I picked up 2042 in 2022 because there is not visual recoil cluster fvk like those in MWII, while MWIII drastically reduce the visual recoil for better gunplay and visibility , the 2042 goes the other way? visual recoil lies about where the gun acctually pointing at. For those who think visual recoil will reduce the beam firing, the bullet spawn point will remain the same as there is not viusal recoial while it follows the recoil pattern no matter what the visual is telling you, you will still be mag dumped to death (just like bf5). The main thing they need to adjust in animation is the animiation blend space between each locomotion. the animation blending of tac-sprint into ads is hilariously bad. Adding the feeling of weight? adding some displacement of the arm toward the camera or offset the camera base on the momentum of the player character will be the better way to make the gun actually feels heavy while not affecting the shooting at all.
I think it's fine. To me it's returning more to it's roots in terms of visual feedback. 2042 felt far more stiff than previous titles. *Man as always it's always the same voices that shit massively over something so slight. It's a slight visual recoil change, don't get your panties in a twist. Enders complains how the Battlefield community is like a pendulum with it's mood swings. This is one of those examples. This is not such a big deal to cause such fuss over.
Exactly plus it's not even that noticeable. People acting like Dice added MWII visual recoil which literally made it impossible to see crap period even with red dots like chill jesus....
I read complaints about the weapons in 2042, how they feel weak and underwhelming. I think this is a good change and will give weapons that impact we'd expect.
Honestly love the change and they didn't make it terrible like what cod did with it's visual recoil. Finally after 2 years the guns no long remind me of the no skill laser beams they once were.
As someone who is a casual battlefield fan but also I would say above average in the skill gamut of players I think this is pretty welcome. Over the life of 2042 ive fallen off playing more and more for past games or for alternatives with one major factor being the gun feel. In 2042 its always felt like the guns were fairly samey within each weapon class and it made choosing weapons a little dull. As a measure to maybe not make the gunplay more realistic but instead add variety im all for it. I feel like this is also dice testing out potentially controversial mechanics near the end of the games service for next game. They did this for 4, 5, and 1 in the past it makes sense they would use the current game to test some of these ideas for the next game. Makes sense gun feel would be included in that.
Good change, glad that they are doing this. If devs tend to ONLY LISTEN to the community feedback, then it might not be that good, but when its partly about their idea and partly about community then thats sweet spot for game's future.
"some metas may change and we look forward to your feedback" translation "we have no idea how to balance weapons but after two years of trying we resorted to this without testing"
I’m not only all in on that, but I’m excited for it. I’ve been requesting this for a while now.. Modern warfare two had too much visual recoil. 2042 was almost absent. Games like modern warfare three does handle it pretty well and the guns feel good and that’s one thing I like about cod. Battlefield one also, did it very well. I can’t wait to try it for myself. Not a game changer but i think it will positively add something to the experience and immersion.
@@bruceknee1825 People did not ask for better animations in season 1 or the run camera shake in season 5 yet they did. They think it will make the game feel better. It’s polishing the game. @@bruceknee1825 It might fell more organic. Kinda of like the camera shake while running animation. It feels less floaty when you run now. They did the same with vehicles. Honestly, this has been a thing that's needed in Battlefield. I don't think it affects the gameplay at all, it just needs time getting used to. If only they'd do the same for reload animations...
I get it honestly. I feel like engagement ranges are massive in this game with almost any gun. Im almost strictly an ar user and ive out dualed snipers on multiple occasions

@@stephanegger9887but the problem with visual recoil is there is then a desync from where you are aiming to where your bullets actually go. Spread also does this, but with added visual recoil this will be even worse. Guns might feel more "punchy" but bullets don't go where you are aiming 😐
@@SMKGAMING visual recoil shouldnt affect the dot of your sight. Just everything around it. The dot itself should only be affected by the stats of the weapon. But it appears dice dont understand this.
I asked for this. Current gunplay feels so flat and boring, like we are shooting BB guns. Reticle stays on the enemy, bullets deviate. At least with mild visual recoil the punchy guns will feel more punchy.
If Dice pull off this change, it may be the biggest improvement to the game since launch. That's a big if however, especially with Dice. They are right tho, gunplay is too stiff. Every gun feels cheap and the same. Hopefully this makes it more satisfying without detracting from gameplay. Also, I'm curious how this will effect attachments and the attachment meta (will some attachments reduce visual recoil?)
This is recoil discussion is a great litmus test for the mental capacity of the average FPS player. If they think it's a good change, put them in an asylum.
This is exactly what so many were asking for, Ive hated how static and unimpactful the gunplay has looked. This is a great change that I’ve been waiting for personally
Just watched Ender's video about the topic. He is 100% correct. As always. me, personally, i'm totally for the visual recoil. i like it. and i explained why in my previous comments below. but as Ender's reveilled , it will be executed wrong. DICE keeping bullet spread and on top will add visual recoil. also they literally stated that sometimes bullets will go not where reticle will be pointing at. wow. this will absolutely be bad! you should either have bullet spread and no or very little recoil. like it is right now. which makes the game feel airsofty. or you must have visual recoil which will 100% show where bullets will land! that' it. i like option two. but DICE will mix both these options and it will make things worse.
@@Lead_Magnet_old They said that this will be along the lines of the 'improved sprint' animation. This also had a toggle where you could disable it (it's just a visual effect anyway in both cases).
@@mrmagmrmag The similarity was how obvious it will be to players based on their FOV setting. Nobody has said there will be an option to turn off the recoil change. DICE literally said that some bullets won't go where you are aiming, so yeah visual in the sense that what you see is not what is happening.
So if the visual recoil is being changed but not the actual recoil, won't that screw up people's aim anyway? Surely there will be a disconnect between what you see and what's actually happening leading to perhaps an over correcting of your aim.
Ultimately if you play the game competitively and aim to get good stats this is a bad change, if you play for immersion and like guns to feel more powerful and realistic (that’s coming from someone who hasn’t fired a gun before irl but it definitely looks more natural to me) it’s a good change

@@GazDaLad you clearly didn't play the game at that time. They messed with all the guns, how they shoot and the ttk. It sucked and was awful. If you liked that "patch" they did, then u must have a helmet strapped to your head!

They have moved the overall shake to the back reticle/sight. So while this looks like MORE recoil it is actually less. Watch the front reticle/sight. In the new version, it shakes much less. This is a GREAT improvement and should be in ALL games.
Here's the thing, though. This is not more realistic. For visual recoil like this to happen IRL the stock needs to shift around in your shoulder. If you're holding the rifle properly this does not happen. The stock is pressed firmly into the shoulder to provide proper bracing. Secondly, how in the hell is a much heavier LMG going to experience the same amount if not more visual recoil than an AR that is much lighter and thus absorbs much less of the recoil punch? Makes absolutely no sense.
I'm on the "let's wait and see" boat. From the videos they shared, I'm optimistic. I did feel that the weapons all feel very similar and I'm hoping this brings a unique feeling to each weapon.

Adding ww2 weapons to AOW/portal with modern attachments is something I've been wanting for a while, no pats use old tech or anything they can get their hands on, like how in current situations today it is happening, literally.
From the beginning it felt very plasticy. I was there at launch, than left for loooong time, and came back two weeks ago, and while game as a whole is much better, the only one thing that bothered me still was gun recoil. There is no "umpf" in shooting. So I'm glad they will change this a bit. From the videos it really looks like it's a minor change (very far from COD, i know cause i played all of them lately), but very welcome one.
I asked for this. Ever since MW2019, gunplay has not felt as “punchy” in other games as they did in that game. The new visual recoil is immersive and I enjoy it.
EA and Dice in the last 3 BF games (I, V and 2042) have shown that they dont hear their player base. So why are we even discusing here this changes? I think we are being used as guinea pigs for some stuff they might need getting tested. So, is a useless thing to do or try to impose. I agree there are a lot of stuff to be adressed before thinking about the feeling with a broken mouse input. Is useless, irrelevant and a waist of time. If they will really want our feedback, then be clear with what are they trying to achieve and at least once and for all tell us what things are they really focusing in and what they cant chage and why. Example: "We have realized that the mouse input issue is fixable but not for this game (because will take too much time / because the physics were wrong / any reason). We are focusing now in some changes we need to test for the next BF game and for that we need your feedback." At least we as players will know were are we standing on this and other topics we are asking to get fixed and what not. EA should know by now that the community does not trust them so at least with this kinda transparency we will not speculate that much and just play knowing that this is all we can expect from this game. But sending a guy that no one knows instead of some figure that we can identify is like saying to a diabetic "here, have a candy, Dr. is busy for you". EA, it is really simple: make a poll with questions that matter. That we as a community can say what really is important to solve now and what can be adressed in future BF game. Want feedback? Make that happen, is not that hard.
I mean no-one asked for this but I’ll admit the only difference I feel from most weapons are how much I need to compensate and rate of fire. A weapon you enjoy is a weapon you are usually alittle better with but do I trust them to draw the line. No, no I don’t. 😂
I would have liked to have seen the examples using red dots, not iron sights. Hardly no one uses iron sights. I am OK with this tho as I do not pay attention to the amount of visual recoil my gun has. I'm too busy wreckin noobs
Bro, when we have asked for this? Was it NEVER EVER!? We ask to fix the mouse input, the cheese movment, we ask for more content, maps, weapons! We dont want them to make our play harder, we want them to make our games more pleasing! Right, Ghost?
I'm all for DICE making changes that add more realism to the game. It is true that the gunplay and weapons feel bad in 2042. They need a lot of work, but the foundation of 2042 just feels bad, so it's like putting lipstick on a pig. I hate that they introduced bunny hopping, and knee sliding movement into the game. Yet, if those were removed "competitive" players like Enders would be up in arms.
This is a welcome change in my opinion and an exciting one too! Anything like this that makes the game feel more realistic is a big step in the right direction. It gives the guns their own unique feel, something that 2042 heavily lacks. Every gun in 2042 feels the same currently and it makes the gunplay boring after awhile. Not sure how to explain it. Would love to see suppression added as well!
@@CapStar362 Ah yes because Battlefield is so realistic, I also never ejected out of a jet to hit another jet with an RPG while in the air then get back landing perfectly in my jet' seat.. Dude I fry people across the map with the VHX-D3 all day it's not even fun anymore, like I said, this is better than a bloom or spread change but it still changes nothing, purely visual, they should've buffed and fixed those horrible animations vault weapons have Imo
I couldn't care any less about them tweaking the recoil of weapons and think it might make the game a bit better seeing just how accurate some weapons are at ranges they have no business being able to reach. If this rounds out the game, giving each weapon class more uniqueness and feel, so be it. I'm primarily a DMR main anyway, so as long as they don't mess them up any further... I'm good.
I think they are testing mechanics that will be implemented in the next BF game from the start, and using 2042 as testing platform, there is no logical explanation for this changes so late in the game life cycle.
I like this. I’m actually on board with this through and through. As important as adding weapon balancing and game mechanics are, visuals are just as important as it gives you that feel and sensation that you should get from playing a game like battlefield. I hope this goes well with the rest of the community as I believe that this might not have been a necessary change but definitely an important one.
Its important to not take Ender's takes seriously> Enders himself have been bitching for two years about "laser gun weapons" ... And now he's pretending to be mad about the guns now have a kick.
Fuck it, I asked for this. Guns have felt pretty samey and this seems like a good change. Also lol, lmao at competitive battlefield, I wish it was viable but time and time again its never happening, the game being tailored towards people who play once a week is honestly just a positive at this point
As I said on CADs video, I dislike recoil changes. You aren't shouldering a 25mm chain gun. A small arms platform simply does not rock around uncontrollably when shouldered as shown here. More of a nerf if anything by the looks of it, more clunk and clutter added to visuals.
I'm here for it too. It looks better and tbqh Battlefield is a relatively casual team-based combined arms sandbox, not a competitive shooter where you're the protagonist.
How about they add actual functional recoil to the guns? Visual recoil is just annoying. I hate how magnified scopes are useless cuz of recoil.....not only does the zoom amplify recoil already but then I swear the game gave them a ltitle extra kick to make using a magnified optic even more of a pita.
I'm all for it. Gun animations are pretty dull right now, there just isn't enough "oomph" and I appreciate that DICE, so far, isn't going overboard like MW2 did. MW2's chaotic recoil animations were awesome, but they were a bit much. MW3 has fantastic visual recoil that doesn't really affect gunplay but it gives you that satisfaction that your weapon has some meat to it. If 2042 could have visual recoil like MW3, that'd be awesome. Also, I'm totally OK with not being beamed from 150m because of visual recoil. This shit is getting old having weapons being far too good at range. Admittedly DICE could just make recoil less predictable on full auto but I don't think that's ever going to happen
Ghost, I really feel like this is a change they want to test to see if it's going into the next game. No one asked for it and it's 2+ years into the game, why add it now? I wouldn't be shocked if we see more of this the next year in BF2042
They're so addicted to shooting themselves in the foot. They'll add it, get tons of complaints, then months later admit on Twitter they have too many complaints, they'll say "we hear you" and then be forced to revert the horrible changes they made and suffer yet another embarrassment. Why do they even try? Why do they take L after L after L?
It definitely isn’t an L If you look at previous titles, there was a similar animation. The community has been asking for a return to original battlefield and although this isn’t anything close to it, it definitely reduces that “arcade” feel that everyone was complaining about and is a small step forward to achieving that original BF vibe. As important as mechanics and weapon balancing are, visuals are just as important. As stupid as it might sound, the visuals give the vibe and the vibe people are looking for is a battlefield one and this DEFINITELY gives a battlefield vibe.
Seeing how ARs and LMGs once against bouncing way off centre instead of staying on target but with high recoil once again proves Dice are after nerfing good players and giving it to noobs.
How about focusing on the cheaters / hackers. Then, create more new and remastered maps. Out of the top 10 needed tweaks to 2042, visual recoil is number 47.
Frankly speaking is not a bad addition, some machine guns and rifles feel like they are shooting BB's at least playing at 90 FOV. Don't really care about the recoil that much, what I do want are more maps, heck bring some of that "portal" goodness into the game, let us make our own games, 10 no pats vs 30 WW2 era soldiers and so on .. I wanna see a TOR against some Panzers.. but heck the game has 10k players right now it's as good as dead unfortunately

Funnily enough, Enders is the one making the biggest fuss about it right now on twitter lol
@@KamanZ10 exactly, him especially... He's part of the battlefield shitfest of a community lol. What is this shrieking about something so miniscule
Has nothing to do with to do with ,,roots,, its simply a Bad Change. Ang the reason that you say , its Not Even noticable tells everything.
@@Suren0He is the only content creator whos playing that game daily. So his opinion is base on facts…
I think bfV had very good gunplay. It was somewhat challenging but also fun. (controller player)
Yeah, it was actually fun
"some metas may change and we look forward to your feedback" translation "we have no idea how to balance weapons but after two years of trying we resorted to this without testing"
I actually like this change, the BF2042 visual recoil animations and gunplay looked pretty outdated and janky in my opinion.
Im a bad way ….
WHO hat asked for this…
@@bruceknee1825 People did not ask for better animations in season 1 or the run camera shake in season 5 yet they did. They think it will make the game feel better. It’s polishing the game. I don’t think it will make it worst. BF1 had good visual recoil. It will make it feel less beamy, i welcome it. Probably there will be an off switch to it anyways
@@shawnyscore6988 the gunplay will not feel better by adding visual recoil … not quite sure how anybody can think that.
@@bruceknee1825 It might fell more organic. Kinda of like the camera shake while running animation. It feels less floaty when you run now. They did the same with vehicles. It might feel better with the guns. We shall see. Maybe it wont. But I like the immersion aspect of Battlefield and I think this might help that aspect. Like I said. BF1 did a great job with visual recoil.
I’m all for this. 2042 is starting to inch ever closer to having the great animation work seen in BF1 and BFV
Its Not even close to BF1 And BF5….
Not even close. It's more akin to Bad Company 1 and 2 if you ask me.
Dice are the experts at adding things that nobody asked for
But this is a good thing
@@MorganFizz Not really. It's only visual. No changes to actual recoil from my understanding
@@MorganFizzThis is not, in fact, a good thing.
@@MorganFizz This makes the game objectively worse to play.
@@BourbonBandit- wait WHAT THE FREAK DICE
I'm definetly with SMK here, visual recoil adds nothing, it's all artificial etc. Not looking forward to those changes out of nowhere.
But excellent video Ghost, informative and with jet gameplay on background, that's what I come here for :)
I mean it should be Like that. I dont want more recoil, i Just want the guns to feels less Like an Airsoft gun
I don't particularly care. I'll just adapt to the changes.
This is recoil discussion is a great litmus test for the mental capacity of the average FPS player. If they think it's a good change, put them in an asylum.
Visual recoil = Less people play your game. People who play the game play it less.
No Visual recoil = More people play the game and for longer.
This is exactly what so many were asking for, Ive hated how static and unimpactful the gunplay has looked. This is a great change that I’ve been waiting for personally
Enders also didn’t like 2042’s gunplay. So better let dice add this visual recoil and then we give our feedback afterwards.
Ender's is also a man child and shouldn't be the say in what is good or bad. Insufferable.
Visual recoil? That will be THE FIRST THING I will disable after installing the update.
Lol you think they're gonna give us a toggle? This is a base recoil animation change that we will all be forced to use, like it or not.
What makes you think that will be an option?
@@Lead_Magnet_old They said that this will be along the lines of the 'improved sprint' animation. This also had a toggle where you could disable it (it's just a visual effect anyway in both cases).
@@mrmagmrmag The similarity was how obvious it will be to players based on their FOV setting. Nobody has said there will be an option to turn off the recoil change. DICE literally said that some bullets won't go where you are aiming, so yeah visual in the sense that what you see is not what is happening.
Adding Visual Recoil That Nobody Asked For? Ive been asking for this since lunch...
So if the visual recoil is being changed but not the actual recoil, won't that screw up people's aim anyway? Surely there will be a disconnect between what you see and what's actually happening leading to perhaps an over correcting of your aim.
Thats exactly what it will do. Thats why people that are more competitive like enders arent happy about them implementing it.
Ultimately if you play the game competitively and aim to get good stats this is a bad change, if you play for immersion and like guns to feel more powerful and realistic (that’s coming from someone who hasn’t fired a gun before irl but it definitely looks more natural to me) it’s a good change
Already fix input lag???
Typical RUclipsr arguing battlefield should have cod gameplay. I miss the punch and authentic recoil of bf3 and bf4
Oooooohhhh this looks good, like the older bfs, it’s little things like this that makes or breaks a good bf game

I'm going to level with you -- I can't tell the difference. I'm glad they're investing in game improvements but this is a bit of an odd one to lead with in my opinion. In any event, roll on Season 7 and let's get some new content! Hope the rumour about a new Jet is true, sounded cool.
Probably true that no one have asked for more visual recoil. But alot of people have said they love battlefield for the realism and immersion.
Which is also a big reason why I love battlefield.
So I don't mind these changes. It will add to the immersion of gameplay.
They did this in BF5 and it was a complete nightmare!
No it wasn't.
@@GazDaLad you clearly didn't play the game at that time. They messed with all the guns, how they shoot and the ttk. It sucked and was awful. If you liked that "patch" they did, then u must have a helmet strapped to your head!
@@thomasoneill5877 all they did in bfv is mess with the ttk. I played during that and it sucked. When did I ever claim to have liked that? Either way how has that got anything to do with Visual Recoil. Bfv was perfectly fine when it came to that.
They have moved the overall shake to the back reticle/sight. So while this looks like MORE recoil it is actually less. Watch the front reticle/sight. In the new version, it shakes much less. This is a GREAT improvement and should be in ALL games.
biggest problem is with bullet velocity in this game ,it is basically hit scan compared to past bf games.
They should make a CTE for such things -_-'
if they add crazy amounts of visual recoil then they will be helping no one but controller players and screwing mouse players
BF2042 at launch:
-weapons looks and shoots horrible like a lazer, theres no recoil and no Spread, looks like a COD 4 weapons shooting peas, what happened with DICE with the realistic weapons feeling what BF3/4?
this patch:
EWWWW BF its not a mil sim, its an Arcade game bro!
Gotta love flip flopping battlefield fans.
Honestly isn't even bad but people are actually comparing it to MWII which blurred the whole area you were aiming at while this lets you see what your shooting at like past- (Not you BF1) BF games.
The guns now does not have any feel in them so this may help actually. Also I think the recoil looked good and more fun to shoot. The M5 in the video had a red dot sight. It's funny all those yourubers who complains about this are the same people crying that the weapons lack feeling and you can just snipe with an M5. Well know they get that feeling they cried about and still aint happy
yh im down for a bit of visual recoil, the guns in this game with the exception of the SCAR-H with the heavvy drum mag all felt like bb guns with zero recoil. sure its more satisfying and user friendly but it just feels fake af
Adding ww2 weapons to AOW/portal with modern attachments is something I've been wanting for a while, no pats use old tech or anything they can get their hands on, like how in current situations today it is happening, literally.
dog everyone asked for this, guns in this game feel like shit because they're all lasers, there's no weight or sense of immersion in any of the guns.
I won't mind the change if the game feels more like a battlefield game..
We are focusing now in some changes we need to test for the next BF game and for that we need your feedback."
At least we as players will know were are we standing on this and other topics we are asking to get fixed and what not.
Make that happen, is not that hard.
visual recoil was fixed in battlefield 4. yet they added it back every game since, truly acoustic
I mean no-one asked for this but I’ll admit the only difference I feel from most weapons are how much I need to compensate and rate of fire. A weapon you enjoy is a weapon you are usually alittle better with but do I trust them to draw the line. No, no I don’t. 😂
I like it, gunplay feels arcade like and way too easy.
I would have liked to have seen the examples using red dots, not iron sights. Hardly no one uses iron sights. I am OK with this tho as I do not pay attention to the amount of visual recoil my gun has. I'm too busy wreckin noobs
Yeah I hope it's not going to be as noticeable as some people fear it is
Bro, when we have asked for this?
Uh oh its bf5 all over again
Nah I take this over more bloom/spread all day, weapons in 2042 are still going to be lasers, shit's ridiculous.

@@RilezGameryou entirely missed the point, but thank you for trying.
I wish they did something about pilot sweats dominating rounds with like 48-0...
Dont care about visual recoil. Where's the new maps? Where are the new guns and vehicles? Where are the interesting new game modes?
finally they fixed this issue, I really hate how guns in bf2042 feel like plastic guns
Players: Can we get a server browser? Dice: Nope.. but how about some visual recoil!?
I like this. I’m actually on board with this through and through. As important as adding weapon balancing and game mechanics are, visuals are just as important as it gives you that feel and sensation that you should get from playing a game like battlefield. I hope this goes well with the rest of the community as I believe that this might not have been a necessary change but definitely an important one.
Its important to not take Ender's takes seriously> Enders himself have been bitching for two years about "laser gun weapons" ... And now he's pretending to be mad about the guns now have a kick.
This kind of reminds me of the BFV mess when they changed the TTK that nobody asked for. Then they reverted it. GG.
Finally, 2042 guns feel like airsoft guns. In BF1 guns feel amazing and immersive.
This right here.
It definitely isn’t an L
If you look at previous titles, there was a similar animation.
We're the beta testers for the next BF game and this is their testing ground.
The best was BF3 gunplay recoil and the overall feeling to shoot guns.
If they get it right its good but we will see
Frankly speaking is not a bad addition, some machine guns and rifles feel like they are shooting BB's at least playing at 90 FOV.
Ghost, trust me this is going to be a good change
They test this feature for this game to make sure if it should be in the next title maybe
Could be.
Brooooooo they just made a change to gun recoil!!? How about a Quick change to DESTRUCTION!!
DICE adding a change that nobody asked for?
