I do all of my tires on this machine I was having a ton of problems trying to set the beads on the tire before you can air the tire up. I don’t mess around with a ratchet strap or anything else. I use the fire trick and it works painlessly every single time. I set the tire on the ground. Then I spray a little brake parts cleaner in between the tire and rim and over the tire onto the ground as a wick. I light the wick and it causes a little explosion inside the tire and forces both beads into place. I never struggle with this step anymore. Make sure you don’t use a lot of brake parts cleaner, ether, or any flammable spray etc. or this can be extremely dangerous. Less is more.
Keep your eye out at auctions or sales for one of those bead setter air tanks. I got ahold of one for $35 so I just fill it before I change the tire and use that instead of farting around with trying to set the bead. All my tires seem to need work on Sunday morning when I need to use the equipment they are on. Good video.
To make mounting the tire easier, put a clamp (or vise grips) on the rim to keep the tire from spinning and coming off. Or maybe use a clamp to pull the sides of the tire together. 😊 10:22
Just an observation: when you were installing the new tire you have the installer upside down. At the very end of the pole, the wide part has a notch that is designed to ride the rim and the narrow part faces upward and guides the bead downward over then rim. You would have had a much easier time using it correctly.
You could have brushed the sealant around the rim where you cleaned up. The sealant seals the bare metal. Good luck with the dump trailer tires. Thanks for the videos.
Now that you mention that I always see the tire shops put sealant/lube on the tires and the rim, definitely will be doing that next time, thanks for the tip!
be sure and take valve stem core out before airing up tirre, that will give you much more flow into the tire and usually works for me, I've had the harbor freight tire changer for over 20 years and it's no telling howmutch money and time it has saved me good vid THANX!
i just bought one for trailer tires and struggled using the tool and was hoping for tips on how its supposed to be used (the instructions with it are worthless) but i see you struggled with it staying in as well, so I ended up using the old tire irons and that did fine. thanks for the video
I have the same setup and the same tire bead lubricant. You mentioned that water can cause rust on the wheel and when I got that lubricant I read the instructions on it and it's supposed to be diluted 4:1 with water. So much for preventing rust.
i sometimes clamp a pair of vise grips to the rim to prevent tire "walking around" while trying to mount them . sometimes just apply lube after i've gotten the tire half way on . don't use dawn , it makes it really hard to break the bead loose next time you change that tire .
I wish I'd seen this a week ago, I just ruined a tire, I damaged the bead using the old screwdriver and crowbar method.......Thanks for the video........
Just bought one myself. thank you, Sir, for posting.

Yeah I’ve been thinking about getting one, lol yeah tires always seem to go flat right when you need them
Good old starting fluid. Dose the trick for me
❤you sir are a boss! I'm gonna get a bead setter
I tell my kids to stop farting around on a daily basis. 😂

Thanks for the info I will take that into consideration on the next one
Good job! I do this daily for a living. If you have weights always mark where your valve is and bead seal is a must i say on old rims
Thanks for watching!

Try a tire paste.
Why not take the time to grind that pitting down and prime and paint it ? 😮 6:14

I may do that next time to help out, yeah I read that dawn was bad,
You can bump the wheel on the ground all the way round this will push the beads out makes it easer to inflate
will that tire changer change over a 16" tire that you know of. ???

lol yeah this definitely beats the old way
When installing, place a vise grip at the starting point and then pull/push on the pry bar to keep the tire from slipping and install the tire.
The new black tire stand is superior to the old red one. I am pleased with mine.
Yes, I seen where people had trouble with the red ones but so far mine has been trouble free
I got some black sealer that goes around it fills pitts and it seals it
Clamp on other side helps
Thanks, greatly appreciated...excellent info and how-to 🙂 Take care and enjoy life
Thanks, you too!
Mine is still in the box.
There are lots of videos on mods being done. To lessen the human force needed. Just saying. Thanks for sharing.
What is the cost.
I think I paid $45 on sale, reg price I think is $69
If that tire changer will change over a 16" tire then I will buy one if not it won't do me any good at all
I changed my F150 tires without any problem it had 18” wheels
Too much lubricant - the tire is spinning. Soapy water is better. Also, I am not a fan of tubeless tires: they're noting but problems.

IT CALLED A WHEEL NOT RIM. the rim is the outer part of a wheel. the outer bead seat is edge that the tire bead seats on the WHEEL
Thanks for enlightening me on your wealth of knowledge about wheels
Highseed A Rim Job is A Rim Job.. What’s it matter!!!
did you go to “discount tire university” too?
Yes I had to tell my wife to work my rim not my wheel
Rim is perfectly acceptable.
If you've never heard it - i. e. "Got a new set of rims." - then you've led a sheltered life.
