      Still can't believe the official Sox Twitter account sent that out. Wish it didn't get deleted

    Oh Dom. Dom, Dom, Dom, where do I even begin with you😍 my glorious king, Dominic David Rene Smith, not our step-first baseman, but the first baseman that stepped up. I love you so much my pookie smoochie bear. You will always have a special place in my heart, and on this roster. You will get that statue soon enough pookie🥰

    Everyone forgets to mention how solid he is at first base.

      Not a gold glove 1st Baseman but he's serviceable and won't cost you on defense most nights

    I love having Casas back but man, I miss the BDSM era in Boston. Will always remember the first baseman who stepped up.

      It was a bittersweet day when Casas returned. I honestly thought they would have just gave Smith a fake IL stint to keep him in the organization until September came and rosters were expanded

      Now I wish I talked about his key intellect on the bases and how he turns on the speed when he needs to score

    I think a player turning it around for himself and his team will get due consideration for sticking around. His slash numbers are good but the team performance around him has been even better.

    in a perfect world, i wish theyd kept Xander moving hm to 3rd, Story taking short & Raffy at 1st.

    • @The27thBallplayer
      @The27thBallplayer  2 месяца назад +1

      Honestly I'd move Xander to 2nd before putting him back at 3rd. Though, I wanted him to resign with the Sox, there was no way I could agree with signing him to a deal that the Padres gave him

    I wish Smith were more versatile and could play other positions.
    they certainly need backup at first

    • @The27thBallplayer
      @The27thBallplayer  2 месяца назад

      I believe the Mets tried him in the outfield previously, but we're all set with outfielders right now. I could see them giving Smith a phantom IL stint and rehab assignment to last until September 1st when the rosters expand to 28 players. Hopefully we aren't seeing his last few days with the Sox

      Once Wong proved he could back up 1st adequately it was only a matter of time once Casas came back. Will miss Dom, but he deserves to play.

      Rib strain is an intercostal muscle strain. He didn't strain a bone, it's a muscle. Can be very painful.

    should have kept him for the season. he was hitting, and fielding...casas is good, but he is too streaky. connor wong has no business being at first.

    • @The27thBallplayer
      @The27thBallplayer  Месяц назад

      I can understand why they let him go. Doesn't mean I liked it, but realistically he had no room to play with Casas back. Though also in Casas' defense, I feel that the injury has caused him to be inconsistent since being activated. Hopefully we get a full, healthy 2025 out of Casas

    This dude really made a video about a guy that’s hitting .239 with 6 home runs and 34 RBIs! Lmao 🤦🏼‍♂️

      Dom Smith saved the Sox season. He's not the first baseman we want but he's the first baseman we need (ok we also want him too)

      @@The27thBallplayer saved the season? If the season ended today they wouldn’t be in the playoffs!

    • @The27thBallplayer
      @The27thBallplayer  2 месяца назад +1

      I mean, he filled a void at 1st. Otherwise we would have Garrett Cooper or Bobby Dalbec (bless his soul) playing 1st for us. But also, the season isn't over. We still have quite some time left for some more BDSM (Big Dom Smith Moments) to occur.

  • @Dudeman9339
    @Dudeman9339 2 месяца назад

    lol what? He’s a pretty decent hitter but he clogs up the bases and is barely passable on defense.
    He doesnt fit the team well despite good numbers.
