I'm 60 and this is my favoriate all time highlighter formula. It's one of the best for not adding texture to the skin. Mine broke about a year ago, so I'm so glad to see them bring it out again.

This is one of the best demos/tutorials for Hourglass powders I’ve seen out there! It took me a long time to figure out how to use these powders and love them as much as everyone else does 🤣 I love the unlocked palette and the ambient light palette! I also use the bronzer in radiant bronze light and the blushes! They all blend so effortlessly! Great video!

Great video ! I really never understand why people say hourglass powders don't work on tan or dark (sometimes even medium) skintone. I am dark tan (NC 44-45). I have the ambient lighting palette. I also have diffuse light ambient lighting powder that I use regularly as a finishing powder. It never gave me white cast even though it is very pale and it is translucent ! I can use these powders as a setting powder and depending on the shade as highlight when used heavily. I never use this for baking or very heavy powder application as I don't do those things anyway. I guess this powder cannot be used like that and it was never meant to be used like that. But as a finishing powder, that I buff into my skin, these are just fantastic.
I have only tried the Dim light powder and I like it , but now that I know more about the different powders-thanx to you, I am tempted to buy some of the other ones..

I’m not a big fan of powders as they can be drying and not flattering on mature skin, HOURGLASS powders are a game changer for me. 🤩By the way I’m about to search for the new releases, I’m in Australia and sometimes it can be tricky to get the full collection here... : (. 💜💜💜
Karina Papo I’m 57 I will be 58 next month so I know all about creepy wrinkly skin and when I put those ambient lighting powders on it just really blurs my face and gives a nice soft focus affect! It also smoothed out the other products that you have on your face like bronzer blush highlights it just gives such a nice diffusing affect!

I have all the 5/6 pan edit palettes plus the ambient trio (anyone that watches my tutorials knows that I always swish the brush in all the colors / I do this with my Kevin Aucoin sienna blush/bronzer/highlight) too - I just mix all the colors😂 cuz why not🤷♀️and I’m always talking about that lit from within glow! I have all of the ambient edits also from every year since 16 thru 19 holiday collection and each of those pallets they all have strobe highlighters so I was curious as to what the difference was between these metallic and you answered that! When you go live your life 😂 (we’ve all copied that j hill saying)
This actually is different than the strobe powders they carry individually. This is METALLIC strobe powder where the singles or the ones that are in the mixed Holliday palettes are just strobe powders. They are not metallic. They’re still brighter than the ambient lighting powders but not as blinding as the ones in the metallic palette.
I got the Hour Glass Ambient palette for Christmas and had no idea what to do with them. lol I swatched them and thought they sucked lol and haven’t bother the palette since. However now I’m gonna go and try it again

I just received the trio powders and about to check why everyone loves Dim Light. But what really works for pale, cool skins is Mood Light. Oh Lord! It is heaven. When I am super pale during the winter it is an amazing, natural blush. I use it with Sonia G, Designer Pro for more layout as a blush and with Wayne Goss Air Brush or 02 for chin, nose, forehead highlight. Bomb! 🤩 Btw if you read the comment: do you think this strobe trio might work for cool skin tones, as 2 of the shades seem to lean warm? Are they subtle enough to work for me?
Loved this 💓. My only makeup regret is that I never got that 2018 vegan Edit palette in the pink packaging 😥 The following year was the ghost 👻 and that was sooooo not my aesthetic, would not want to see it in my vanity. I hope they re-release that one 🙏 Or something in that packaging😍

I keep telling myself I don’t need this but I’m weak and I’ll most likely end up getting it. I do have a small area of texture on my left cheekbone right where highlight goes (of course it couldn’t be anywhere else, had to be there so it could be emphasized lol). If this palette doesn’t emphasize texture then I’m gonna have to get it for sure.

I think that there‘s the ambient lighting powder, the ambient strobe lighting powder and the ambient metallic strobe lighting powder that is in this palette and only in this palette 🤔 As far as I‘m concerned it‘s different to the permament strobe powder, I have that one and it‘s very natural and not metallic at all.
You mentioned that the metallic strobe formula is in their regular line, but I don’t think it is. They just have the strobe powders, which are very different. Way more chunky glitter.
The re-released palette looks pretty, but I don't think it's worth it for me to pick it up for my skin tone and I'm already happy with the shades in the ghost unlocked palette :)
Because I was pleasantly surprised by that ghost unlocked palette I was actually curious about this one. But I think I agree with you and I’m going to pass. This video was very helpful.
It was on the Sephora Canada app a few days ago and I was able to order one. Got the shipping notification today. I think they released it too early on there site and took it back down a few hours later. I heard they might release it officially today!
I’m with you, but I did end up buying one hourglass product the ambient lighting edit ghost unlocked that was recently re-released. And I actually love it! The two darker “bronzer” shades I use as finishing powders under my eyes and face. It gives a sophisticated glow. the highlighter and blush still works for us too when you want a soft make up look.
It is important to distinguish that there is a difference between the Ambient Strobe Lighting powders and the Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting powders in the trio they just rereleased. The Ambient Strobe Lighting powders are part of their permanent line and the Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting powders are not. The Metallic Strobe Lighting powders are the most “blingy” on the skin
Girl to different topic you say you a legit teacher how are things are going to be when kids go back to school and you say you pe teacher and you are young and if you didn't watch the news a coach teacher passed away how are you going to do to be precaution to protect the community and are they giving sanitizer for all the school and are school practicing the distance from each other especially for children or teens in special needs.

Yes, I’ve heard a lot about mood light! And I do think the trio works for warm skin tones as well!

For a highlight, hourglass does a great job of not emphasizing texture!

If you think you would ONLY use dim light, then get the individual! However if you want versitility radiant light works as a highlight!

I think that there‘s the ambient lighting powder, the ambient strobe lighting powder and the ambient metallic strobe lighting powder that is in this palette and only in this palette 🤔 As far as I‘m concerned it‘s different to the permament strobe powder, I have that one and it‘s very natural and not metallic at all.
Yes! I misspoke in the beginning and didn’t catch it while editing. I did correct myself on the 3 different powders towards the middle of the video!

You mentioned that the metallic strobe formula is in their regular line, but I don’t think it is. They just have the strobe powders, which are very different. Way more chunky glitter.

The re-released palette looks pretty, but I don't think it's worth it for me to pick it up for my skin tone and I'm already happy with the shades in the ghost unlocked palette :)

It was on the Sephora Canada app a few days ago and I was able to order one. Got the shipping notification today. I think they released it too early on there site and took it back down a few hours later. I heard they might release it officially today!

I’m with you, but I did end up buying one hourglass product the ambient lighting edit ghost unlocked that was recently re-released. And I actually love it! The two darker “bronzer” shades I use as finishing powders under my eyes and face. It gives a sophisticated glow. the highlighter and blush still works for us too when you want a soft make up look.
It is important to distinguish that there is a difference between the Ambient Strobe Lighting powders and the Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting powders in the trio they just rereleased. The Ambient Strobe Lighting powders are part of their permanent line and the Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting powders are not. The Metallic Strobe Lighting powders are the most “blingy” on the skin

Girl to different topic you say you a legit teacher how are things are going to be when kids go back to school and you say you pe teacher and you are young and if you didn't watch the news a coach teacher passed away how are you going to do to be precaution to protect the community and are they giving sanitizer for all the school and are school practicing the distance from each other especially for children or teens in special needs.
At this point they dont even know when kids are going back to school. As a teacher, I have no say on that that stuff.

Im suuuper obsessed with my ALP, I have two and use them as all over setting powders since last Nov as I have dry skin and struggled for years with powders - they have changed my life ! I think il skip the metallic strobe palette as I have soooo many highlighters but I plan to pick up a large palette this Christmas when they release the holiday collections
