  • Egon Schiele: A collection of 365 works (HD) *UPDATE (added almost 100 new more works than previous video)
    Description: "Egon Schiele (Austrian, June 12, 1890-October 31, 1918) was a major figure of Austrian Expressionism. Although his career was short, Schiele’s prolific work paved the way for Modernism. He is most known for Figurative works, self-portraits, and portraits that express a deeply personal and radical aesthetic. "

    Schiele was obviously a child prodigy that died way too early. I had seen some of his works in the past , but never this much of a collection. Thanks!

    I am totally captivated by this wonderful artist so thank you for the fantastic presentation. His vibrant and rich palette of colours is intoxicating whatever the subject. He must have been very prolific and confident of this ability. The music you have used is hypnotic and I too would love to know the composer and pianist.

    Schiele was a staggeringly brilliant draughtsman in a class of his own. Credited by some for the creation of Expressionism the efforts of subsequent artists were by comparison crude doodlings. His art master famously said, "The Devil has shat you into my class"...it is not recorded who the rest of the class was - presumably shat there by God.

    • @CarlBowlby
      @CarlBowlby 4 года назад +3

      And who would you consider to be these “crude” doodlers? Just curious as to your frame of reference.

    I was ignorant of this man even though I've studied art for some 30 years. Obviously in overlooking him I didn't study well enough. I was aware of him but in my shame I was dismissive of him and until now never really gave much consideration, time or credit. Quite easy I suppose to do this when steeped in the works of rembrandt etc. Then the other day when scrolling through album covers for music I came across a cover which knocked me sideways. I immediately knew it was the work of an artist , a genius of an artist. I knew it had not been printed specifically for the album. It was another level. It was a painting of schieles wife. A very simple image. Almost naive. But nothing amateur about it. I knew it was the work of a master. I looked into it. Then I found out the artist. The man I'd dismissed for 30 years.

    Incredibly fascinating, very moving, a humbling Egon Schiele
    You can see Klimts influence in some of his work. And I did spot a portrait of Gustav, I recognised the blue robe he was known to wear.

    ES expressed in art what he perhaps couldn't easily speak. Some of his paintings of trees are likely portraits or symbolic of specific people in his life, imo.

    one of my favorite artists....a young genius at using negative space w/highlight colors or
    massive colors never combined like that b4...was kindest in painting children and a genius in
    sketches of women and his most contorted ugly work were of himself even tho he was
    good looking....good artist at very young age...friend of Klimt....jailed for a short time for
    work of nudes which was shocking during that age...moved into larger house for he and his wife but it was hard to heat and she died first of the flu or t.b. and he shortly after, both at a fairly young age...

    His drawings are genius. I’m not art critic, honestly I don’t know much about art, but imao his work is good. Those paintings including human in it, he captured two fundamental things, men’s ego and women’s desire in a world the both things are deeply twisted by the patriarchal society. You could almost find this feature in most of his work, the precision and the blatancy I think he didn’t intend to hide that, many did.

    Gifted Artist ,but difficult to digest. Much art evolving after Impressionist, turned evocative, sexualized men an women to lovest denominator. One can follow the era of Victorianism, repression of women. Freudian psychonalisis of dreams, which in reality exposed his sick obsession to dominate the opposite sex, revulsion off his own erotic impulses, then subjected as female characteristics. Did a lot off damage to future generations, though pushed back some what by Joung. Unfortunately, though arriving at his birth, 1856/1939 epoch. Took especially hold in German and Brithis Culture. His experimentation with Heroin, became modernism view off expanding mind drugs, as with others. The grissly nudes of Egon gives of not pleasure or divine rights, but repulsion. Sadly Freud's psychology and mind experiments, is much in Vouge today in Add , promotions, Manipulation of Media as Mass, control. Which with Freud began with female obsessions, of their minds. One can trace it's inhumanity dates, 1930ish, to the rise in Germany of Hitler. Dehumanization. Modern Arts, de- materialization, into parts, not the whole equation off the human experience. Art can teach or effect our perception of what's real, and make the unacceptable norm. Not a good way🕧 to move forward. 🚫⏳🗽🦅🇩🇰🇺🇸🌡️
