That's the thing. She's not criticized for the right things. The fact that she is still (after looking at her apology about the Masterson support I'm quite sure she is) very much involved in scientology is the concerning part, not that she is a bad singer (which she is not), or that she should not be replacing Chester (which she is neither).
I just hope that this gets people seriously concerned about scientology.

I'm pretty sure, that after working with Emily for 5 Years behind the scenes, they picked the best possible person for the job. Her past included.

I don't know if she can do the old songs well. But that new song they did was fantastic! She certainly sounds like Linkin Park.
This is the same kind of crap that happened a couple of years back with a band I liked called Flyleaf.. Their singer left and they got someone new who a lot of people liked.. but then the Internet won and the lady could not take anymore and left.. the response to Emily as the new singer is very positive for the vast majority. There's just a loud minority who get off on spreading hate and being outraged over everything. Emily is a human being and who cares if she made mistakes in her past, we all do. That's how we grow. Her message to address it was very sincere anyway.
She did a great job, the pressure must be overwhelming in the shadow of Chester and the huge fan base. But she pulled it off. Respect to her and the band, may those that needlessly hate find whatever it is in their life causing them pain because those in suffering usually are the ones spitting hate into the world. If you live with love there is no room for hate.

I trust Mike and the band, based on Zane lowe’s jnterview they had time to hang out with Emily and got to know her more before they decided to ask her to be part of the band, I think they are in a better position to tell her character than the rest of us

And we have our own human trafficker parallel government cults which are popular in celebrities in here too. And they do horrible things to people beyond the walls. I know they didn't want to do a trilogy album after Meteora but they really should of done it. The only album I consider decent to listen to after Meteora is ATS. I think all of this backlash is ridiculous. Emily thought she was just supporting a friend, but when she realized that her friend was a rapist, she bailed. This was back in 2013. It's 2024. She doesn't deserve all of this now. Besides, her only crime was a lapse in judgement.

I am on Linkin Park & Emily's side! %100, also going to LA on the 11th, to see them live for there first tour stop, at Kia Forum, Sec 126 row 9 seat 5. Been this will be my second concert I seen LP, first was during the 2004 Projekt Revolution Tour, in Phoenix at the Cricket Pavilion. Chester would have wanted his fans, and friends to be happy and celebrate life, honor his legacy by giving people around the world the message LP was intended to deliver. That massage is special and personal to each and every fan, but for me it helped me with depression, and not feeling alone, during my dark times growing up. The fan base and the band's legacy is stronger then the cancel woke cancer that has destroyed society.

A lot of bands moved forward when they lose a member regardless the reason. I understand vocals can serve as the identity of a band and replacing a talented singer like Chester is an impossible endeavor. But LP wants to move on. Emily needs to be supported by the band and it's inner circle as she will face mayhem in all kinds of media and even sometimes during shows.

I don't know who "they" are, but I certainly didn't want them back. I connected with their old songs because of Chester, how he poured everything into them. I think it would've been better with new band and new songs. Not sure I would connect with that, but that doesn't matter.

Either you like the music or not. Plenty of musicians, actors, athletes, etc. have politics I disagree with, but people are allowed to believe and support what they want. This isn’t revolution-era China where you police everybody’s thoughts and beat them into agreement, nor should it ever be that way.
As for criticisms about the band choosing Emily as Chester’s replacement from a musical standpoint, it’s their band and they can make whatever decisions they want. It’s not Chester’s band. His family doesn’t have any right to object or complain about his replacement, and neither do any of the fans.
Personally I think it makes perfect musical sense. Chester’s ability was so rare that it’s actually much easier to find a female singer who can duplicate his parts than to find a comparable male singer, and she sounds great.

The whole situation is iffy. Sure, she has a lot to do to justify herself of which I'm sure she is trying to express, but then there is talent. She's no Chester but she is definitely a great fit to reinvent the band. People need to understand she isn't trying to replace Chester, she is there to do her part in continuing the bands legacy, to help those who need it (like myself) to have some sort of therapy and connection. I say give her a chance and don't define who she is as an artist with what she has done in the past. It's like that saying, don't judge a book by it's cover...

On the part of replacing Chester ... no, no one will ever replace him. However, bands move on. Did Metallica quit when Cliff was killed? Did AC/DC quit when Bon Scott died? Think of all the great music that came from these two bands AFTER the great loss each suffered. And that's just 2 bands Why can't LP do the same? Stop the hate. Too many people are using hindsight knowledge. I bet most of them have regret over someone they knew or some action they did in the past that they'd rather forget too. For me, I think she's doing a great job. That single screams "Linkin Park" to me. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
