Dr. Hyman saved my life! I've been 2 years on his elimination diet from the pegan book - all inflammation is gone, all excess weight too (+100lbs) and my sleep and energy levels are crazy! I'm 48F and thought I was just going down and instead I feel better than ever - thank you Dr. Hyman!!!
I also was disabled from rheumatoid arthritis and by listening to him and doing the aip autoimmune protocol Paleo diet and doing time restricted eating of 16/8 I brought all my severe rheumatoid arthritis symptoms down to zero and I’m now I’m weight lifting four days a week and exercising. My grandmother had been an invalid from Rheumatoid arthritis since she had been 16 and my mom has Rheumatoid arthritis severely.
Chris, thank you sooo much for this episode. I have been following Dr. Hyman for about 2 years now after I had a big struggle with autoimmune disease myself. He is amazing and I am so glad that you are helping in getting the information out there. Change takes time and people need to hear things many times from different sources before they are starting to pay attention and listen. I have changed my diet and lifestyle and it has made such a big difference in my health. This really matters and works! I am a huge believer now. Thank you again!
This podcast answered many questions. All I needed was more information to take control of my health. I can take it from here. Keep us informed, Chris. We can gain better health with food. Loved the message today.
The low weight is not always the sign of health… my husband was slim….he was a sugar addict that the the food market initiated since he was a kid….which is the American problem…I blame the processed food…and the food Market….period…then after this regiment….you get sick…& then the system takes care of that part of your life too….Americans are the #1 product for all the biggest food & medical businesses & companies 🐯🇫🇷🇺🇸
Loved this. Been aware of food as medicine for many years. Still healthy and pushing 80. Now waiting for you to tackle a number of episodes on the poisoning of our foods. Start with glyphosate and move on from there. There's plenty of those deadly chemicals in use out there, Chris, and the side effects to our species and our planets are horrific.
Thank you Chris for having Doctor Hyman on he is the best. I listen to his podcast almost as much as Iisten to yours. Lol stay well and enjoy your Thanksgiving 😀
Well done, Chris.👏👏 Enjoyed this podcast immensely. I have listen to Dr. Hyman on and off over a few years on PBS station. Interesting conversations on health, nutrition and vaccinations. Hopefully, Dr. Hyman can make a difference in Washington relaying information about the importance of health and nutrition for all.
Thank you Chris. I’m already a believer but it was great to listen to Dr. Hyman and I’m glad is taking his message to Washington. “When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is right medicine is of no need.” Ayurvedic proverb.
Thanks for introducing me to Dr. Hyman. Between watching this podcast and Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy, I know I can do better with my diet. I got side tracked and stopped cooking after my husband passed but 2023 will be a better me. ❤
I really need to change my eating habits, before it completely kills me!!! I have a sugar and junk addiction. Not really smart for me, since I battled breast cancer 10 years ago, and luckily I beat it!!! But my cholesterol isn't great, I am on medication for high blood pressure, and I am having a daily struggle trying to manage my depression and anxiety. I'm constantly fatigued, and the doctor is running blood work on me tomorrow morning to rule out autoimmune disorder. I know I need to change what I put into myself, but it's so difficult because I am addicted to this stuff!!! I really need help, and may have to seek treatment from a nutritionist. I don't like how sick I feel all of the time, and realize the ball is in my court to make positive changes for myself. This podcast episode has given me food for thought, Chris (No pun intended, lol)!!!
I respect him and have watched him before but just an fyi, I am a very clean eater and exercise daily…. I’m 5ft 2 and 105 lbs. I took vitamin D 2 times a day as well as zinc among many other vitamins and I got Covid bad! 23 days… 10 days into in the ER for low oxygen levels. This was before the vaccines. I suffered long haulers with the shakes and fatigue for months after period tastes still are not the same. After being vaccinated and boosted I got it again. Not nearly as bad but I would be pretty hard-pressed to find someone that is more health-conscious than me that I know. I don’t do sugar or processed food
Leap of faith and trying this approach might be all the proof needed. No downside and the positive changes will be the motivation. Speaking from 11 years experience.
Just finished watching the entire interview and I’m so impressed. Keep it up! This was my first time watching your show. You have a new follower. Now to catch up on the rest!
Speaking of covid, I'd like Chris to do a segment on continous reinfection and the future health consequences of that. I can't imagine that the data will be favorable.
Fabulous interview! food IS medicine. Exercise more … eat less! These are the strategies that helped me evolve from feeding the child within … to instead feed my cells to thrive!!!! Hyman is spot on … and you did a service Chris, but putting this out there!!! Thank you!
Thank you SO much for this! I am 100% addicted to sugar. Thankfully I'm not over weight, but weigh more than a few years ago and my sugar use really picked up. The problem is getting off of it and staying off of it. The sugar industry is as bad as the tobacco industry...worse actually. Sugar is in EVERYTHING. Thank you for what you are doing. I'm so happy you are out there again. I appreciate you. Now to get rid of those M&Ms...I'll just have one. I can stop at any time 🤭 (No, I REALLY can't. It's bad!)
I've been saying this for years. Doctors need to learn about healthy food and tell their patients about it. I have horrible stomach issues and I think most of it's coming from food. No GI doctor has ever told me to eat differently or healthier. Just push more meds.
They don't make money if you are healthy. I have been to Dr after Dr and for me it's about not eating ALL of the foods that disagree w me. It sucks but you just have to figure out what doesn't work for your body.
Another great podcast as always with a excellent guest. I have heard his name before and glad to put the name to the face. He looks like he is in great shape for 63. He is a very intelligent man and he had a lot to say. I will watch again after Thanksgiving. Then we can talk turkey, until your next podcast Happy Thanksgiving Chris and to the entire Cuomo families.
Dr Hyman made great points. I would add, there is a large part of our population in the USA that does not know how to shop and cook. Also, many people are just so busy work, school, kids, housework that at the end of the day the last thing they want to do is spend two hours with prep, cooking and cleanup. I struggle with that now even though I don’t have kids at home. I was blessed to have a mother who taught me how to cook and shop on a budget. (One of the few positives of growing up a poor kid)!
I am so glad to hear that show Chris. Do not know Dr Hyman… but I finally feel I hear someone speaking the same language as me…when I arrived in the US …I (🇫🇷) thought I had intestinal cancer… anything I put in my mouth was killing me…had the worst unbearable pains…no Doc. was able to explain… I was my (🇺🇸) husband’s care giver for years…I am convinced that Alzheimer’s is due to the same bad food which blocks arteries & leads to heart fatal issues…the brain represents smaller vessels…though from the rest of the body it is blood circulation….3 decades later & after lots of studies on my part…before google…😂…. In 2 words…. Excessive consumption of Salt & sugar are the number one reason all the consequences in human’s bodies…🇫🇷🇺🇸
Ive been listening to Dr Hyman and I ask why most Drs don’t worry about what their patients are eating ? Diabetes ID an epidemic high blood pressure etc etc people are so heavy it’s insane thank you ! Chris for interviewing him !
doctors aren't allowed. they risk college complaints. even mentioning things like meditation for mental health or focusing on a healthy diet to deal with blood pressure is risky.
Happy Thanksgiving to Chris Cuomo and family!!! Although I am an American living abroad, I do celebrate Thanksgiving with my family every year. Your Spanish is excellent Chris. Pronunciation just like a native speaker. I am very impressed. You always impress me with your down to earth manner, empathy, compassion, and kindness. In particular, I was touched by how you tried to help me many years ago when I asked you to. I don't know if you remember but you gave my contact info. to Helen Akullian to try to help me kick start a career in corporate communications. So I know you are a really helpful person who cares about others. Although you are a famous and accomplished journalist who interviews presidents and statesmen, you don't forget the little people which makes you a special person. I feel sorry for you because your career was truncated and I know in my heart that you did nothing wrong. I think you are often very misunderstood. On a lighter note, I really like the Chris Cuomo Project. You are a terrific interviewer and you pick really interesting guests. Cuomo on the Couch is good too. You are so candid and honest. My favorite is the Walk and Talk because of the life coping tips which are very helpful. Your wit and sense of humor also shine through. It's amazing how you've matured and improved through the years. It must be your hundop philosophy. You are a nice person with a bigger than life personality and an incredible ability to transmit, articulate, and communicate. Don't ever give up on broadcast journalism.
Love Dr Hyman! A doctor that makes good common sense! Nutrition is so important. I was able to turn my health to the positive by eating real whole food from nature cutting out sugar, seed oils, gluten and processed foods.
This is another amazing episode Chris .. Dr Hyman made great points. I Love to Cook lots of food . But I do not like to eat and I always try to stay healthy !! Happy thanksgiving Chris ❤
So I’m halfway through this and I’m literally clapping to everything he’s saying especially about the sugar! I am a little disappointed that he backpedaled about the subsidies to the animal agriculture “industry“. It’s an absolute nightmare, for our bodies, the animals, and environment. No one seems to have the balls to really stand up to the animal agriculture thugs. Look at what they did to Oprah when she tried to push vegetarian or vegan. I have been vegetarian since 1998 and vegan since 2012 and I am the same weight as I was in high school, I’m 48 years old. Recently I went back to eating sugar in chocolate etc and now I’m having an inflammation event- I’m cutting all sugar (maple syrup etc) out and returning to stevia and monk fruit sweeteners by the end of year. All I can say is I’ve lived 25 years experimenting with the best possible diet and I’ve seen the results. I make vegan food for a family and the woman has already lost over 5 pounds in a month of simply eating steamed vegetables, tofu, delicious sauces, beans rice, some of the vegan meat, even things like vegan pad Thai. All vegan food is cholesterol free.
Oh also, eating vegetarian and vegan is absolutely cheaper by far! You don’t have to worry about things spoiling as quickly. You don’t have to buy so much prepackaged crap. It’s absolutely the cheapest lifestyle -- if you want to eat all of the fancy packaged vegan meat or pizzas etc. you will be paying the same as the animal versions but the reality is even the vegan versions of pizza etc are healthier than the packaged food that contains animal products. Cheese is made from grieving mothers who had all of their babies taken away from them at birth. People don’t know this. There’s a reason these industries don’t want you to know anything about what you’re putting into your body. Milk is made for a baby and cow and goat milk is not made for our species. Definitely not a human adult!
Love your podcast Chris You are the very best there is Keeps us smart and informed in a lot of subjects you’re such an asset to the society Keep up and stay healthy maybe less white On your hair and stay with blue looks stunning on you most of all your best news reporting keeps us all excited watching you
It's turkey time and i stopped eating processed food ten years ago and my health has improved dramatically. So now during the holidays I splurge and I love it. Hehe silly me.
To his point about grass fed fancy beef, this is absolutely a pipe dream, you get all of the nutrients you need and then some eating plants. There are no regular people who are going to be eating that kind of meat. Maybe less than 1% of the population. To raise an animal to take their babies away to murder them and then to ship their body parts all over the world and use more fossil fuels doing so is absolutely ludicrous. Only the top 1% of the population will be eating that type of meat regularly, and you don’t need that at all and it’s actually killing you!! Please go to physicians committee for responsible medicine and check out what they have to say, especially about cheese which is 70% fat and actually driving the diabetes issue.! Another point, where are we going to have all of this vast pasture land and where are the waste pools going to drain into? It’s absolutely ridiculous to think that every neighborhood is going to have a neighborhood pasture where we’re going to have vast acres of roaming happy grass fed animals until they are violently slaughtered and then shipped around town. Again, a lot of what this guy said was great but the idea that “plains Indians“ ate meat so therefore we should too is absolutely shockingly derelict. I could go into thousands of reasons why our bodies do not process dead animal parts the way an actual carnivore like a cat does. From the length of our intestines to the shape and size of our teeth etc. the list goes on. Again please check out physicians committee for responsible medicine they have a lot of facts there and they are actual doctors who are actually promoting veganism as the healthiest way to live.
This conversation is so important to me, as I am a type 2 diabetic who took my health into my own hands, after growing up on a terrible diet and @ 20, fainting alot. My boss sent me to a nutritionist + I found out I had advanced T2D. Since then I've studied diet + nutrition, became a gourmet, grow my own herbs, + have gotten this awful illness at bay.
I call Big Pharma the Death Cult Society, they don't want people off the grid, eating form our own organic gardens. They are in cahoots w the Pesticide Makers, now all of us have 3% plastic + " toxins in our bodies, water, + inc. new born babies
I nearly died from my very first vax, 4 Small Pox. My mom said I almost burned her hands w a 106 fever @ 6mos old, I'd just been given the vax (which was discont 2 yrs aft). She brought me back to the hosp where I was injected, they refuted that they caused it, so she ended up bringing me to my granddad Pop McCormick, who just gave me 2 aspirins. It ran my system, I still have nerve issues (rel. to diab. likely), but I survived it + ehre I am still. So grateful for this info
Great interview. I notice any time I eat processed food and especially fast food which is extremely rare for me I get a stomach ache (like the mistake I made eating a McDonalds Sausage McMuffin a few weeks ago out of convenience), I can only imagine how someone who eats that stuff regularly must feel like.
💥Such an interesting, insightful, and important conversation. I’m definitely interested in what the legislative response will be from his efforts. It would be a great idea to have him back 2 Illustrate his findings.🎉🎉
Eating clean is not easy..its alot of work and whole lifestyle change..its like quiting smoking..its not easy..we need help with this..hes just one man i agree with what he says but we basically all are alcoholics in a bar all the time surrounded by the drug we try to quit
Mediterranean diet is balanced and is nothing but using what nature gives us. Nature is perfect. We do not observe it in every aspect. First, thought not to leave trash as we do. Fruits and vegetables are presents Given by Nature. Also Christmas, Chris why people eat so much? Imagine in the south of the planet with hot days! Fish - rice- fruits- vegetables . They are soul days but turned to be forced festivities so they eat. I Thank for having 2 great daughters. Health and my father since this November 2th rests in peace after 3 years of pain without his mind since 2019. Only his heart which fought till he could. I love you Papa con toda mi ALMA. Always together🌺
Eh Felicitaciones ! Muy buen español☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☀️☀️☀️☀️👏🏻! Que sorpresa! What a surprise! Great pronunciation! You are good at whatever you focus on - Gracias🌺
Thank you for letting me kn9w about him. Life change started 03/217. L9st 44 lbs on my own hit a wall Dr wanted me to have barbaric surgery. Did it October 9 2019. Went down to 170. Since May I've been gain8ng now up to 185. Been beating myself up got to the point where I stopped eating. I need to be nicer to myself. Anyways subscribing to him hope it helps. Thank You
Very good conversation. I've spent my lifetime thus far reading, researching and following healthy eating. I do like chocolate though however discipline myself. There is also a distinct difference with chocolate from country to country. Did you ever see the series with Jamie Oliver who tried his best to change the diet of many Americans by going into schools throughout America. Dr. Paul Bragg a great American doctor also spent his life trying to reeducate people's diets. I know when I traveled in America the food was not appealing to me having lived a life of fresh produce. Great topic Chris. Better food, better thinking, better life and less expensive!
Dr. Hyman is the best! Just want to clarify he is saying vitamin D, ( not E ) in terms of the Israel study and Covid. Small detail but please Dr H if you read this, Pronounce D as in dog bc it is the most important vitamin there is!
Fascinating and very informative. I'll toss in another obstacle to eating healthy for some of us. Rare, but real. Actual cooking and meal prep. For me, at a chair mobile level, working at a stove is a burn hazard. I can't see inside a pan, carry/move boiling water, get something in/out of oven. Getting a safe, standing leverage position over food to cut it is out. I know I point out a rare situation. But is it? Think about our aging population. Older people who live alone. Dollars to donuts (had to be silly there) healthy meal prep and cooking is no easy feat. Guaranteed.
He needs to be careful with his wording. Not everyone who became sick/died was overweight or a processed food junkie. It also comes off as dismissive toward those who were born with certain illnesses/immunocompromised systems. I'm sure that is not what he intended, but just something to keep in mind. While good eating habits certainly help alleviate symptoms, it's not a cure.
He irresponsibly embellishes and overstates his case, repeatedly, and that makes him untrustworthy. With Covid, that puts people in danger. If they believe they're at low risk, they're more likely to behave in a risky manner.
Ahah EGGS… Americans got scared of eggs… it’s not eggs the problem…. The problem is all the stuffs that people eat besides eggs. Yes I eat healthy…not easy though when living here…. But it’s possible… I drive an hour to get my farm eggs… as well as Raw milk and I eat two eggs daily…and eggs combine all the best proteins a body needs… took a long time to figure out the « milk intolerance issue » …raw milk took care of that…. And I make the best yogurts that do not exist in any food store…we know the benefits of yogurts. My number one goal is to not see any Doctors to the end…I am pretty happy until now…😘🐯🇫🇷🇺🇸
Drink Water: mineral 💦-- if allowed get rid of sugar drinks. Bored? Once you get used to, a cáptese salat, a piece of grille’ salmon with veggies or mushpotatoes- A slice of bread -quantities and over Oliva oil with a slice of tomatoes between meals is delicious. I’m so bad at cooking. But good at knowing what my body needs. 4 o clock big salat (like Elaine’s / Seinfeld) but real - fresh like Kramer insisted on. In a way, he kept suggesting: go for fresh - the grocery - Season 🍎, remember ?
So much to say after listening to this podcast Chris, but let me just provide a list of eye opening documentaries I think you should watch to educate yourself further on the topic. Many are streaming or free to watch online. Not in any particular order & not a comprehensive list ( just ones I have personally seen). Topics range in from health, ethics & environmental impact. Get after it….. Earthlings The Game Changers Cowspiracy Seaspiracy What the Health Forks Over Knives Vegucated Dominion Peaceable Kingdom:The Journey Home Speciesism: The Movie Unity The Ghosts in our Machine The Milk System Food Choices
All of us who work, have our taxes going to support the medical industry The sicker people are, because of their poor life choices, are more financial burden the rest of us have to bear. We are all interdependent.
And everyone please: Watch Cowspiracy, watch Seaspiracy, watch What the Health, read the book Foodopoly by Winona Hauter. After two chapters your mind will be blown.
Did you know the word for turkey in Portuguese is "peru"?! What is that about - did Americans import turkey from Turkey? Anyway. Important interview. I
Constructive criticism: I understand that this is less an interview and more a dialog and that time is limited. However, some of the power of Hyman's message and his great delivery was lost in the frenetic interrupting. That rhythm works when the guest is a political figure, but for me in this case, it did not work.
We're all thankfull for you Chris.

Great Conversation, one that everyone needs to hear. Real Talk.
Dr. Hyman was a great interview . I really learned a lot from listening to him. I am going to get his books. Thanks.
You know this program you created is quite brilliant!
Thank you for bringing this issue up!!
Omg this is so informative Chris great interview with Hyman it really make sense

I am a patient at his office. It is one of the most professional practices in medicine. They are not messing around.
Good nutrition is so important! Very wise
counsel Chris.
Another great and informative interview. Appreciate you Chris and your truthfulness!
Just love Dr. Hyman! I’ve been following him for a long time. TY for having him on your show! I think he will start a food revolution! 👍
This is so informative. Thank you!
Everything you buy in a grocery store is processed. Unless you get fresh vegetables. Even those are sprayed with shit to make them grow faster.

Thank you. This is helpful and so great. I cut out so many bad things in the last few years, but I still have more to do.

Thank you Chris & Dr. Hyman! Happy Healthy-Thanksgiving! 🍁🍂🍁🦃
Dr. Mark Hyman’s a Living Legend! 🙌🏼♥️♥️
Thank you Chris for bringing up cholesterol
Love your podcast Chris
You are the very best there is
Keeps us smart and informed in a lot of subjects you’re such an asset to the society
Keep up and stay healthy maybe less white
On your hair and stay with blue looks stunning on you most of all your best news reporting keeps us all excited watching you
It's turkey time and i stopped eating processed food ten years ago and my health has improved dramatically.
I love him. He says food is medicine!
I WISH YOU A VERY FULFILLING THANKSGIVING
I'm wishing you will have a Walk & Talk on Thanksgiving morning 🤞 😊
I like ice cream and cheese cake. I know it's bad for me. I'm going to stop buying it.
More for me! 👍🏻but I make my own.
Mediterranean diet is balanced and is nothing but using what nature gives us. Nature is perfect. We do not observe it in every aspect. First, thought not to leave trash as we do. Fruits and vegetables are presents
Given by Nature.
Nice
Thank you for letting me kn9w about him. Life change started 03/217. L9st 44 lbs on my own hit a wall Dr wanted me to have barbaric surgery. Did it October 9 2019. Went down to 170. Since May I've been gain8ng now up to 185. Been beating myself up got to the point where I stopped eating. I need to be nicer to myself. Anyways subscribing to him hope it helps. Thank You
I don't eat fast food.
WOW
Dr. Hyman is the best! Just want to clarify he is saying vitamin D, ( not E ) in terms of the Israel study and Covid. Small detail but please Dr H if you read this, Pronounce D as in dog bc it is the most important vitamin there is!
Good 🌅
Yep. If they fix you. They can't make money off you anymore.
My number one goal is to not see any Doctors to the end…I am pretty happy until now…😘🐯🇫🇷🇺🇸
Good podcast, but why wouldn’t you listen to your wife when she was on your NewsNation show trying to make the same points?
What were the books that the doc recommended again?
the slow food movement is along these lines........look into it - everything fresh and seasonally made
Drink Water: mineral 💦-- if allowed get rid of sugar drinks.
I think all of us should grow edible gardens, even a kitchen garden in an apt. can provide fresh greens. We need to get back to basics
What exactly did Chris not agree with Dr. Hyman?
This interview made me curious about the moss? behind you. Is that to filter out pollutants?
So much to say after listening to this podcast Chris, but let me just provide a list of eye opening documentaries I think you should watch to educate yourself further on the topic.

just bought his 10 day detox book, I need to get health by eating better
Did you know the word for turkey in Portuguese is "peru"?! What is that about - did Americans import turkey from Turkey? Anyway. Important interview. I
Constructive criticism: I understand that this is less an interview and more a dialog and that time is limited. However, some of the power of Hyman's message and his great delivery was lost in the frenetic interrupting. That rhythm works when the guest is a political figure, but for me in this case, it did not work.
