Thank you very much for this tutorial. I’ve tried the Life Staff/Void and wasn’t blown away. I’m going to try this Life Staff//Flail-Shield today using your video. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your videos.
Great guide! You inspired me to play LS/Flail when researching what I'd wanted to do in this game before it re-launched and I've been loving the playstyle so thank you! I also wanted to say that I swap two of the LS passives Spirits United & Absolved for Enchanted Justice and Protectors Touch. I also swap Happy Flails for Cured Flailment as well as Reductive Superiority for that Debilitating Extension. This way I have that extra survivability for when I dive into the fray with the Flail and can opt to boost my flail combos healing by opening with a few heavy LS hits beforehand. For the flail I like using Arcane Smite + Arcane Vortex + Heavy Attack + Arcane Eruption which helps maximize/extending the impairment debuff alongside the Power Stone flails own weaken effect. The only passive that I waste is Ironclad Superiority since I'm using the Featherweight + two heavy armor pieces over using the Round Shield. Which is okay for me since I dont really NEED that extra damage and I do still use the passive in my Paladin tanking set that has a Tower Shield with full heavy armor. As a big fan of your content I would be grateful to see what you have to say about this build and again thank you for being the best creator for LS/Flail guides. Keep up the good work and take care!
Nice Vid Ive also been trying out the Flail/Shield after taking over a year break from New World and really liking it. Wasnt sure at first what Combo I wanted to go with but since I used to Heal when New World first started I decided so far to go back to a Life Staff. I like to try all the weapon Combos and always enjoy seeing others perspectives to make a balance that works best for me. Pc/KeyBoard plyr. 👍
I used your controller keybonds the first playthrough I did and now playing on a fresh start I've started playing left hand dualsense controller and right hand Razer v2 hyperspeed MMO mouse. Thanks for your build videos. They are awesome:)
@gingerlovesmmos I've been theory crafting a PVP build that uses accelerating lights embrace on staff for 30% move speed. You can harvest essence with void gauntlet and then run. With perk from bottom of right LS tree you get 20% extended haste, 20% from glowing focus, 20% for 200 points into focus, and then if you alarcy on amulet it's another 20% for a total of 10 seconds of 30% haste. What abilities would you do on LS with lights embrace and what would you pair with VG abilities to go with it? Also been considering LS Bow, to try and hit the 50% haste max.
heavy attack will only heal ally if you have mending touch and purifying breeze and you actually remove a debuff. Splash of light will also only remove debuff if it actually heals sadly.
For open world content i would pretty much always take Orb over splash of light , but i feel like splash is better for group content such as expeditions. Love the flail life staff combo as you said it really gives off a Paladin type of feel.
I am looking at this, but i use controller. I was hoping as a controller user you would have more towards that style for healing. I can MnK on PC, but i love the easy flow with a controller since I am used to it from my console games. Id love to see healing help on controller.
If this doesn't help answer that question, please let me know and I'll make a direct response to it, but hopefully it helps. ruclips.net/video/akyrx5cHmbc/видео.html
Love your vidéo! Im very hesitate betweet this playstyle and a tanky flail playstyle I dont know if flay could keep the Agro decently. Do you have a build or some advice please ? Im lvl 16 actually.
question, a few of the abilities mentions allies, what defines an ally? does it have to be someone I'm grouped with or can it also be random players in the same area of effect?
I'm actually using this now, over Void Gauntlet as secondary. Its a bit more dangerous being within melee range, and you do lose the stamina regen from VG, but to me it's a more fun healer playstyle. Imo The VG might be better overall though, it's just not as fun as the Flail, but it's also alot riskier so you could die to bosses while using flail skills and that could lead to a wipe and most definitely lead to your group thinking you're a bad healer.
I''m back in the same boat since i just came back ingo the game. I enjoy healing for dungeons and opr and the flail is much more fun. But before i took a break went through the same issue where people were like you have to have VG. They're not wrong but i to found it boring.
No I don’t think so. I just think since it’s melee you have to be very careful unless of course you’re rocking void blade which case you still have to be careful but again. I find the VG boring. The mace is just visually very pleasing and good but you might find some folks when it comes to M3s not taking you unless you have a VG. In PvP you basically have to use rapier cause it’s a really good escape. I’m sure there’s some damage combo builds you can use but for straight up healing in PvP, the rapier. Once you learn to use it right, it’s super clutch
@@burakaksoy9556 it honestly depends on your play style. If you want to be a Frontline healer go flail if you wanna be more behind the group go void. Even though void gauntlet is really good for the melee, the melee doesn’t really do anything as of healing. the flail does passive healing as you hit things and you and your allies get buffs when you’re near each other
So, the offhand will always be a support weapon, not the main way you heal. Usually, you will bring it based on its utility effects and how it can bolster your already strong healing life staff. Void Gauntlets have much better utility and a safer playstyle as it is ranged, and Flail offers a bit more healing and damage output with some defensive utility but you play in melee range and it's much riskier since you could easily die to cleave or aoe targeted at tanks. VG offers a HoT/aoe heal, Stamina regen, lifesteal on a boss/mob, and a root to help with keeping adds immobile. Flail offers higher burst healing via Flail attack skills(pbaoe), lifesteal, a defense buff to armor or 3 hits at 50% increased armor with a tether that further increases damage mitigation and has empower. My choice? Flail for lower tier content and easier expeditions, but VG for higher end content like raids and harder expeditions(m2/3).
Would it be fine if i used a larger shield for the flail? I understand id go into medium, but my survivability would go up a bit yeah? Reason i ask is bc i love the look of tower shields, i dont like small shields
@@shockblast5402 if you use the featherweight artifact you could use heavier armor/shield. I would suggest staying in light class as a healer tho, your healing is increased.
@@Jubafree I just started playing about few weeks ago so I don’t quite know, but I have an easier time finding/getting into a group when playing tank or healer. And all I see is dps players
I've seen Flail/Shield and Warhammer, but not a VG offhand from tanks. Biggest issue is you have no hard CC on VG skills, only a root which doesn't help against boss mechanics/skills, and the root is also a small frontal cone instead of an PbAOE. There are just better options for tanking, and while it could work with VG in lower level content, you might not see it in higher content. There is light tanking with a evade rapier build too, but that takes a much higher skill ceiling. People will take you regardless if you use VG or not, since tanks are so rare, but remember that if you lose aggro or can't stop a boss attack that you could have otherwise, it's your fault 😅
@@BoredAndBrowsing ehhh I don’t mind the heavy tanking but sns feels boring I been running great sword for the easy taunts but whenever I switch to my sns I get depressed lol
For this build, desperate speed over spirits united, all day... unless your DE, LE, Sacred spirits united is simply not need. Plus desperate speed is one of the better passive for LS overall no matter the build. I personally would also use protector's touch over glowing focus, but I think there could be an argument between them.
That last bit of the video was a pleasant surprise.
Thank you and God bless you for the message.
