Doing any job on a Defender takes so much time. Doing something like this gives you so much satisfaction. It makes you feel like its worth doing. If that makes sense. Mines going away soon to have the footwell and bulkhead welded. Once its back I'll be doing the same as you. Cant wait to see the transformation.

Keep at it mate, the views might be low now but your numbers will explode in a few years. Recently did a resto on a 90 similar colour to yours, as always still lots planned to do on her.

Looks great. I did similar job in my lr defender some time ago. Remeber about investing in door seals, also in front door bottom ones, otherwise you will notice dust all over the dark carpet :)

Thanks! I have bottom seals ready to be fitted. Did you fit yours to the sill or the bottom of the door?

How much insulation (thickness) did you put down?

On the floor and seat boxes we put down a 2mm noico sound deadening this allowed a very neat fit of the carpet but we also have a 9mm thick acoustic foam matt that covers the foot wells, which doesn’t fit as well.
