I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited. Has nearly 263K miles. Still RUNNING and DRIVING good. Other than my 2000 Honda CR-V EX which I still have as well, it is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Great gas mileage for a V6. If driven conservatively, which I do most of the time, it has the fuel efficiency of a 4 cylinder and it has the POWER of a V8 when I put the PEDAL to the METAL.

I currently drive a 06 Limited with 187,000 on the clock .. One of the most smoothest running cars you could drive! I could barely feel it running at stop lights and fuel mileage is outta this world for a V6 .. On a recent trip to Rhode Island I got her up to 29.3 miles a gallon at average 75-80mph 😁 AC compressor just seized up and the Cat is starting to rattle a lil but Man O Man this baby moves like it had 40,000 on the clock! Would definitely recommend 👍🏽

What a gorgeous Avalon, these are some of my favorite cars. I'm envious! I think it's an outstanding value, the affordable Lexus without the Lexus label, for short, the smart man's Lexus. My favorite besides the current generation is probably the 1998, the refreshed version of the 1995.

I have a 2012 Avalon. As I wrote under another video of theirs, I love everything about it but one thing: There is no transmission dipstick or fill tube (In case you were going crazy looking for it LOL). You have to access it via the driver side wheel well, take off a panel (2 bolts) for access and there are a couple of bolts to the transmission. One on the side and one underneath transmission which has a bolt to the pan and another little plastic overflo tube within it. Really an engineer f'up if you ask me. But with transmission attention needed very rarely I still love the car. Would probably recommend taking car to Toyota dealer for any transmission check, fluid change, etc. For DYI folks there are numerous videos on how to do it yourself, but it is a process.

I picked up a 2011 Avalon, with 120,000 mi on it. A year and 6 months ago. Paid 8,000 cash. Has the reddish brown leather interior. I'm at 199,000 miles right now. Replaced a few bearings. I think that back strut needs work. Got a small leak on my power steering that I fixed with a new clamp. Runs like, and looks new. The transmission fluid did turn black. But I did get a pinhole in My radiator about 170,000 miles. Had everything replaced.
I think I am using the original spark plugs and injectors without issue. The worst thing, and only bad thing about this car is that automatic back sunshade breaks.
I was actually searching for a Avalon specifically and had a hard time finding one that wasn't trashed. Usually what happens is a grandparent dies, it gets passed down to the kids and they trash it. Then it goes up for sale.
It's a car best for highways though. 90 percent of my miles are spent between 80mph and 110mph.

Good videos you’ve made on the Avalon. My family has a 2006 Avalon and we love it; cheap to run, luxury, comfortable, reliable everything we could ask for. I have recently had to replace some things (water pump, ac compressor) but not unexpected on a nearly 16 year old car. We plan to pass the car down to my younger brother heading off to college next fall and my dad will purchase a new 2022 model (the final model year before Toyota axes the Avalon).

Just picked up a 2014 - beginning to like it. The interior colors (variety of browns) is annoying and the texture of the leather is not very supple. The drive and comfort is great except for the passenger seat only being 4 way instead of 6 way on the model we have.

  • @jamesslick4790

It's a more discrete luxury car. It's a way to have basically a Lexus without "showing off". It's what Buick a Buick Park Avenue was to a Cadillac DeVille back in the days when Buick still actually made luxury CARS. That pretty much sums it up; A Japanese Park Avenue. I bought a few Park Aves at GREAT bargain prices over the years as just like the Avalon they had an "old man" image. This is a dumb reason NOT to buy a car, Esp USED. If it WAS owned by a mature adult, it likely would be well cared for. I hope these never get TOO well known TOO soon, as an Avalon what I'm saving up for. (I want to pay cash!, LOL). Nice cars! 👍😊👍
