Vic great video seeing the U.P. trains Back In the day in Chicago was amazing for me growing up there.recently saw those wonderful E-9's at Cheyenne frontier days they are in magnificent condition your layout is SUPER very authentic 16 long cars beautiful
Vic, thank you so much for making this incredible video of the most striking passenger trains in America. Your layout is unreal - fantastic scenery, big freight yards, and I really enjoyed the view inside that beautiful, big passenger terminal. I have been out of the hobby for 24 years now and only recently have I become aware that such videos are available on the internet. It is certainly good to know that the U.P., a big passenger hauler that attempted to maintain high standards for the traveling American public, have saved some of their E8/9 locomotives and cars and that they can still be seen and ridden. Saw a video the other day of U.P. locomotives towing the old Chicago and Northwestern, "Officer train" F units. I would hope that U.P., another railroad, or investors can save these classic beauties - and I mean, save all of them. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. That can't be allowed. Once again, thank you.
Tommy, You are most welcome. I am thrilled you enjoy the videos. The layout is designed and owned by a friend in Southern California kind enough to allow me to operate my personal equipment. Named the Pacific Coast Lines, it features a wide variety scenes depicted from a bygone era. The layout is roughly based on Southern California in the early 1950s. More can be found here: facebook.com/brassmag/. The layout will be featured in the December 2017 issue of Model Railroader. If you are not a subscriber be sure to pick up a copy at your local hobby shop.
Great video. Thanks for the post. Can you please do a cabride video of this marvelous layout? Is this going to be featured in the February 2018 issue of Model Railroader? Thumbs up!
WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM OF THE 1960S MORE PEOPLE WOULD TRAVEL BY AUTOMOBILE OR AIRPLANE AND ABANDONED THE TRAINS IT WAS A SHAME
