Yes your point is valid, I have not seen MG Gloster physically because it's not available in Saudi Arabia, but if I compare it with MG RX8 then RX8 is a better option (more luxury, more space, bigger in size, more features etc.). But on other hand, Chery Tiggo is available in much cheaper price and that could be its selling point.
