Glad it worked out. Bad butterfly! How the heck does that happen? How did you set your mix screws? I had mine out 11/2 and it was mushy and the lower speed was lazy. Tried about 11/4 and what a difference. It did point out their importance though. Never had luck with the setting method in the sevice manual, thought of using Color Tune, but for one bike once, not worth it. I am in Southern Ontario, are you in the US?
Not sure how the butterfly got damaged, but you can see it towards the beginning of the video. It was all chewed up. I haven't messed with the fuel screws after setting them on the bench, but the idle/pilot mixture seems OK. I'm in Tacoma, Washington.
@AbandonEarth911 About using the correct gasoline! At that time, Japan had already been using "green" UNLEADED petrol for several years from the mid-1970s. We in Europe were still driving with "red" leaded petrol at that time, with the result that after having driven thousands of km (with mine CBX 25000km) the engine no longer turn idled. Checking the problem showed that almost all cylinders lost compression!!! When opening the cylinder head, the mechanics saw small cracks between the valve seats!!! It has taken Honda a lot of time to get behind this problem. I remember when I picked up my new cylinder head at Honda-Belgium in Aalst, there were already dozens of cylinder heads on the floor with the same small cracks between the valve seats.Since then I tank Unleaded 98 Oct. I haven't had any more engine problems. So if you own a CBX, ALWAYS TANK UNLEADED PETROL !!! and don't add leaded supplements... because you already hear that said for "old-timers" So again... DON'T DO supplements IN !!! it was in 1978 when Honda released this CBX! I bought it in July of that year. Two years later I had crossed all of Europe (Northern Cape / Tarifa) and as far as East Asia Gürbulak. I had 56,000 Miles on the counter! The CBX is still in my possession. Until today I still drive it!
That's great information and little known history. Thanks for commenting. I'll definitely keep the lead out! It sounds like you've enjoyed a wonderful bond with your machine. Keep on motoring...
Did I miss something, you indicated that you will be doing a vid on carb sync, all I saw was the end results. Hope i am wrong but did not see any tinkering other than pointing things out.
You're correct. I didn't film the actual adjustments, sorry. However, I'll be going back in. I've decided the needles still aren't right. In the next video, I'll be sure to include the actual adjusting of the individual carburetors. Again, I apologize for not including that footage. Thanks for commenting

Will the CBX run okay on unleaded petrol? Thank you.
Yes, I run ethanol free, ninety two octane. Ethanol free because I don't want to have to take those carbs off again.
Hopefully!
