I don't think it's really their fault. When you search about India you'll find negative comments, news first...so we can't really blame them. Also understanding other countries ethics, traditions can't be fully done by just sitting and researching. Even we misinterpret other countries traditions ,culture sometimes. It will be much more better if the directors and producers can discuss with some expert before showing about other countries.

@DEE 304 Arghyadeep Mahato may be your not watching the idols interviews . Korean (not every one) they judge their looks, they judge their outfit , and also judge their body shape, and that's why many of the idol committed suicide. They means(idols) so that's why I called them racist.
And the answer is not everyone is racist and a I also mansion I thought they are racist or something like that it's just I thought ok.so don't judge me and I am first time commenting about that because I watch so many Korean drama and also k-pop idols interviews and anything about that. everytime they are showing us something about India they just acknowledge about Indian culture and everything so I am disappointed everytime that's why I commented this ok. And I am realy like Korea so don't judge me my brothers and sisters😊 we all are a same creatures of the world so everyone has their own point of view so don't acknowledged me also love you 🇰🇷 . 🥰🥰🥰 and I am not talking like that Or commenting. Every country has their own internal issues. Also, racism isn't just based on looks. Racism includes caste, creed, colour etc. which is way more in India when compared. Also, Indians are racist against their own people in the East. So, we have no right calling any country racist.
What they are depicting shows lack of their authentic sources. They might not find India interesting to research much upon it. And you cannot pin it on someone for their lack of interest. It is for our country to rise and shine rather than begging for mere identification.

I'd like to mention something to the ones saying that they weren't mocking and were just tryna make it funny, let me make one thing very very clear. When you are trying to make something funny, you are supposed to input some entertaining ideas and not be overdramatic just for the sake of comedy. I personally think this indeed is a mockery of our culture. Specifically the monk part, that Spicy Chicken Noodles one and that Kim Ji Won's dance (definitely no hate to the actors). Comedy and Mockery are a two very different terms and there's always a proper way and a limit to create comical scenes. Once you go beyond that limit, that thing is no longer considered laughable, and thus it becomes a mockery.

I’ve seen this problem with so many countries that don’t get immigrants (like Britain and America). In America, we’ve had so much time to see different cultures with our own eyes and learn about them that we have more common knowledge than a lot of other countries. I’m not excusing Korea’s portrayal of India or desi people in general, but it’s obvious it doesn’t come from a harmful place (like a lot of racism in America and Britain), but rather a place of ignorance (which can be just as bad as physical harm). I really wish they would do more research and not just go off of the one or two popular Bollywood movies they’ve seen, or the global view countries have of the desi community because of misrepresentation in American and British media.

This is just my opinion but as an Indian, we also have to take responsibility for perpetuating such negative stereotypes. Although it is indeed disrespectful to portray Indian culture in such a mocking way, I also think that Indian media depicts a negative view of other Asians.
For example, everyone in East Asia is considered "Chinese" regardless of their actually nationality. We place stereotypical standards on them such as being Sumo Wrestlers, having mono-lids and even mocking their language as some gibberish.
Of course, it is not right to mock someone's culture and it hurts to be looked down up but I think we should look inwardly before judging and correcting others.
Perhaps, we can encourage Bollywood to change its attitude on other cultures by petitioning for a cause. This way, we can set an example as a country and easily influence the moral conscience of other countries.

While i dont particularly care much for incorrect Indian portrayal in Korean media, i do have to object at the utter idiocy of the fact, that they could even think that Indians would ask for lassi at a korean cafe.
Like come on, we arent that stupid

I know maybe it's hurts people feeling being a honourable Indian, but it not totally there fault it not racism or discrimination it's all out of un awareness. Just think about it, even by kpop or kdrama they try to introduce the best of there culture, and that's why we know a lot about there history and tradition but in India do you ever saw Bollywood promoting India and our culture, it never goes unnoticed by my eyes how most of the film and music vedios are filled in western countries else then India, ALL our country is running for is following western traditions and we focused only on awaring people about what bad is going on in India and never try to promote good side, please once have a look on web series of Bollywood you will find out, ( ashram, patal lok ) and so many more which only shows bad side of India I am not saying it's wrong but foreigners watching it absolutely they get bad mind set, I am not saying that it's wrong but we should also show people good side of our country and culture. So, let's not jump into conclusion and only blame one side. 😊💜

If seen many kdrana and interviewd of kpop ideals and others..... The thing I got from that... They take indian people as inferior to them....its good to value your culture and prosperity... But when your culture makes you to defame other culture or heritages.... Then they must check their roots.... And according to me.... SK people feels more shallow and less thinkers.... Who lives for entertainment and lavish lifestyle..... I wonder if they really know the meaning of life and culture.
