    The original sin is signing Cousins for that money. Why is this hard for people to understand? Choose a path, draft a top 10 QB or sign an expensive vet. Not both.

      Because there is no guarantee the QB you like falls to you in the draft... and you can't go back in time to not sign Kirk once you land your QB in the draft.

      It's not that big of a contract if you look at it.

      You can do both. IF ATL wouldn't have taken Pennix there season would be over because Cousins tanked off during the season. Plus Pennix has 15 years ahead of him.

    That Kirk Cousins pay day seems like it was an investment in an education for Penix. In house tutoring came at a cost lol

    The Falcons wanted insurance behind Kirk Cousins in case he got injured again or was ineffective. Now we're going to see how good of a decision it was to draft Michael Penix Jr.

    @kaii231 14 дней назад +2

    It was a, solid plan. I think they thought cousins would be good at least one more year. Bottom line, they're 7-7 vying for the playoffs. Penix has been able to watch for almost an entire season. He's ready to step in and give it a, go.

      ITs easy to do hindsight 20/20 vision. FA is like 2 months before the draft. The QBs slid in this draft and that wasn't expected. Pennix slipped in their eyes so they took him. IF you don't have cousins then you have NO QB going into the draft and you're taken the risk of missing out on a QB.

    If the Falcons were right to draft Penix, then why sign Cousins to a massive contract? That's just a waste of money.

    • @samuelsandate9804
      @samuelsandate9804 14 дней назад +17

      Maybe because they wanted Michael Penix to learn from a veteran QB before throwing him up there. It doesn't take a scientist to figure this out. Bozo.

      @@samuelsandate9804100 million dollar teacher? You really had the nerve to call someone stupid after making this moronic comment? They could have signed Flacco for 20 million to do the same thing. At least he's won a superbowl.

    • @kleard2
      @kleard2 14 дней назад +10

      @samuelsandate9804 You don't need to pay a 36 year old QB $100 million coming off an achilles injury to mentor a young QB. Bozo. It's a waste of resources. That money could've gotten the Falcons solid starters on defense.

    I don’t agree because the Falcons are one game behind in the division with 3 weeks to go in the season. There’s 3 winnable games, Giants, Commanders, and Panthers. I’m not a fan of Kirk Cousins but let’s not act like he has a plethora of weapons to throw to.
