Singing is a very core part of Yoruba tradition. I'm a Ghanaian but a little reading has made me come to appreciate this musical tendency in Nigerians.
Its a tonal language. You could write one word in yoruba and it would have several meaning but different tonal pronunciation.
Nigeria has many musical genres from the different ethnic group eg Fuji, juju, apala from Yoruba tribe, ogene from South East, many from the North too.
If our artists explore even a tiny bit of these indigenous sounds, the world will go gaga more than they are doing over Naija music
