  • Jig off talks is an introduction video into these wonderful tungsten weights.
I have to say, i just live them. They are almost perfect.
They can invert any hook and make it a jig hook.
They have a huge advantage over regular beads....
If you have interest in them watch the whole video.
As a plus i will tie an amazing nymph pattern that brought me a lots of fish...
    Stay safe
    Cheers
    Vladimir

The 'release/appply' method is rather like micro pinch wraps. Just as a matter of interest,. that thread seems to have a beautiful metallic sheen -very appealing (hopefully to the fish as well). :-):-)

Not sure i would call it pinch, since it doesnt lock in place materials immediately. I think proper name is soft wrap. Thread is UTC 70den, i just love it.... Its perfect for thread bodies

@@Oholisfliesandfishing I meant in a pinch wrap; you pull down from a kind of genre position? It; shard to explain-I meant it's like a pinch wrap without the pinch, on a micro scale.. But either way the material does not rotate. and that's the thing. :-)

@@TERRYBIGGENDEN if you look at it like that then yes. Although, if you apply a bit more pressure with this wrap you could intentionally spin materials around the hook.🍺🍺😀

Great tips as always ! i 've learned flytying watching videos from Davie Mc Phail many years ago ,and now i find a lot of inspiration watching yours! These uses of jig off beads are amazing ( specially on jig hooks like you showed on your video " Anvil PNT 4K ") , leaving more room to bild a thorax with legs, and adding a weight to fish deeper when needed...by the way your pattern here is superb and look so natural ,so close to those larvas that we see in the water ! thanks you very much for sharing ! greatings from Korsica!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Glad to hear my flies work there. I dont think i ever met someone from Corsica... My friend went there once and fished a bit.. Beautiful place. Cheers 🍺🍺

Another great tutorial Vladimir. And love the pattern. It’s a great fly and a great tie! I’ll give it a try although, as always, mine won’t come out looking so good! lol
Thank you for another one dude. 😊

these make excellent balanced leeches on jig hooks so you dont have to use pins

Absolutely. I never used balanced flies. What is the idea about them?

I use this style of this bead for a crayfish pattern, and they fish quite well. Mine are hareline insta jig, though. It’s a bit hard to find plain tungsten barbells without painted/molded eyes these days. Nice looking nymph, btw!

Thanks a lot. In regards to the dumbels.... Try soaking them in acetone kr some other chemical that can disolve paint .... May solve your problem. Jist after soaking brush it with cotton pads to remove paint....

I think the pt nymph fishes better when using pt fir the tails but they break off so soon after catching fish. Do they break off on you too ? Thanks!! B

    • @Oholisfliesandfishing
      @Oholisfliesandfishing  11 месяцев назад +1

They do break but even after that they catch fish just as fine. I don't even care anymore. Tail is there for me now 🍻
