    Thanks Nick , I just bought one from Moama. Hopefully it's in the post as we speak. I'm looking forward to getting this machine as my icon stopped working about a month ago. I had the icon for 4 years then one day it died on me. And as I don't have a t20 screw driver or a hair-dryer. I couldn't fix it. It probably works now as I haven't touched it since it stopped working. A friend at work lent me a resmed and seeming I can't sleep without a machine. Well just glad some one in my town had a spare. Looking forward to it turning up. I've downloaded the app and ready to go when it turns up. Thanks for everything you do. You make cpap therapy alot less daunting. Years ago the consumer didn't have any control over the machines. Now Thanks to people like you we are getting control back. Can't say Thankyou enough.

    Hi Uncle Nicco
    Thanks so much for the videos… they’re very cheerful, informative and easy to understand.
    I acquired this fabulous little F&P Sleepstyle Auto from a friend who only used it for 6-8 weeks, so she gave it to me when we learnt the Phillips Dreamstation1 was being recalled.
    I can’t see anywhere on the machine to turn Bluetooth on and I don’t seem to be able to pair it to my phone.
    I’ve learnt so much more about sleep apnoea since watching your videos. Thank you so very much.
    Connie

    Hi Nick. Thanks for these videos. I have been using the F&P Sleepstyle for a week with the nasal pillow mask. I love it. I battled for 4 months with the ResMed Airsense 10 when I was in Australia earlier this year and eventually gave up. Issues with mask fitting and discomfort and air swallowing. Now sleeping 7-8 hours a night!
    I looked up your video on the Sleepstyle as I was having trouble pairing my machine to the Sleepstyle App. Turns out that my iPhone couldn’t pair when the machine was already turned on before I opened the app. I unplugged the CPAP, opened the App then plugged the machine in again and all is well.
    Another point. It seems that my CPAP provider has turned off the AHI data on my machines data screen. Fortunately it still comes through on the App. I don’t know why they would do that. I like to know what’s going on when I’m asleep.🙃

    I don’t like that you can’t change the hose temperature. It’s always hot air with this thing. I have this one and the Resmed, and the Resmed gives me nice, cool air. It goes from like 19C to 26C. My sleep tech said it shouldn’t change the temp of the air coming in to you but she’s wrong! lol. I can’t sleep with the hot air.

    Does the Fisher & Paykel sleep style machine have any settings for the different types of masks, pillows cradle full face etc? Thanks in advance.
    Hope you and family all doing well.

      Good question mate! I don't know actually. I haven't used one in a long time. Most machines do have that function so it adjust the pressure correctly based on the mask resistance. Let me know what you find. Cheers. Nick

      Hi Nick.
      Because I live on NZ I did the simple thing, I rang Fisher & Paykel and asked them about mask options. They said it was smart enough to allow for different masks, but one should always consult their sleep therapist.

    I have an older machine with a big 2 & 1/2 inch square window on the front & dial with a push button center button that shows the time and all the settings of the menu as you turn it clockwise and that lights up when you push that center button. It is so sensible and easy to use for crippled & damaged hands like mine. The buttons in this machine would make it impossible for me to use. I wish developers would use more common sense and consider whether their design would meet the challenges of seniors and people in advanced old age that have with loss of hand dexterity and strength (I couldn't angle my fused wrist bones to hit and hold those little buttons) and poorer eyesight that makes them need a big windows that lights up to shows all the settings.
    We have unique challenges and designers should keep them in mind when making serious design changes and create a design that is suitable for all age groups of users. not just the young and able bodied.e

    Speaking for the North American crowd, we haven't had the opportunity to see one of these puppies yet. What are some benefits of the Sleepstyle over its main competitors (Airsense 10/Dreamstation)?

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  7 лет назад

      Fisher Paykel have the best humdification systems. This machines is also dead quiet. Ease of operation is incredible. Across the board though there is no real difference in 'features' between the 3 machines

    • @cebruthius
      @cebruthius 7 лет назад

      Summary so far: The Icon was really stupid, F&P have finally caught up with the other manufacturers (ResMed, PR) in terms of basic interaction features. Still no flow data in Sleepyhead. No 12V battery connection (fallback) so DeVilbiss is still king here. It looks like a huge fingerprint magnet. The huge silicone blanket looks somewhat bizarre, no other manufacturers require something like that. The humidifier box doesn't have any real hinges so the plastic folds are bound to tear at some point due to fatigue, the PR design (S1, DS) seems better in this regard.
      AFAICT it seems to require the proprietary tubing at all times.
      Humidity adjustment seems unnecessarily cumbersome, e.g. on a PR S1 a twist of the knob is all it takes at any time.
      F&P seem to target the elderly, but I'd still recommend the Air10 or DS for an easy twist of the knob and legible display. I'd hate to think of having cataract and being stuck with this machine.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  7 лет назад

      mikokuijn i disagree. This machines is remarkably quiet and the humidification system is second to none. The machine is extremely easy to operate, clean and adjust settings even for those with cataracts. Thanks for the feedback but the machine certainly competes very well with the other brands you mention especially on noise and humidity which ware two of the most important factors.

      @@CPAPReviews sleepstyle doesnt have automatic start you have manually turn it on and off. It also runs a different algorithm from other companies And doesnt differentiate between male and female I was told. It some how treats differently. My hypopnias are less on this machine averaging .5 per night? Per hour?? Where with my dreamstation I average 1 to 1.5, 2 per night. Still getting dry eyes but about half as bad and I have a different mask now. Still getting a bit o rain out so I'll have turm it down a notch wich will make it dryer again
      I don't want to have to run a un room humidifier since a prefer a cool room to sleep in and my floor temp is lower leading to condesation in the link tube between mask and heated tube.

    03:51 why the hell would you need to buy a new one, that white stuff that builds up from tap water is just minerals from the water. To remove it all you need is some descaling solution, most cpap companies sell it, you can even use coffee machine descaler. Put a bit of descaler in with hot water, shake it around and let it sit for a few hours. Rinse out the container with clean water and give it a clean with soapy water and it will be like brand new.
