Oh my! I got the same problem. I know that the short ball, above the net, I don't want the low-to-high swing but instead a high-high stroke that hit through the ball, especially with no pace & rapidly dropping incoming ball. What's the mental trick? Do I imagine that I'm swinging across my chest instead of racquet to my ear? I'm tired of getting a short ball but instead of a penetrating forehand, the opponent has too much time because I put too much spin on it.
FYProduction I'd suggest trying to get your hand level with the ball, the racquet drop from your wrist will give you all the spin you need. Thanks for the question!
