- have I found another Beatles Grail,an album only release for USA military in Germany and maybe Switzerland from 1964, and only released in small numbers, any information on this would be greatful, anyway hope you enjoy this video of my latest find, cheers, Beatle Dave

Congratulations on getting married, I hope you and Suzie had a magical day. I hope to get back to Derbyshire one day. I so much want to go to the Peak District. My dad was born in Belpher. There are 2 version of this album released Germany in 1964 with slightly different labels. The version you have median sale price on Discogs is approx £55 and the highest someone paid for paid for the item is approximately £160. There is currently 2 for sale on Discogs, 1 for 55 USD and 1 which closely compare to yours for 120 USD. I think you have done extremely well with the purchase of that album.

Though Capitol milked The Beatles releases with every possible track, The Beatles Second Album is stellar as it is pure high adrenaline rock and roll with no ballads. I love it!

Congrats on the marriage and finding the LP. Really nice, rare find. I think going to record stores on one's honeymoon is a brilliant idea !

I believe that this LP was sold to " Allied " military forces in West Germany and in West Berlin in 1964. Not just US military forces. Also UK and French military.
And not sold in Switzerland as Switzerland is a neutral country with no foreign forces/ bases in the country.
The record was released there on 13 July 1964 and the LP with the same photo the US Capitol release " Something New" was not released until a week later on 20th July 1964. So it is the US album that uses the German LP cover photo, not visa versa.

Hi Dave. And welcome back mate!!! I hope you all are just doing well, and this is just great for you!!! On to the Vinyl and wow yes you did get something. verry rare indeed!!! The back is not too bad. As a friend sad to me you only play the Record lol. But you did get a something verry rare like I was saying just wow. Now you have two great thing a cool Album. And a great new Wife too mate. I do wish we did live closer the fore of us would have a lot of fun and I am sure we would get along well :). The Record sure dose look to be in great shape wow!!! You got this for a wild price for us in the US it would be $ 43.24 WOW WELL DONE YOU for finding this :)!!! Enjoy. I do understand about her not wanting to be on video.
