  • Small camper vans with kitchens and toilets are always popular. Possibly the most popular van I filmed in 2018 was the Bresler Mobil DK Junior. I also take a walk around the Bressler stand at Caravan Salon and then around their neighbourhood. As always, if you see anything you like then let me know and I will try to film it at the next event I go to.
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

A good explanation of the vans. I am amazed by the folding beds and perticularly the toilets..
The toilets are well placed, spaced and looking awesome within these vans.
    Thank you, Alan!

What I like about the 17 foot length with bed up top concept is that the space below is sufficient for a proper shower where you don't have to sit on toilet during shower. To bad none of these are for sale in the USA. One wonders why is that? Plenty of buyers on this side of the pond with cash in hand ready to buy cool stuff.

Totally agree with all you said. And I'm totally baffled why here in the States, no one is creating these for the market here 🤔 Why not produce a small batch of rigs like this for the USA market, test the market and see how it sells? Instead, all of us Americans get to drool over these Euro rigs and our cash sits in our pockets. Or we spend a hundred thousand on some conversion company, always with big compromises like no real bathroom, or no overhead sleeping area...But I'm patient and am waiting till the day we can get these here!

Look up Autoshippers, they can ship one of these to the US for less than 2k from Rotterdam or the UK to Jacksonville or even NY (NY is more expensive).
So you can buy one in Europe, plan a holiday and use an export license plate with insurance for say a month and travel around Europe and at the end of your holiday ship it back home to the US.
Combine a holiday with your purchase :)

Santa Monica ....These ones, at 89k Euro, are about 100k USD, and are indeed very small. The North American ones, are typically a few metres longer, and possibly wider. In my view both European and American RV's are expensive, but if used as an alternative to housing, then perhaps not so much...
I could not imagine living full time in one of these very small European ones, but they do have their advantages..(most would fit in parking garages, and on ferries might be cheaper, since some are within car-sized ferry pricing.....Somethings I like about the pre-built ones vs DIY builds are: Brand new vehicles, so warranties apply (don't have to take on someone else's pre-wrecked van) and they don't have portapotties nor do they have composting toilets. On the downside, 1) there are indeed very expensive and 2) Since they are pre-built, you don't know how that insulated the vehicle, and this is very important both to keeping cool in summer and warm in winter 3) The generally don't come with woodstoves, which I would definitely want.

    • @fishernate
      @fishernate 4 года назад

Remlat Zargonix Another big advantage of the prebuilt ones (here anyway) is that you can finance them which makes them a viable alternative to housing. You can finance one of these vans for about half the price of an average rental one bedroom apartment in my city. Unfortunately, we don’t have these nifty European ones to choose from.

The more I look at these modern motors the more I keep thinking of just whacking in an abarth 1.4 turbo engine in my old trafic and maybe rejigging the furniture. Will work out far cheaper I think!

Alan, ask these camper builders to raise the power rear bed to the ceiling, makes it much easier to walk moto up the ramp and into the van without hunching my back. It's not a good feeling with a low ceiling.

I like small vans but a standard van width is a deal breaker. You would think Fiat and Renault etc would make a wide body van (eg 2.2M or similar) straight out of the factory for the ever growing campervan market. Surely the extra width would be useful for trades people too, so it would add value across the board.

This company is too small to export - they can sell more than they can make locally! However the design is not unique to them and I am surprised that no-one has tried to do something similar.

I agree with the sentiment as there are a lot of cheaper vans around. Interesting however it's not that much more than a Volvo XC90 hybrid with some options!
Because they are big vans in general people think they are expensive but the very low depreciation of a decent make and model and the silly high prices of cars today means that quite a few cars on the road today cost their owners far more money than my camper cost me :D.
This years Porsche Boxster 718 starts at £45k so that's also right in the German 6m campervan price bracket. So compared to cars the vans are not that pricey IMO, but compared to hotels of course they are, unless you price them as (price_paid - residual_value) at which point they become quite economical.
A campsite with room service would be useful - pay a little more for someone to clean, empty and refill your van and deliver meals and drinks - that must be the next step :)
