  • These guys were so much fun...they were infectious! I give Del much credit for being open to such a project. Loved it. Sorry about the fuzziness at first. Auto focus took about 15 seconds to correct.

Charlie Gabriel on the clarinet with Stuart Duncan on the fiddle is an absolute masterpiece.

Absolutely agree. They were second only to Mike Farris and the Waybacks on the Hillside Album hour for me. Thanks for the comment.

Got to see them play together at New Orleans Jazz Fest. So amazing and powerful. Also looked at the lineup for Merlefest. Hope to join you for this in the future!

If this doesn't make you smile you are a sick person.

I have no facts to back up my opinion, but I do think Doc and Rosa Lee were rocking out with us for this song. I could "see" them sitting in their chairs on the side of the stage, taping their feet with smiles on their faces! such sweet people!!

Thanks Joyce. Welcome to the MF family. It's a great time every year. Subscribe to see the rest of my videos from the Hillside Album Hour and the Avett Brothers. Still uploading stuff. It will probably take another week for me to finish. Enjoy!

Yee Haw. Bet you were able to hear that Banjo compete w/ them Blazing loud horns & in fact Dixieland Jazz has used Banjos because back in them days, Guitars weren't loud enough to be heard over the rest of the group.

I'll bet it was a great show at the Jazz Fest. I was totally unprepared for how powerful they were. Thanks for the comment. Check out my other videos from the Hillside Album Hour and the main stage. Still trying to get time to upload and post everything.

Hi Isaiah, We're not too far away. An hour and a half drive from Shelby. We've been attending since 91 or 92. Must be awesome to live next to it.

Mike, Thanks for the compliment and comment. See my previous comment about the error in timing. I had already posted it and got some views when I realized it and just didn't want to go to the trouble to remake the video. Are you the Mike of 'Mike and Shannon' who sat beside my wife?

They were amazing! I was so happy to see them at MerleFest! Westover, where did you travel from to see the festival? I live right next to it.
