  • Starting in 2020, a broad array of national experts, national associations, and people with lived experience partnered to develop a transformative 21st Century Research Agenda for a child and family well-being system. This effort included development and use of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework for supporting the identification and assessment of research gaps. After the Agenda was finalized, a subgroup of the 21st Century Research Agenda Steering Committee developed a tool based on the values and principles from the DEI Framework. The Equity Assessment and Improvement Tool for Research Teams helps teams of researchers, evaluators, program planners and developers, administrators, and individuals with lived expertise take actionable steps toward equity, and bold and transformative systems change. In this webinar, presenters will discuss the Tool and provide an overview of the process used to develop it including honoring the principles that inform the Tool. The presenters will discuss the Tool’s intended use and its practical action steps for improving equity in the research, evaluation, and planning process, such as encouraging meaningful partnership with lived experience experts. Additionally, presenters will review suggested actions to take prior to implementing the Tool.
