Beautiful frame and beautiful bike. 1 point of criticism, that di2 cable from the chainstay that runs outside in front of the thru axle hurts your eyes, moreover, it can be damaged in a crash. Such a cable should come out of the end of the rear fork. This design was probably chosen because trek prefers to work with Sram Etap.
I also agree with the disadvantages of the Shimano Di2 cable route. However, it appears that Trek's focus is more on mechanical drivetrain compatibility for the Emonda SL's mid-tier bikes, not because Trek prefers SRAM.
Spent about 500 miles on it and so far so good. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA Pros:1. Very light2. Solid quality build3. Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)
Hi, I've got the exact same bike (54) but with ZIPP 404. I'm going to swap handlebars and put powermeter to next season. What width and reach do you have on your Aeolus RSL VR-C? How does it feels compare to the "stock handlebar"?
I use a 42-110mm handlebar and the reach was 100mm. The VR-C before the recall was not good because it was lighter but floppy, but the VR-C after the recall became a little heavier (maybe about 30 grams?), but the rigidity increased and it supported firmly even when holding the dropbar.
Hi I have order the same bike and I will receive it within few days. My question is what is the difference between the Bontrager and Shimano Wheels ? Aeolus are heaviest ? Shimano Dura Ace are more usefull for montain ? Thanks for your feedback
hello. There are some parts that are difficult to explain properly because I am not good at English. Aeolus is also a good wheel, but the reason why I chose the Shimano wheelset is that it is fully tubeless compatible (not TLR) and 2nd, there is a margin at the spoke intersection, so there is less risk of spoke noise that tends to occur in 2:1spoke pattern. Also, when I used the 9270 C60 on the Dogma F12, it felt good, so I put the C50, an all-round wheel, on the Émonda. I am satisfied with this choice with no regrets.
It's hard to advise. This is because Asians and Westerners have different body proportions and their flexibility is unknown. I recommend that you refer to the size chart provided by Trek.
😍 Trek is just the best …
Trek emonda is my bike when i was in poland
