I also really liked how you gave the technical explanation of the switchable diodes and what opamp you used and why. I would love to see more tech videos on pedal building and electronics. Your channel has been an inspiration for me to build pedals myself. If the pedal were in my rig, I would play either my hot rodded Esquire or my wife’s baritone Strat through my Orange Brent Hinds Terror. I have found the clean channel on that amp is a pretty good pedal platform because it still has a touch of dirt to it that has worked with all my fuzz pedals.

Here in Memphis, TN. I'd run the DM thru my black Gibson '00 ES335 and Vox AC30. It sounds like a traditional setup that wouldn't do heavy, but I can get some Jimmy Bower EYEHATEGOD riffage thru the setup with a good fuzz. Anyway, I've never had a Rat. Or even played thru one. With the clipping and filter options though, I could totally see myself getting a Drone Master. Great work, love the pedals and content you're doing!

Killer pedal and demo. I feel like I'm going to have to get one of your pedals sometime soon..... You asked, where I am, what I'd use with the pedal, and for video ideas...... I'm based in Portland and would play it through a fender blues deluxe 90's reissue. With either a strat with lace sensors, epiphone with p90s, or modified Ibanez with p90s and a cheap piezo..... Or a violin with a guitar pickup on it.. ......... It would be cool if you did a can it shoegaze? Video..... Maybe a can it pulse demon? That thing is a beast wouldn't be surprised if it could sound like pulse demon.
I have the Fat Rat pedal and an awesome Rat Clone made by Little Big Tone in Poland (Definiterly check them out on Reverb. This Rat clone sounds better than my Proco Rat and is cheaper). Though I just ordered a Drone Master because I couldn't help myself lol. I told myself I have two rat pedals, both which sound amazing. The Fat Rat even gives you two different types of clipping and allows for lots of different tones. But I just find your pedals sound better than anything else out there. You do what you do amazingly and I haven't been disappointed yet, so I know the Drone Master will replace my other Rats. Anyway, I love playing my rats into my newly purchase Traynor YGM-4 Studio Mate. It's an awesome vintage amp with beautifully deep and resonate low ends. Sounds killer and is loud as fuck for 20-25 watts (which ever it actually is). I'll use the Range Master in the same way up here in Northern Alberta, Canada.

For future content, I'd love to see op amp comparisons like the LM308, LM386, OP07 etc. And sadly, I didn't win the contest on the Rigs of Doom IG page, but If I did win, I would've used it with my Epiphone SG Special, w/ Lace Wino Lifer pup in the bridge, removed and filled the neck pup slot, 54-11 DR strings. dang jason. a rat style circuit without the tonetastic magic of the lm308? anyone who knows anything knows 420% of tone comes from the op amp. and besides that the lm308s were sprayed with enchanted pixie farts to make them sound even better.... ne indiana here. would love to see some new Q&A videos and it's been 2 hot minutes since we were gifted with some in depth technical explanations of the way certain circuits and components work and create that beautiful distorted fuzzy goodness we all fiend for. and when I eventually obtain a drone master (oh yes one day she will be mine) I'd run my knock off jazz bass into it then use the drone to punch the shit out of the input of my shitty ss crate driving a 4×10 cab. hopefully I'm not blown away by the explosion of gnarly gritty greatness. I'll definitely be wearing the proper PPE when the time comes.

Hey Jason! Awesome video and pedal. One question, in a video a year old, you said that the left switch up scooped the mids like a muff, but in this one you say that it bumps the mids. Did you change the switch or am I missing something? Thx
I got one of the two wrong haha. Down on left toggle is more of a stock rat which has a mix of mid hump standard, and up engages the filter section from FU-2 pedal which is heavily scooped. Sorry for the mix up
Really dig that peavy guitar! It just has it's own sound! Would really like to afford that aluminum neck🤘🤠🤘 We used to use a Rat and a very wet reverb from a aliesis wedge. We called the sound the WET RAT!!💦🐀

It is a HP200 signal generator. It makes a signal, and it’s what is shown on the oscope screen. It’s a really old vintage tube operated unit from the HP in Corvallis Oregon ⚙️
I have a Gibson dc special with p90’s, and I play that going into my fuzz pedals and that actually goes into my genz Benz shuttle 6.0 bass amp. It has a tube preamp and a solid state power amp so it has an interesting tone and works quite well as doom metal amp, and it also has 300 watts of brain crushing power
Whats the difference between the drone master and void master ? I'm considering buying one of them for black /death record. Which one of would fit the best for that style ?

B standard, one track was dry and other track also used the Dark Master delay that is coming out soon.

I use it with a 70s music man hd 150 and a behringer 4x12. Guitar is an SG down tuned to G# with 68s on it.

This sounds great. Sad I missed out. I really want that old school RAT sound. I found a guy selling the EQD Lifepedal locally for $650. Ouch!
It's so funny how you can find a RAT2 for like 50 bucks but everyone makes their own version and charges 3 to 5 times as much

Hi Jason! Which of your pedals would you recommend for lead/solo tones? I don't like harsh and bright sound for that purpose and rather prefer smoother tones.
