Absolutely marvelous lesson. Jonny's piano skills are breathtaking and he is brilliant teacher as well. That's why videos on this channel are extremely practical and effective.
I mainly play guitar, but there's been a piano in my household for over fifty years. My wife and I splurged and bought it as a wedding present to each other, a brand new Baldwin Acrosonic, circa 1969. I also have a midi controller that has reasonable keyboard feel. I watch a lot of videos showing instrumental technique. Just wanted to say this is one of the better ones I've encountered. I'm kind of embarassed to admit that I'd never noticed the potential of that dominant 7th chord inversion with the 7th at the bottom. Way cool. I played it and to my amazement it still sounded pretty cool. Lots of good stuff in this video, nicely and concisely presented. Stay after it, man.
Excellent lesson! So many RUclips lessons that teach blues piano sound amateurish. This lesson shows how to play blues accompaniments in a more professional sounding manner.
I got this in my email. To help learn it, I copy down what you say on ledger paper. You went at a very good pace for this lesson and explained things nicely. I especially liked the segment on extension notes, it gives me a better idea of what notes sound good in a given chord, possibly helping understand improvisation.
Really can't wait till I can join Piano with Jonny. Love, love, love all that you do Jonny. Thank you for putting some content here for me to dip in and get a taster in the interim until I can join the community.

you will have to carry that dominant 7th shame with you, my friend. Over time it will diminish.
@@doyourownresearch7297 Already it seems half-diminished.
