Another unsung hero vocalist is Happy Rhodes. Look up her cd Building the Colossus. She got way less recognition than Regina but she is an incredible writer and more so an AMAZING singer. Her high & low ranges are equally strong. Hearing Building the Colossus I thought it was a band singing. The 1st song I heard was Down Down, which I thought was about dolphins, but it's about submarines. What woman writes a song about submarines? Her subject materials are crazy. Then I found out ALL of the vocals were her. Just her. And She Is Happy Rhodes. Find her. Enjoy her. It's all really old stuff. Her early stuff is more folksy. I think her last release was like 2005 and she's retired. Saw her live then. Incredible.
