I just did this on a 2011 CR-V and using a serpentine belt tool from harbor freight makes pulling the tensioner back a lot easier than using some other type of wrench.
AND I THOGHT VW was hard to work on......WHAT KIND OF ENGINEER puts a tensioner in the middle of the engine like that so hard to reach.....SORRY MAN HONDA HAS LOST MY BUSINESS....wont buy another one of these cars. Toyota or something else.
Never thought about rotating the pulley to get the last part of the belt on, great idea thx!

Its an inline four cylinder.... not a v6
