Both are fine. The centrifugal blowers are probably the easiest to install. I went with a turbo application so I could adjust the boost in the cab so the truck could run 87 octane to 104.
@RcRacer8 Several reasons, but primarily we chose to keep the orig frame rails up front so the I beam provides a lot of travel if you aren't center mounting your a arms.
Damn, nice truck!!! Any more info on it? What kind of front suspension/rear suspension, how much travel? What size engine? What size tires? And..... How much to build? Looks like a wicked cool truck. What is the roll cage made out of? Awesome job building that thing!
@VALsacount2 its a manual shift automatic. There is no drive gear. Several reasons. One is that with this hp and the loading and unloading of the rear end over jumps, a torque converter reduces load on drive train.
a 72 has the body lines which go in instead of out. the grill inserts are from a 70. The grill is actually molded into the front body clip and is a modification of a 1969 grill.
You are correct re the F100. Just habit saying f150. Re the grill, the black area is shaped from a 67-69. Then we re-shaped it to reduce its height and gave it a slight crown to make it more current. Then we used 72 grill inserts.
67-72 had the "bump" along the side of the truck. 73-79 is when it has a "dent" going along the side. the front of the f2000 looks most like a '72 grill. a 67-69 grill looks alot different than the 70-72 grill so it is based off a 72.and just fyi, there isnt a such thing as a '69 f150, its f100 :) . F2000 is still my dream truck!
This I beam set up is actually more expensive than had we built an A arm. Had we center mounted the a arms, the engine would be in the cab. It is a pre-reunner with a small cab so we opted for the twin I beam which offers more travel than the a arm in this situation. Try $70k motor
Not a stupid question. Its a common misconception. The turbo comes after the air cleaner. The turbo doesn't like dirt as much as your motor. So as long as you protect the turbo like you would a naturally aspirated engine, your ok. In the end, the turbo only cost hundreds of dollars to rebuild from damage, the engine is thousands.
There is no definition for a Trophy Truck, except that it is a class designation. As such since this truck has no rear frame rails it would fall into a TT category. TT's have changed over the years, early trucks were set up very much like this truck newer ones have 39" tires etcs. So by class rules and wheel travel, motor etc, it would fall into the TT category as defined by the rules.
4x4 means extra shit to try to carry gracefully through the air...for example, my 8000 pound cummins dodge just cant fly worth a shit, but man, can she pull. Not a ford guy but fordish twin beams from hell look like they are really doing their job, not to mention the rear suspension is sick too. that thing looks sexy smooth while eating little hills at a prodigious rate
i just jizzed all over accidently... not only have i never heard of a dezert vid with this kind of quality but the truck is fucking insane clean. to bad u cant keep a true class 7 or 1450 truck that clean for long hahah
Holly shit i just checked the web site on the end of the vid am i getting this right are yall actually making these trucks and selling them to the public?
Its such a sick ass truck, the only thing that bugs me is the i beams. If your gonna build a super sick looking truck like that why would you put i beams on it? Put some A arms on that thing and link it all the way around with Kings, damn thats such a sexy thought!!!! yeaaa!!!!!!
It is a manual shift automatic. There is no drive gear. It uses an automatic instead of a manual to utilize the torque converter. Manual transmissions with this much hp do not like the constant loading and unloading of the drive train over the bumps
I know maybe its a silly question: Are any manufacturers that make street legal versions of a trophy truck. Do not care about the brand. I only want to know if I can go and buy one from a dealer.
I gotta say, that is one sweet looking truck. I'm trying to fix up my 1976 pick up truck to transform it into a trophy truck as well.
Both are fine. The centrifugal blowers are probably the easiest to install. I went with a turbo application so I could adjust the boost in the cab so the truck could run 87 octane to 104.
I salute you sir, last truck i had was a 80's something bronco i was lucky would start each day
there isnt a word to describe how awesome that truck is. its about 3steps above awesomely sick bad ass truck
thats one saweeeeeeet rig man, sooo clean and omg that suspension looks like its cruising on a cloud.
Here I am 15 years later. BEAUTIFUL
@RcRacer8
Several reasons, but primarily we chose to keep the orig frame rails up front so the I beam provides a lot of travel if you aren't center mounting your a arms.
This is my fourth time watching this video. thats an amazing truck. Its like an ole skool cadillac how it skim across the dunes. I LIKE IT
That suspension is sick! Looks like you could drink hot coffee in top gear in that thing and not spill a drop. Nice job all the way around.
Damn, nice truck!!!
Any more info on it? What kind of front suspension/rear suspension, how much travel? What size engine? What size tires?
And.....
How much to build?
Looks like a wicked cool truck. What is the roll cage made out of?
Awesome job building that thing!
sick truck and hell yes fifth hour hero!!
awesome machine I love the silver / no sponsors combo , really nice. cheers
now that's a good looking trophy truck
@VALsacount2 its a manual shift automatic. There is no drive gear. Several reasons. One is that with this hp and the loading and unloading of the rear end over jumps, a torque converter reduces load on drive train.

brilliant stuff mate. what a toy. really great.
the suspension on this thing is insane!
@WeakSignaI
It sits level in a static position. When your on the gas it squats in the rear. This helps keep the nose up going over bumps
That is one sweet ride!
wow the suspension on that thing is incredible
i've seen this truck in lucas oil expo and its a one of a kind.
That thing is a BEAST
the nicest trophy truck ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
67-72 ford body, old cornbinder hood and grill...sweet.
I just watched this video again, like 15 times in a row
Thanks. They were custom designed by a leading Ford and Mitsubishi designer named Dan Ellis and Prototype concepts.
still remember this masterwork
The music destroyed the video
@yournamehere832 we Run a filter on it. A turbo doesnt like sand just as much as a naturally aspirated motor.

So as long as you protect the turbo like you would a naturally aspirated engine, your ok. In the end, the turbo only cost hundreds of dollars to rebuild from damage, the engine is thousands.
did you actually build it or did you have someone else do all the fab on it? who did the beams for you?
hey what brand are your fenders and bed sides? it a very nice truck!! it looks pretty bad ass.
nice truck, i would never turbo a pre runner but super clean truck
Nice truck to use as a base :)
Very nice man!!
Nice man! its looks like you have the suspension dailed so well that you wouldnt even feel most of those bumps lol.
Do you can build for another people this suspension , and how much it costs ?
look at that suspension go!!!!
Oh, and the shot of the turbo spinning, was accomplished by putting a camera after the air filter in front of the turbo.
You didn't even come close to flooring it in this vid, did you?... I wanna see her scream! :D beautiful though, love it!
It's still a good truck. someone needs to make one of these with an engine that has overhead camshafts and EFI. Plus an independent rear suspension.
No wobble, the threads extend up the shaft to the end, so its not a flush surface, giving the illusion of wobble.
is that kind of a modified twin i beam setup in the front hard to tell from the video everything is moving to fast
do they sell these on the market or was is custom built?
sweet truck! anybody know if they actually race it,and what class?
@SeizureBassist "What is the point in showing the compressor wheel?" Its good video. Absolutely we run it with the filter on it.
Exposed compressor wheel was for video effect only. The truck runs with full filtration
How do you keep that turbo from sucking in alot of dirt and sand?
Badass BEAST!
truck is sick
who made the truck? im looking to get one made.
this is mad max stuff
What made you go i-beam instead of a-arm?

@CONDLAUR yes ford just realeased one 2010 svt raptor sweet truck check it out
Just out of curiosity, how many MPG?
Where do i find the suspension for this i wanna put it on my tundra
@GameUrg Yes it is a manual valve body c6 automatic
4x4 means extra shit to try to carry gracefully through the air...for example, my 8000 pound cummins dodge just cant fly worth a shit, but man, can she pull. Has the truck raced in anything?
Where's the part with Top Gear? Oh, may bad. It's click bait, sorry for the misunderstanding...
@johnf2000

Automatic or Manual?
Badass Truck
i just jizzed all over accidently... not only have i never heard of a dezert vid with this kind of quality but the truck is fucking insane clean. to bad u cant keep a true class 7 or 1450 truck that clean for long hahah
are those trucks road legal?
@johnf2000 have you ran it in any desert races?
would you be willing to post a pic of the front and rear susp
None. You are correct. Just used as a basic description given the rest of the components
Holly shit i just checked the web site on the end of the vid am i getting this right are yall actually making these trucks and selling them to the public?
do you still have this truck ?
Yes it is registered and street legal
5th Hour Hero - "Playing Politics"
And Yes Indeed It Is!!
i see. mybad , i was faded when watching
wine test from tempurpedic would suit this
I need to borrow this motor for my 79 lol :D
@offspringfanman96 We set it up a little soft, since it is a pre-runner
is it 4wd?
@CONDLAUR
About the closest thing you can buy off the shelf is a Ford SVT Raptor.
Its such a sick ass truck, the only thing that bugs me is the i beams. If your gonna build a super sick looking truck like that why would you put i beams on it? Put some A arms on that thing and link it all the way around with Kings, damn thats such a sexy thought!!!! yeaaa!!!!!!

@johnf2000 sick!
What engine is that
Please tell me itis not carbureted.
DerTOD8580 I think it's a lockout shifter
want to do this to my 1990 ranger soooo bad (suspension wise)
owned!
I know maybe its a silly question: Are any manufacturers that make street legal versions of a trophy truck. Do not care about the brand. I only want to know if I can go and buy one from a dealer.

Its not a kit. The suspension is custom built
