Dear Brittany and Daniel,
For us it’s weird to see such a huge area around the drag racing track with so many old cars completely redesigned for housing extremely big engines. I love American cars especially the models out of the 60’s. Unfortunately you have to be half a billionaire with us to be able the nowadays petrol prices. To give you an idea: 1 gallon is equal to 3,7854 liter because in Europe we’re used to work with liters. The nowadays less expensive petrol pice per liter in our country is € 2,069 (with Texaco)
So 3,7854 liter times € 2,069 = € 7,8319926 (say € 7,83) per gallon
The rate of the Euro against the dollar is 1,07 so € 7,83 times 1,07 is $ 8,3781 (say $ 8,38) per gallon
When we look to prices in the USA with petrol stations the shown prices are very low for us.
As a remark I’ve to inform you that in the Netherlands the price is the highest in Europe but only Luxemburg has a for us attractive price .
Send you love from the Netherlands
The technology advancements that have came out for the old cars in the past several years is incredible. I’d be scared to say how much money goes into the extremely fast 6 second cars in 1/4 mile that they’ve been racing on this week. Gas isn’t so bad over here in the Southeast typically $2.50-$4. That is crazy it costs that much for fuel there.
Now these are real cars! At least most of them are. Anyone can learn how to keep these classics running, easily,
Yes! We work on late model cars for the public during the day and nothing beats the simplicity of working on the old vehicles. Most of the time they just want to run again.
Is this the car you’re driving?… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_F-Series_%28fourth_generation%29
That one is older. We are the 1977 F150 “Shop Truck” for this trip.
