Jim is just salty because he cant make unregistered hypercam video, because he was stupid enough to buy something else/download it for free/or simply he registered his hypercam :D
instead of steam key you will get a Remote Desktop password so you can connect and play the game on developer's PC. PS And since maximum estimated number of buyers is below 3 there will be unlikely any conflicts with 2 people connecting at the same time.
I used this program in a interactive media class. It's designed to allow anyone to make video games and actually comes with a lesson plan and stuff. This was a year or two ago my senior year but it doesn't look much different, meaning it's probably an old free version as well. This means that there is a chance this dude is literally selling a high school or middle school project. Wow
To the developers credit, I suppose the quality of the trailer provides a fair representation of what to expect from the game. It's a kind of honestly the AAA game industry still needs to learn. Aliens: Colonial Marines, anyone?
How the hell doesn't this guy know about OBS or Shadowplay? There are SO many ways to record without a watermark yet they still use Hypercam? Brings back memories of old skool Retusupurae...
The "Clickteam Fusion" window before launching the game was a bit of a giveaway. And like most game makers, it's entirely possible to make great games in Fusion. The developer of the excellent Spelunky earned his stripes making freeware in Clickteam products back when the "Klik" community (people who made free games in Klik & Play, The Games Factory, Click & Create, and Multimedia Fusion) was more active. Much like Unity though, the low skill requirement for entry means that it's far easier to make tat. Hell, even Klik community members didn't have the sheer gall to actually try and charge money for their amateur creations, even when they were legitimately good.
I remember taking a game design class years ago using this exact program & interface to make a Mario ripoff, I wouldn't ever sell it. It was Multimedia Fusion 2 if I recall, seems really really similar.
You don't even have to pay the $100. Apparently, "greenlight access" is a tradeable item, like TF2 hats. I'm willing to bet that this kid traded some cards to an Asian goldfarmer for it on the marketplace.
Not that I had too much respect for the system of Greenlight before, but what the actual fuck? A tradeable item? Fuck, next thing that is going to happen is CS, Dota and TF starting giving Unity assets as random drops after each match.
it... its actually portuguese? i mean i don't want to offend or hate on you or anything. because it is just a mistake... but you HAVE to see the irony here...
That's pretty offensive to Newgrounds, newgrounds actually blammed and sent shit content to hell instead of letting it float on the surface like steam does.
Those construction vehicles look like they came from the Tonka Construction PC video game. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's where they were ripped from.
This is one if those situations where if people ask Jim if he could do better, he can immediately say yes and point to any jimpressions or squirty play as proof.
retsupurae would get a kick out of this. first people were just using that hypercam watermark and showing their desktops when recording their awkward, embarassing Lets plays, now these kinds of people are trying to sell stuff on steam? Some things never change no matter how many years go by. because if they can't make that youtube subscriber money, might as well try to sell something on steam.
iDubbbz mentioned that you can use that to edit videos. Can it do the job or will you really need to pay for something like Sony Vegas for stuff like effects? Kinda looking for a low-cost way to edit cause I'm planning to start uploading.
When your Licenced Game Experience gets released Jim, you have to make the launch trailer exactly like this. No music, no editing, unregistered hypercam4, no commentary, and not even full screen.
I actually found out Plays.TV is a thing and wow, I love it. Auto-records, little impact on performance and something I find is really weird is that it will comment on how well you play like "Wow, look at that triple kill that you got in a recent CS:GO match! Care to watch?" I'm not paid by them
I've seen it so much that sometimes I forget that the "Unregistered" part is not actually part of the software's name. Even when it's registered I keep calling it "Unregistered HyperCam (2, 4, whatever)".
you don't even need to register hypercam, you simply could record in a window larger than the game window and crop it later, your be able to crop out the watermark and taskbar in one pass, as if it wasn't already easy not to capture the taskbar when recording.
What I don't understand is... you can cut the part where the game is and stretch it to simulate a fullscreen with a video editor. Any video editor. Or maybe use one of the dozens of screen capturing software that are on the internet. Maybe an open source one, those usually don't have a watermark on the recording. WHY?!!
Even if they didn't want to register hypercam they could at least run the footage through movie maker and just crop out everything but the game footage in the center. Also I'm sure their is some sort of crack you can find to get rid of that watermark if you are inclined to do that sort of illegal stuff.
i just went to a steam Greenlight and saw 4 games next to eachother made by aouer friend Digital homicide Mike The Astronaut: ZENTARU ARMADA by Digital Homicide Mike The Astronaut: Assault on Thalasian 5 by Digital Homicide Petes Pumpkin Apocalypse by Digital Homicide Petes Pumpkin Apocalypse 2 by Digital Homicide cant wait to see this covered by Jim :D
And they had the balls to claim to work hard on their games yet upload stuff along with its sequel at the same fucking time. What a couple of utter hacks.
The worst part is, the dev doesn't even need to register HyperCam 4. The game itself is not obscured by anything around it... and there are plenty of free video editing programs with crop functions out there.
Why people use hyper/bandicam still? When we have things like ShadowPlay and if you have AMD gpu there's that plays.tv thing? No logo, performant and free.
That unregistered hypercam 4 makes Jim cry like an anime fan on prom night
Maybe he'll have his life git gud when he's getting a T.V. that's shaped like an apple.
I see that this has developed into a fully mature meme just like a Anime fan on prom night.
Jim is just salty because he cant make unregistered hypercam video, because he was stupid enough to buy something else/download it for free/or simply he registered his hypercam :D
Is this going to be a meme?
JUST REGISTER HYPERCAM 4!
Remember when people used to just post their zero-effort flash games on Newgrounds?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
i hate that in mobile you can't up comments
+Gabriel Silverio me too seriously I hate having to go in to shitty google plus just to updoot a comment I like
+Gabriel Silverio
Yes you can. On iPhone, at least.
+Gabriel Silverio I have been doing this since a year, what OS is your phone using?
Zatherz HA. IPHONE USERS ARE FINALLY BETTER.
I'm guessing the developer's taskbar will come with the game.
instead of steam key you will get a Remote Desktop password so you can connect and play the game on developer's PC.
PS And since maximum estimated number of buyers is below 3 there will be unlikely any conflicts with 2 people connecting at the same time.
true
I'd be disappointed if it _didn't._ :)
Why would you guess that? Do you not know how to computer?
That would be to good to be true , that will be DLC :)
I don't own Hypercam 4, but with that kind of intensity from Jim, I feel I must now go and register Hypercam 4!
i Thought Unrigistred Hypercam was extinct, how was i wrong
Aren't there just better ways to capture footage these days like shadow play and Franps?
+? the Platypus yep, but people are stupid
+? the Platypus Fraps has fallen out of favor. OBS and Shadowplay are popular, and more efficient.
The last time I see a video with Unregistered Hypercam on it, is when I was in 7th grade. But now I'm 18.
Jim is becoming Retsupurae
I used this program in a interactive media class. It's designed to allow anyone to make video games and actually comes with a lesson plan and stuff. This was a year or two ago my senior year but it doesn't look much different, meaning it's probably an old free version as well. This means that there is a chance this dude is literally selling a high school or middle school project. Wow
Love the shadows on the zombies in correlation with the sun position
That's two more HyperCams than back in my video stealing days.
For a couple of seconds I honestly expected to hear Slowbeef instead of Jim...
I want a Sterling/Slowbeef collab
+Keegan Bradberry I think Jim, Beef and TotalBiscuit made a podcast video a while back.
I mean like a guestuprae containing Jim
I'd be all for that.
That'd just end up with Rory Fingers and Ridley talking about videogames and Diabeetus is just stuck in the middle.
god damn this script editor screen at the beginning is so nostalgic to me, i spent hundreds of hours making games on the first TGF when i was a kid
Nitpick Theater :Unregistered HyperCam 4.
To the developers credit, I suppose the quality of the trailer provides a fair representation of what to expect from the game. It's a kind of honestly the AAA game industry still needs to learn. Aliens: Colonial Marines, anyone?
Please give me money for this compelling and exciting comment.
(UNREGISTERED HYPERCOMMENT 4)
A zombie game! This is truly a genre with potential which we will never get sick of.
How the hell doesn't this guy know about OBS or Shadowplay? There are SO many ways to record without a watermark yet they still use Hypercam?
Brings back memories of old skool Retusupurae...
Hypercam... 4? Damn I'm getting old.
guess I skipped 3
This is why Retsupurae is still relevant
I would love to see Jim guest star on a Retsupurae
That's what I was thinking as soon as I saw the words "Unregistered Hypercam"
I see the "A Challenging and Exciting Game" line and instantly think to Chef Excellence...
I'm sorry to correct you Jim but we don't need the middle bit either.
Yeah, those are stock Multimedia Fusion assets.
OBS is FREE and can RECORD
And compatible systems can use ShadowPlay for free from nvidia as well.
+Alex Rolli Or use gaming evolved in AMD. There are dozens and dozens of ways!
Do you expect them to do a little bit of research and find the best recording software, come on.
Ravenblood We can dream. Lol
But all the pros seem to be using HyperCam 4. If I want quality, I should learn from the best.
Looks like a free game that came pre-loaded on Windows 95, that I would uninstall.
That's insulting to free games that came pre-loaded on Windows 95. Hover was pretty fun.
Do they know that Windows 10 has a built in game recorder? Or a 30 sec limit on unregistered FRAPS? I can think of so many better alternatives.
this is win 7 tho
Vista actually. Disappointed there was no editing done, not even with Windows Movie Maker.
The OS in the 'trailer' is Windows 7 or is at least using the Windows 7 UI. Vista is notably different in appearance.
Jim should leave his task bar in his next video, preferably with an unregistered hypercam 4 in the corner.
I remember taking a game design class years ago using this exact program & interface to make a Mario ripoff, I wouldn't ever sell it. It was Multimedia Fusion 2 if I recall, seems really really similar.
Oh man, "people of Greenlight" is my new go-to.
> Spends $100 to get on Steam Greenlight
> Won't spend money on registering HyperCam
You don't even have to pay the $100. Apparently, "greenlight access" is a tradeable item, like TF2 hats. I'm willing to bet that this kid traded some cards to an Asian goldfarmer for it on the marketplace.
Not that I had too much respect for the system of Greenlight before, but what the actual fuck? A tradeable item? Fuck, next thing that is going to happen is CS, Dota and TF starting giving Unity assets as random drops after each match.
Michelle Lehto That explain a lot.
+Alex M It's not Spanish. I believe it's Portuguese. Apparently Portuguese looks like a mispelled Spanish, lol.
it... its actually portuguese? i mean i don't want to offend or hate on you or anything. because it is just a mistake... but you HAVE to see the irony here...
More like ZOMBIEDEF-initely not playing this.
ZING
What impresses me is that the house seems to be lit appropriately, according to where the sun is.
Hypercam developers are probably loving this. They got some massive free publicity from this.
Huh, Babadook picture on the menu. Well, there's a wonderful bit of copyright infringement.
**sobbing**
Hypercam 4! I'm sorry, man! I didn't realize!
*Hypercam 4:* Please register me.
I thought that your videos never had ads, but I just had to watch one for Molson Canadian.
they can just use OBS to record, no water mark
Whatever happened to the days of uploading these kind of games to Newgrounds and Addicting Games and the like?
Steam happened
That's pretty offensive to Newgrounds, newgrounds actually blammed and sent shit content to hell instead of letting it float on the surface like steam does.
HAHAHA that's funny as hell Newgrounds has some of the vilest content ever to this day
you remember the shithead that said itch.io looked too "unprofessional" to him? :)
Steam started offering a shot at people getting paid for it.
All that is missing was for them to have a porn tab open on their browser
The way Jim said "church" made me laugh out loud for some reason.
Those construction vehicles look like they came from the Tonka Construction PC video game. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's where they were ripped from.
Unregistered HyperCam 4? Call retsupurae, we have a new level of recording fail!...until 5 and 6 get their attention...
a zombie game huh? nice to see something fresh and interesting
I've used Multimedia Fusion before. I think .DEF is the file format for the audio files, or something..
This is great Sterling at his best
4 wow. We came a long way...
Nice Babadook picture in the background of the title screen. No copyright violations there. No siree.
Well at very least I'm happy it's a zombie game, it's not like Zombie games are overplayed
I'm just grateful it's not Unit Z
i don't overplay zombie games i overwatch them... brb looking at tracers butt
miniclip1162
- I prefer Widowmaker, myself.
This is one if those situations where if people ask Jim if he could do better, he can immediately say yes and point to any jimpressions or squirty play as proof.
I'll give it this; looking at the game itself, the dev knows more about Clickteam Fusion than I do XD
I am way f*cking earlier than usual.
Also, if you're going to pay the Greenlight fee, you can definitely afford $35 for Fraps or something.
FRAPS is literally free.
Heck, Nvidia's shadowplay is also free.
Gray Fox I thought it was handicapped in several ways in the free version.
+Leo Schue 30 second recordings which is all I know
OBS
The meltdown at the end sold the video.
I'm surprised nobody seems to have pointed out the Babadook face on the title screen... is Unregistered HyperCam 4 really that distracting?
Will we be seeing more of this game at E3?
Some of the construction vehicle assets look like they were ripped from the mid 90s klik and play app.
The picture on the title screen at 0:13 is from the movie "the Babadook".
retsupurae would get a kick out of this. first people were just using that hypercam watermark and showing their desktops when recording their awkward, embarassing Lets plays, now these kinds of people are trying to sell stuff on steam? Some things never change no matter how many years go by. because if they can't make that youtube subscriber money, might as well try to sell something on steam.
Interesting. That game looks both challenging, AND exciting.
OBS is free, and that doesn't have a logo.
This.
iDubbbz mentioned that you can use that to edit videos. Can it do the job or will you really need to pay for something like Sony Vegas for stuff like effects? Kinda looking for a low-cost way to edit cause I'm planning to start uploading.
+Crom Tuise Try Lightworks for editing, it's fairly decent and completely free to use.
Just wanted to say thanks for the Lightworks recommendation. Dunno how I've never heard of them before.
HeightofMediocrity It isn't a very well known software, I don't even know how I found it to be honest.
This is looking like the early days of RUclips tutorials all over again
Blizzard better step up its game because this level of detail and polish is unmatched
Step 1. Make some cuts.
Step 2. Crop it.
Step 3. Scrap the game and start again, this already exists in a billion flash games online.
Is that the villain's mech suit from the move "Food Fight?" 0:23
Wow, Klick & Play. Haven't seen that in a good 25 years.
Has any of these... "Dev"... ever heard of OBS?
But then how would they get on The Great Jim Sterling's Channel?
When your Licenced Game Experience gets released Jim, you have to make the launch trailer exactly like this. No music, no editing, unregistered hypercam4, no commentary, and not even full screen.
I also love how he can't enter his name for the high score board in-game, it has to open up a separate pop-up for that.
Dealing with a massive audience is NOT a problem likely to occur with this title.
That main title screen was a shot from the movie The Babadook...
Jim. I'm so sorry that you have to do this. To play these games. I couldn't do it.
You do it so we don't have to.
Thank. God. For you.
Something tells me that Jim is ever so slightly keen on having people register their hypercams. Call it a hunch...
This. This is a REALLY mysterious Jogo.
Open the Door.
Get on the Floor.
Unregistered Hypercam 4.
Truly a mysterious jogo.
Legitimately looks like something a 13 year old cobbled together and threw on Greenlight.
That church looks out of place to an extreme extent, I don't think that is his image.
that comment is not original to an extreme extent, I think it's not your idea
That reply is extremely, extreme. Really it sits on such an extreme, extremity. What I'm really trying to say is... Do you like clowns?
+Luciffrit only extreme ones... you know, Rodeo or Kanye Wests
fcukthiscarp eggs-in-a-stream!
Somehow, this sentence is an understatement.
I assume seeing the developer's taskbar will be part of later DLC opportunities.
By the great tentacled Lord Cthulhu! Has this Dev ever heard of rescaling! Just double click and expand until your damn taskbar is out of frame lol XD
I actually found out Plays.TV is a thing and wow, I love it. Auto-records, little impact on performance and something I find is really weird is that it will comment on how well you play like "Wow, look at that triple kill that you got in a recent CS:GO match! Care to watch?"
I'm not paid by them
Hypercam is still around? Also, how can they pay the Greenlight fee but not pay to register it?
Is this an ad for Hypercam?
I've seen it so much that sometimes I forget that the "Unregistered" part is not actually part of the software's name. Even when it's registered I keep calling it "Unregistered HyperCam (2, 4, whatever)".
you don't even need to register hypercam, you simply could record in a window larger than the game window and crop it later, your be able to crop out the watermark and taskbar in one pass, as if it wasn't already easy not to capture the taskbar when recording.
This looks like many flash games I have played. Except those flash games are more visually appealing and have more mechanics.
Jim, you should perform a public service message on registering HyperCam 4! Maybe a livestreamed pledge drive...
Screenshot at 0:12 is a still from the Babadook; wouldn't that count as copyright infringement?
Oh my, it's so weird seeing the 'Unregistered HyperCam 4' stamp at the top, especially when it's marked as the FOURTH ONE. >_>
Just registering it.... registering it.... registering it... registering it... registering it... registering it...
*slow zoom in on watermark*
What I don't understand is... you can cut the part where the game is and stretch it to simulate a fullscreen with a video editor. Any video editor. Or maybe use one of the dozens of screen capturing software that are on the internet. Maybe an open source one, those usually don't have a watermark on the recording. WHY?!!
You should do Nitpick Theater on developers who use such unregistered recording products. Like this one in example.
Looks like something we make in the kindergarden here in my country
Was that the Babadook image for the title screen?
Even if they didn't want to register hypercam they could at least run the footage through movie maker and just crop out everything but the game footage in the center.
Also I'm sure their is some sort of crack you can find to get rid of that watermark if you are inclined to do that sort of illegal stuff.
It's that old Mac game Banzai but with Zombies.
i just went to a steam Greenlight and saw 4 games next to eachother made by aouer friend Digital homicide
Mike The Astronaut: ZENTARU ARMADA
by Digital Homicide
Mike The Astronaut: Assault on Thalasian 5
by Digital Homicide
Petes Pumpkin Apocalypse
by Digital Homicide
Petes Pumpkin Apocalypse 2
by Digital Homicide
cant wait to see this covered by Jim :D
ow i just realize digital homicide spaming steam greenlight like crazy this is pretty funny :D
And they had the balls to claim to work hard on their games yet upload stuff along with its sequel at the same fucking time. What a couple of utter hacks.
This trailer was recorded on the 24th of April, 2016.
Why did this person upload this at all, if it took em this long?
I just don't get it, why do you even bother with hypercam when OBS studio is free?
The worst part is, the dev doesn't even need to register HyperCam 4. The game itself is not obscured by anything around it... and there are plenty of free video editing programs with crop functions out there.
I want this to get on steam so my game has a chance.
Why people use hyper/bandicam still? When we have things like ShadowPlay and if you have AMD gpu there's that plays.tv thing? No logo, performant and free.
The green zombies look a little 8-bit compared to the brown zombies.
