There are huge numbers of South Asians and Africans in those parts of the world and their numbers are rapidly increasing in traditionally Caucasian countries wheras the latter seem feeble and with poor reproduction rates and as a white Britisher, this is unsettling even though I generally judge people by their character rather than by their race, this still does not feel right (despite what Europe has done to exploit other countries. ) Throw other religions into the mix and economic stress and you have a recipe for societal breakdown.

Well done Ash for being able to speak on this subject. Every time you spoke, I found myself getting more emotional because it was so obvious how upset and angry you are. I know that most people in this country are horrified and disgusted by the scenes of racism we are witnessing.

    • @robbieelliot9491

When listening to protesters, safety, esp for families was a big issue and it is only in recent history the report and conviction of grooming gangs corruption of our institutions, largely due to fear of being politically incorrect. Ideology has consequences. Plus there have been other issues. As well as both main parties belonging to the elite, global political class. Labor no longer doesn't represent the working class anymore. To reduce this whole issue to racist white thugs is not only wrong, bit stoking and reinforcing division
My point there is more than just racism. You can't help address a problem, esp when ppl are scared if you don't listen or value ppls concerns. Ash has basically dismissed and slandered many. She is scared, and feels right and justified, using her position of power to make her case.

The real British people that are out in their communities, clearing up the mess the hate goblins leave behind, are the folk that make this place actually great, and the reason you should be proud. People of every age, faith and background, all out helping each other, rebuilding their communities. The hate goblins and those behind the violence want to create division in the communities. Instead, it's leaving stronger and tighter communities in its wake. Stronger communities are a hard recruiting ground for those driven by hate. These events are horrendous beyond belief, but they aren't a reflection of most of us, just the noisy and violent few.

The irony is that people identify as English simply because they live on territory owned by the ruling class (the old Monarchy). Without this ruling class, "England" as a concept would not exist. When people are raised to believe in the nation, which is only a social construct used to govern them, they internalize it as their identity. The system meant to rule over them becomes their sense of self. Democracy and nationalism are closely related as well, as no democratic system functions without nationalism. Nationalism is a perfect tool to cover up any inherent class differences (property owners vs. labour). Because of this connection, fascism is always a potential threat, since it represents the ultimate implementation of idelistic nation state, where all class differences are put under the greater good of the nation. The greater good of the nation is also popular among democratic leaders. So , democracy and fascism share fundamental ideological elements, making it relatively easy transition from one to the other. The is also very clear in the migrant discussion, when the line of arguments between the democratic nation-state ideology and a fascist nation-state ideology becomes hard to distinguish. To effectively combat fascism, you need to deconstruct and dismantle the ideology of the nation-state first.

Hi guys, love you! I'd counter the last argument right at the end about numbers of migrants, as follows: whilst I know realistically unchecked open borders is likely unrealistic, reducing migrants to mere numbers is dehumanizing and sort of the first step in a journey that eventually leads to racism at some point if such talk is left unchecked. Hence the incredibly low standard of political speech about migrants in the UK overall. Just a nameless faceless statistic is easy to other and subject to further dehumanizing processes such as being kept in the perpetual liminal space of a hotel mirrored by the perpetual liminal state of remaining unprocessed by immigration. The entire system is set up to keep them faceless and nameless, which should be deemed an illegal form of cruel and unusual punishment. The unfortunate thing is that in the UK and many other countries, arguments for inward migration are framed in terms of numbers and how those numbers of migrants can be "useful" in economic terms. As such, discussions already start off somewhere along the unfortunate road to perdition this way.

It occurred on the same day that there was a Bristol Rovers vs Bristol City - an event that always involves violence. So you have a large number of worked up people just down the road from the gathering of far right thugs. Also just down the road is a facility housing immigrants. The anti fascist (counter demonstrators) knew that this would be a target and so had created a cordon around the sight to protect those inside. What I'd like to ask is where we're the police at this site. If the anti fascist lot could work it out why weren't the police there BEFORE the thugs turned up?!!!!. It was only after the fascist thugs arrived that there was any kind of police presence 😔

Immigration should be part of a socialist project to build infrastructure where no one's left behind. so we can house immigrants and those born here with a high quality of life.
