And according to the news here in Finland, Sweden was SO pissed off about these commercials... I was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden - and I loved them! Offensive, my ass.
I just love these commercials, as I do your Royal Family also! 🤴🥰 I think that we Finns view your Royal Family quite down-to-earth and nice people and that's why we like them so much. And I'm sure that these Prisma-commercials are made with all the love and respect we Finns feel for them. 😁🥰😘

I really think this is an ingenious ad campaign. Some times ago, let's say 50 year ago, if someone high in Finnish society wanted to go shopping for specialized items they would go to Stockholm. In a similar way like in 2010s someone might go shopping in New York or London. Prisma is part of the only surviving Finnish co-operative, that is known to have competitive prices, but they also want to market themselves as having quality products. So the ad agency turns things around the makes a funny campaign with the top Sweden coming to shop in Finland. This is in no way trying to make fun of the Royal Family, but the commercial is multi-layered and has some laughs with these characters too.

All the actors are Swedish - so some Swedish company could adopt this concept. It would be even more tickling for a Swedish audience, like you just experienced personally. You guys catch nuances we Finns can't even thinl of... and which these actors know of. The queen actor could maybe study her accent a bit more.

The best finnish commercial would be the CEO of IKEA starring in Prisma commercial.
Prisma is like Coop Forum in Sweden. Bit The comercial aspect makes me think more of ICA, so then the store would be ICA MAXI

You mentioned Lidl and I think Prisma actually copied this similar style probably from Lidl's Finnish commercials that they started maybe decade ago as well. Lidl usually has some theme with maybe 4-6 commercials or mini movies that play for 6 month period.

Have you heard about “Kuha”- memes? They were everywhere two years ago. People used to bend the word ”kunhan” (när som/så länge som) as ”kuha” (gädda fisk). 😁 K-chain did these commercials at the same time. 😂
I also recommed to read Fingerpori. It’s a comic strip by Pentti Jarla. If you don’t get it - you can always ask Ylilauta (4Chain of Finland)
