I have seen 'queen of drags', as a german, I have to admit that I was sceptical when it first got announced, and I was also sceptical about Heidi's role in it. I thought it might be just a quick cashgrab, and since drag is not really mainstream in germany yet, i thought it might actually upset the average german TV-viewer. Especially since 'Queen of Drags' was on one of germany's biggest networks. Watching 'queen of drags' after watching Drag Race since season 6, there are a lot of differences, but it still celebrates the art of drag and tries to show that artform to the german public that might not even know what drag is. Instead of a runway, or a "lipsync for your life", the queens had to perform a number every week to a certain theme, like horror, fairytails, divas & icons, and more. So every queen had the opportunity to present their talent in lipsyncing, while also having to do acting-, sewing- and dancing challenges. Of course there was drama, but not as much as expected, and the show was not centered about it, they really tried to show a wide variety of queens (artsy queens, fashionqueens, bearded queens, dancing queens and so on) and their journey through the competition. Too sad they didnt get enough ratings to do a second season.
I’m happy she’s taking her time tho! No question she’ll be back (spoiler: possibly in AS6 as a lip sync assassin) but I do think she’ll be a competitor soon

It has been years that I saw Laganja. Her close relationship to Heidi Klum is new to me. I remember the airing and the discussions about "Queen of Drag" which by the way was shown on a popular TV channel at primetime. The main reason the show was criticised is the way Klum is presenting and commenting. It's her TV personality that is unpopular in Germany. She is squeeky, shrill, over the top and not so funny. The concept of the show also stood in the focus for bringing a huge subculture to the mainstream while the candidates were judged by a supposedly incompetent jury. It was a panel of Klum (no drag artist), Bill Kaulitz (no drag artist, still rumoured to be in the closet) and Conchita Wurst who never did drag in the form the contestants did. Klum's critiques were often very different from the points Conchita and Bill were making. Sometimes, she backed off and just agreed with the others. When the contestants went campy, she did not seem to understand it because maybe she wasn't familiar enough. Then were other things during the season and the set itself was raising eyebrows.
