As for Vitamin D, Yuri would have more difficulty because of the melanin because melanin blocks sun rays to protect her skin which also means blocking the key ingredient (sun rays) to help with process of vitamin D production. so she would need to be more in the sun or consume vitamin D through supplements or foods that may have it. Also it is good for your immune system too.

Melanin, or lack of melanin does Not "Block" vitamin D absorption, it has noting to do with it.
White skin did Not "evolve" to increase vitamin D absorption.

When you and your daughter talk about Mexican DNA, there's no such thing. Being Mexican is a citizenship, like being American. Mexico is part of the America's, where there were Native Americans historically, and then you have the arrival of the Europeans, primarily but not exclusively Spanish, Africans, etc. Mexicans can be 100% European, 100% Native American, 100% African, or any combination of the three. The famous Mexican actress, Salma Hayek, is of Lebanese descent. The former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, is of Irish descent.

@@tahliah6691 Yes, Mexican on her mother's side, but then again, there is no such thing as "Mexican DNA". It is likely a mix of European and Native American DNA. Mexicans who have tested are also getting a small amount of Middle Eastern DNA. I think the reason for this is many of the earliest immigrants from Spain to what is now Mexico were Sephardic Jews (Spaniards with Jewish ancestry). They were fleeing the inquisition.

I'm African American and extremely introverted and still, we share a common culture of beliefs, values, practices, and lifestyles... I used the term culture which is misleading to many because many associate cultures with food, music, customs, and courtesies... It has more meanings than that... You are open-minded, cosmopolitan, and you demonstrate a willingness to learn about the heritage of others with the same fervor you have for your own..., You are teaching girls to value their heritage both Asian, and in particular Korean, African, and in particular Kenyan, and American; and in particular Black American... You are open and honest... and you are easily frustrated by those who see the world in absolutes, black and white, and with an unwillingness to compromise... I watch your videos mostly for your enthusiastic parenting and problem-solving skills when it comes to marital challenges... I wish you were around when I was younger and married... because I might have varied my approach after watching your examples... I can tell you value honesty... and emotional support... and that you're prideful... and these attributes can make us want to give up on certain personalities despite how much we love and respect... YOU ARE MY HERO... for your willingness to look for win-wins everywhere you can...

Let me just say something about the thing that you said about vitamin d🤗, why your daughter can process vitamin D less than you it is because your daughter has more melanin and because of that it's harder to process it inside of her body because she have more protective layer for it, so the more melanin you have the more likely it will be harder for that person to absorb vitamin D because that person has a stronger stronger protection against it, if that makes sense🤔.
Melanin is the pigment that provides skin color, and individuals with darker skin have more of it than those with lighter skin. Having more melanin reduces your ability to synthesize vitamin D from the sun, resulting in lower 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels, according to the ODS. Further compounding that can be age, clothing that covers up your skin, sunscreen, and seasonal variations in sunlight exposure🤗.
I'm not really good at explanation 😞 sorry about that, but hope you can get what I'm saying 😁👌.

    • @beaujac311
      @beaujac311 2 года назад +1

@@hannahsamuel2618 Well the reason why people who originally came from places with a lot of sunlight have more melanin is to protect the skin from burning easily. And being that they were from a climate that received more direct sunlight getting vitamin D was no problem, because they were exposed to it more on a daily basis. People in climates with less direct sunlight had less melanin blocking the sunlight so they absorbed vitamin D faster with less direct sunlight.

The indigenous people of Madagascar, the large island off the coast of East Africa, known as the Malagasy people are a people of mixed Bantu (Sub-Saharan African) and Austronesian (Southeast Asian DNA) ancestry. Perhaps, since Kenya is an East African nation (also largely Bantu), James could have ancestors who were Malagasy migrating from the island to the continent.

But this DNA test only gives the general designation "African", rather even the also broad "East African", not to mention the various regional peoples. I really doubt that, if the Southeast Asian DNA is true, is came from ancient Arabs via Sudan, especially because it says "Southeast" not "South Asian" (I don't know if that was a typo on your end). There could be a Madagascar link given the proximity, as the DNA test did not give the specifics on the African DNA to suggest purely Nilotic or possible Bantu DNA.

The X chromosome carries a lot of genetic material. Other companies also count the X alongside the autosomal which is passed down 50/50 from each parent. Some Korean people with the surname Hwang, for example, can trace their ancestry back to a Chinese man from the Han dynasty with the surname Huang (the word for "yellow" in Chinese) who became lost during his journey from China to Vietnam and ended up instead in Korea during the Silla dynasty. He started a new life in Korea and had three sons who started three different lines of the Hwang family in Korea.

@While You Were Sleeping East Africa was a major trading route long before the Western European Triangle Slave trade.
People like to attribute Black People around the world to slavery, but seem to forget that Black Peoples are the Indigenous people of Asia, all of the islands around Asia, and the Pacific.
It was the Western European Germanic people that was late on the seen.
Ancient connections between Africa and Asia, including China, are exhibited in the numerous archaeological remains that have been recovered at many sites across the continent. Artifacts including Indo-Pacific beads, glass, Middle Eastern glazed pottery and jewelry, and Chinese stoneware and porcelain, among others, have been recovered at nearly all medium-to-large settlements along the Eastern and Southern African sub-continent from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) to the present. This non-African materiality bears witness to the global connections, contributions, and complexity of Africa’s past and systematically dismantles the long-held narrative that Africa was isolated from Eurasia and, with the exception of north Africa, contributed precious little to global civilization.

@While You Were Sleeping East Africa’s connections with Asia and the Middle East
Archaeologists and historians have documented evidence of biological, cultural, linguistic, commercial, and technical communication between East Africa and the Middle East beginning from the early first millennium CE. The Periplus of the Erythrean Sea, a third century mariner’s guide presumably written in Alexandria, mentions that iron lances, hatchets, daggers, and awls made at Muza, east of Aden constituted trade items destined for African markets.
Trade items from the East African coast made for foreign markets in India, the Middle East, and China included marine products- such as tortoise shells and ambergris; animal products- like ivory, rhinoceros horns and cat skins; and vegetable products- like mangrove poles, wood, and timber. Turtle shells and ambergris were in high demand in India and China. Ivory, rhinoceros horns, and leopard skins were exported to India, China, and the Persian Gulf. Timber for building and aromatic products were needed in the Persian Gulf until relatively recently. Demand for African timber in the Gulf was high enough to be reported by Ibn Hawqal c.960 CE who wrote that houses in Siraf were built of wood from the country of the Zinjs.
Textiles, including silk and cotton were spun in Mogadishu, Pate, Zanzibar, Kilwa, Mahilaka, and other major towns and their products widely traded in Eastern Africa reaching as far as Egypt. Upon their visit to Pate Island (Kenyan Coast), the Portuguese were impressed by the high quality silk manufactured there. Mining and the working of iron was an important industrial activity at Malindi and other Swahili towns.
The superior quality of iron products made in East Africa was impressive enough to be added to the list of African exports to India by Indian merchants who regularly visited the coast with the aid of annual monsoon winds. Al Masudi who visited East Africa in 912 CE left one of the most cogent descriptions of the iron industry on the coast in his The Meadows of Gold and the Mines of Gems.
All of the above findings contradict the long-held misconceptions about pre-industrial Africans and their connections with the rest of the world during the Middle Ages. During the Middle Ages, increasingly after the ninth century, East African towns were important centers of production and venues where trans-continental exchange of goods and natural resources took place.

Or your hypothesis about her results combined look similar to southeast Asian DNA could also be accurate as well since there are ppl with Melanesian in DNA in south east Asia.

Korean and Japanese genetics are so similar, its very hard for the companies to distinguish between the two. They are just getting better at picking up minuscule differences. Putting aside current silly politics and national origin myths BS, they are basically the same people who got separated relatively recently in terms of archeology, genetics, culture and language. That Southeast Asian gene probably comes from mother's side. Its could just be a recessive gene that skipped a generation and showed up in Yuri. Or it could mean that one of Jame's ancestors few generations ago were Southeast Asian, since Kenya is located in East Africa, where there were frequent contacts with the Asians to the east. But you have to remember that current consumer level gene tech is not that accurate, so take the result with the grain of salt. Also, genes are just tendencies, not determinate of anything. Our own actions and choices determine our destiny, not genes alone. 어디에 가시든지 건강하고 행복하세요.

When DNA gets recombined it can look like something different. I have Norway, but neither of my parents do. My mom has Sweden & Denmark. So it's likely that, but something in my father's genome mixed with hers made a portion of my DNA appear Norwegian. With her being 100% East Asian, Yuri should be 50% East Asian regardless of whether or not James has Asian ancestry. If that were the case she'd be over 50% Asian (50% from mom plus whatever Asian came from dad). This seems to be an issue of recombination giving false positives.

    • @kevinhuxley9252

@@darkseid1869 I am sorry. I don't think that is how gene test works.....Please take a time to look a bit deeper into how its done. I suggest GeneaVlogger's Channel.

@@kevinhuxley9252 Well, that is how they work as they aren't based on hard coded truths, but rather frequency and probability, according to their particular sample database. If they say you have East Asian DNA it doesn't mean it's not also found in SE Asian or even Western Asian. It means it's most prevalent in East Asia. And then they label it East Asian. This is why these companies update your results as they get more and more samples. How else do you explain her having a 100% East Asian mother and only being 48% East Asian? You get half your mother and half your father. So she cannot be under 50% E. Asian unless some of the DNA labeled "E. Asian" recombined in a way that it looks SE Asian... _according to the how DNA is labeled in their database._ This is why I have a percentage of "Norway" on my Ancestry test, but neither of my parents do. My mother's "Sweden & Denmark" and some of either her or my father's "England & NW Europe" got confused for Norway (a neighboring country).
These tests can be subjective. Their based on arbitrary labels determined by a 50% confidence level in most cases. How can you explain neither my mother or father having Norway, but I have it? These companies clearly do not have the capability to give 100% accurate results. The results are based on samples collected. That a sequence of alleles could, in the process of recombination, change so that they look like DNA found more commonly in SE Asians is not crazy.
