Hi LE, I’m so glad Phoebe did so well on her first night outside. I would also recommend washing her in dawn dish soap to get rid of the fleas. She will be so much more comfortable, and it will stop the spread. You may have to wash Rooster the same way if he gets them. God bless you! Love from Canadice NY ❤
Training a dog is overwhelming at first. I found pee pads teach a dog to pee and poo in the house, which you don’t want. Think feeding a new born baby is about every 3 to 4 hours is when you have to take the puppy out to pee. Getting up all hours of the night and day. Their little tummy’s can’t hold it any more. What does work and it is keeping your dog in a confined space (dogs do not like to go potty where they sleep) when not supervised, going out to the same spot every 3 to 4 hours, command “go potty” and reward a treat. There are thousands of videos on it. It takes time but it does work. I’m sure I’m not the first to tell you this. It is difficult to train a dog, but in the long run they will be for best friend for life. LE, love your videos, Megan and you work so hard. You are such a good son and fiance. ❤️
I potty trained both of my Jack Russell‘s with pee pads, started out with a bunch of them all over the place and then ended up with one at the back door, and he quickly learned to hold it until going outside, very few accidents at the beginning, and if he did have to go before getting outside, he would go on that pee pad at the back door!
I would be nervous too LE. Scared of predators. We had a beagle like that and no matter how many times we took this dog out, when he’d come in, and went in the house too. Sooo frustration . Good luck to you.
LE she will do fine. Just a bit of advice. Larger dogs take a bit to potty train. Shes so very young. For Phoebe's safety i would remove Rooster's food bowls after dinner. Dont leave bowls down. Have set feeding times. That way you wont need to worry about Rooster being food aggressive. Make sure phoebe has chew toys outside. She will be teething for several months. Phoebe loves too too!❤❤
I love an afternoon shower of rain. Makes the air smell so good. Phoebe will do good outdoors. She’s bred to be a livestock guardian and adapts to the outdoors.
I adopted a pup a long time ago had to set my alarm every two hours because her muscles weren’t developed to hold her urine. Never again I only adopt 4 to 6 year old rescue dogs. Big ❤🐾
LE, your kindness and love for the animals shows. Keep being you buddy. Let the Ken’s, Karens, and P-Pats do what they do. Sadly, There will always be division in the world. People are crazy. LOL
LE there is a new shot the Vet can give for Fleas and it last for 3 month. You don't have to worry about a flea collar or getting anything on your hands.
Fleas are tough. You have to be regular with medication and flea baths. But we would teach our dogs to ring sleigh bells when they need to go out.. but she's a puppy and it takes time to learn to go on schedule.
It will take a little time for Rooster to get use to Pheobe. My lab plays exactly like this with my newest pup. It took a year for them to truly become besties.
I totally understand but you are doing the right thing. Rooster will watch over her. Her LGD training will start by staying overnight with Rooster. Them coming to meet you in the morning was so sweet and then when Phoebe (and later Rooster) was covered in mud … oh my heart. ❤️
LE I just love your caring heart for all of your animals. Phoebe is so cute Rooster will protect her. Love y'all and God bless you and your family and all the animals and feather's 💕💕💕💕💕 you and Megan are doing a great job.❤❤❤❤❤
Crate training works. Dogs even like being in their crate. Getting a puppy is like having a baby. You have to research how to take care of them and they take tons of time.
I'm glad little Phoebe made it through the night good. I hope you were able to help your dad with hay today. He has been getting too hot and making me worry about him. ❤
Some dogs are easier to train than others. I had a border collie. Every time I took him outside, I would ring some bells I had hung around the door knob. Within a week he (the Border Collie) would ring the bells with his nose. Puppies will have to go outside after everything they do. When they wake up. When the finish eating, when they finish running around and playing. Make sure you use vinegar over the places he pooped and peed Their noses are so good they can still smell it even after the best cleaning solutions. Vinegar is apparently the best to use. It’s the smell of their own excrement and that will bring on the urge to go again. That’s why they say to put a pee pad down and slowly move it loser to the doo until it’s outside. When picking up her poop outside place it where you would like her to continue to go poop. We chose a row of lilac bushes. Now our dog goes outside to the trees and poops there instead of all over the yard. Just a tip fo you.
I forgot to tell you. Flee medicine for puppies usually don’t work that well because it has to do with weight and because your dog is growing her weight will continue to increase and you have to match the medication to the weight increase. You patience is amazing LE. I know you’ll get it right.
I am not sure what flea medication you are giving her it usually once a month. Putting her outside she will just get more fleas. Don't you have any flea shampoo, that would help until you get more medication. Worrying about you cats is not going to help Phobe.
Pups should be crated every moment you are not fully paying attention to them until they are trained. Bravecto for the win!! It’s a little more expensive but it’s the only thing that works 100% on fleas (and heart worms). Topicals just aren’t 100% effective.
Crate training work really well. You put her in the crate at night and when you can’t watch her. You have to take her out to potty like every two hours when they are very little. Especially after they eat. I hope it work out for the 2 dogs outside.
I think youre use to having cats. Theyre kind of teach themselves how to use the litter box. So like you said, its all new to you just like it is to her. Give yourselves grace. You'll both get there💜
LE please give Phoebe a bath with either flea shampoo or Dawn dish soap (the original one). Or you can go to the pet store and buy her the flea treatment. She is going to be so uncomfortable from the fleas until you can get her to the vet. I feel so bad for her. Fleas are no joke.
Should have crate trained her. Not to late. You have to give those flea meds religiously every 30 days. if you’re going to make her an outside dog you need to keep her safe while doing so she’s just a little one yet keep her in the yard that has the fence. Keep training her on being an inside dog as well. If she ever gets sick and needs to come in the house, she needs to be potty trained before hand. get a hold of a dog trainer that will help you not to be nervous. U got this! Do not leave food out for rooster if he is food aggressive, which it sounds like he is that puppy does not need to be around him with food left over. Feed him by himself and when he’s done, take the food away ❤
if you see fleas you need to do a treatment for three months in a row to make sure you get all stages of a fleas life. Not sure if you knew this or not, I didn't until i started working at a vet clinic here! Good luck!!!
Oh my goodness, she had so many pets in there with her. My only concern is the tomato plants. Hopefully one day soon they’ll be cleaned out of there. She needed to start training. I’m so glad that roosters with her.
Might be a good idea to read up on training Pyrenees. They are very smart, and once you start training her you will be amazed at what she can learn. I was delighted to see that Phoebe already sits down for you to pet her!
Get a crate for easier cleanup. My dogs loved their crates and they couldn’t get into things they shouldn’t be into. During the day when you’re up and about, take her out every hour. When she eats, take her out immediately. Puppies will take a while to train, and even when they get the concept, it takes a while to be able to hold it long. My chihuahua was close to a year old before she could go longer than a couple of hours. She’s 10 now and will hold it for 5-6 hours during the day, and all night with very few accidents. The accidents overnight are usually because when it’s cold or raining she wants to come back in as soon as she can and won’t stay out and go potty. I leave her in a pen with puppy pads so she can go if she needs to if we are going to be gone for long periods of time during the day, but otherwise she has free run of the house.
It's hard to train. If you kept her in a kennel while you sleep, then let her out first thing. Also after she drinks or eats. Puppy's have to go alot. I have trained all my dogs and never had one that potted in their kennel. But, she was made to be an outside dog. Her breed is protector...so she needs to get used to the outside. I know how bad you feel.....❤😊
I'm glad you did a Sunday morning update so we all got to see how she did ❤ Puppy training is hard. Especially because everyone will tell you their preferred method for doing so lol and when it's your first puppy. Fleas are hard too. I know she's young and with the cats if I'm not mistaken, I think that limits the type of medication you can use as well. Hopefully as time passes things will improve. Her and Rooster make quite the pair. The goats were so cute all cuddled up on that chair! It looks like that rain shower caught a lot of people off guard. I saw a bunch of the video creators on the hill who got stuck in it!
You know L E, Animals have to grow up it's the same as you kids you can't stop it you can make it better with control and hard work she will be fine it's basically with the bigger dog around this will be good for her to teach her what she's supposed to be doing. Make sure you keep pops garden area clean from the dogs and goats so he's not walking and poop and pee areas. In rooster can't go out and do his job at night to keep predators away if he's locked in that area.
Don't leave food out...Always feed the dogs separately at scheduled times during the day...the fan cords can be attractive to pups you need to think about that ❤❤
Le... You did good putting Fefe in that space at night. I wouldn't leave Roost. In that closed in space (garden). You want him to be able to walk the fence line at night. That's why you got him. I would ask, Fefe breeder what kind of flea stuff they use on the mom. Some stuff works better on some dogs. Just a idea.
Never leave food and water out for puppies, and once you do feed them or give them water, put them outside. I wish you wouldn't give up on her she should be house trained whether she becomes an outdoor dog or not. If she ever has to be removed no one will ever want her. Training is so important because she needs this... even be trained to be home alone and boundaries, etc.
That’s right, the Dawn dish soap is great for fleas, the blue kind, I raised and showed Collies for 30 years, had a few outbreaks of fleas easy to pick them up at the shows, but a couple of baths will do it.lather up good and leave on a few minutes, rinse and a few days later rebate.
LE back when I had about 7-8 puppies, but their is away you can train her! Is go buy puppie training pads when you see her going. Pick her up pat her on the butt! Then Immediately put her on the pads, then afterwards work the pads toward the front door, and before you know it she will be heading toward the door telling you guy's she needs to go outside! It will take alittle while. Just be patient w/ her she will get the hang of it for you!😊😊😊
You're doing great LE! Really enjoyed the video. So sweet when they came to meet you this morning. 🥰 Please don't think I'm being rude or aiming this towards you. I just wish someone would clean up the weeds and garden in that area. It's a great place for the baby goats and dogs at night!
She’s a puppy she’s going to do all those things. Y’all will half to teach him or her what are the don’t and dos, I don’t understand why she has to go outside right now, she is young just because y’all don’t want to deal with the mess you throw her out, that is the responsibility of the adult to guide her and teach her. I am not hating just pointing out the facts.
The only reason I train my outside dogs is because one of my dogs went blind and wasn't going to have a blind dog outside it takes forever to train them as you said when you are older
Phoebe sounds like a handful. That’s to bad that she has fleas. You don’t want the eggs in the house. I a sure she will do fine outside. She is a beautiful girl. That’s a hard decision
Phoebe will do fine. She has Rooster is with her.❤❤❤ LE potty train will take time routine and patience. And you and Megan have to do the same routine.
LE you just have to step up to potty training Phoebe as well treat her for fleas. Just putting her outside by herself simply because you're having problems with will only make matters worse. Animals are sensitive and can sense when they human parents don't want them anywhere nearby. Just take it one step and day at a time. She also needs to be spayed. To stop the chewing? She's still teething. Get her some chew toys to strengthen her teeth. All the best, good luck and God bless!
Give her a bath with dawn dish soap.. I think the trick is to potty training is taking our about 20 min after she eats, then every couple of hours during the day, she will naturally adapt to the routine, also ask the vet about a shot that is good for 6 months for the fleas.. We did that with our dogs.. You can also purchase a felt chewable at walmart.. Regardless of whether she is in or an outside dog.. Maybe she would be better with sadi at the J & L RANCH
yes that was new to me but i saw that young guy with the urban animal rescue use it on raccoons never knew that also if they get sprayed by a skunk its like a degreaser gets all that oil stink off
Don't leave food down and have a feeding schedule that way you can watch them and pick the food up when they are done eating.. We feed our dogs 2 times a day which is in the morning and in the evening and they also get treats threw out the day...your dad said he took Sadie to JL 1 because she was having such a hard time at LHL and 2 she was having food aggression as well so must be a thing with that breed maybe
Anytime the puppy eats or drinks, automatically take them outside. Dawn dish soap the blue kind kills fleas. Give her a bath.
LE, please give her a bath with blue Dawn Dish Soap.
LE give her a bath in blue Dawn Dish Soap.

Love you guys. Big hearts for fur babies!
My tip? Feed on a schedule, don’t leave food around to be defended. Dogs love reliable routine.
LE Phoebe will be just fine. You are such a compassionate and loving young man. I love your videos.
I would be nervous too LE. Scared of predators. We had a beagle like that and no matter how many times we took this dog out, when he’d come in, and went in the house too. Sooo frustration . Good luck to you.
Great job LE. So glad that Phoebe has Rooster to be her companion as well as her mentor. She has lots of babies to keep her company outside at night.

I love Jack! I also love the sound that peacocks make.
I guess the cat litter boxes smell great ? If phobie has fleas the cats probably do too!

Potty training a pup is easy it just takes consistency ! Inside or out she shouldn't have fleas !
I was saying the word in my head "malleable" and you said it. What a great vocabulary and heart you have. Boomer here. LOL
She is a beautiful puppy 🐶 💕💕💕💕🐶
I am not sure what flea medication you are giving her it usually once a month. Putting her outside she will just get more fleas. Don't you have any flea shampoo, that would help until you get more medication. Worrying about you cats is not going to help Phobe.
I've got a ginger cat that's missing some toes on a front paw but that makes her that much more special ❤!!!
I have Apollo on Simparco trio. Just know if she is not on heart worm prevention she may get heartworms from the mosquitos.
She WILL get heartworms. All the dogs should be getting prevention meds.
Pups should be crated every moment you are not fully paying attention to them until they are trained.
Bravecto for the win!! It’s a little more expensive but it’s the only thing that works 100% on fleas (and heart worms). Topicals just aren’t 100% effective.
Don’t be nervous LE. Rooster will take good care of her. Just know that she will be shifting puppy behavior outside. Chewing on stuff will be primary.

Hi LE & Megan all fur babies ,I enjoy your videos Phoebe is adorable. Roosters so beautiful.😊 Phoebe just wants to play she’s a baby.
LE I think she’s ok to be outside dog just remember to interact with her as you move around the farm so she’s aware what to do & not do. 😊
Flea meds only last 30 days LE! Does Rooster have fleas too I check he may have them too I check first before getting more meds.

LE never stop being who you are, your love for God and all his little ones is unlike most in this world. Stay with God and be the man he has made you
Oh my goodness, she had so many pets in there with her. My only concern is the tomato plants. Hopefully one day soon they’ll be cleaned out of there.
She needed to start training. I’m so glad that roosters with her.
LE she will be ok outside especially with Rooster out with her
Might be a good idea to read up on training Pyrenees. They are very smart, and once you start training her you will be amazed at what she can learn. I was delighted to see that Phoebe already sits down for you to pet her!
LGD's live and bond with the animals they protect and should be raised with them they don't go in and out of the house.
That is So Sweet ,Them Sleeping Together..❤❤❤
I can’t believe you got another Great Pyrenees after you couldn’t/wouldn’t take care of Sadie!
It's not a small thing to love your babies. ❤❤❤❤

Animals may act one way with their owner near but they really sense who needs their help.
Love is nice but sometimes practicality is better.
They both are so cute.
Phoebe reminds me of Millie at LL
Yes, she does!
Great video LE ❤❤
I enjoyed it! ☺️
Oh LE it was time for Rooster to take over her training. Phoebe needs to be outside. It is the best thing for her. And y'all. Hugs from Indiana, Rossi
Aww. They are so sweet
She really loves Rooster

Enjoy that puppy I love my Kodiak he is my guardian and he looks just like rooster
You're doing great LE! Really enjoyed the video. So sweet when they came to meet you this morning. 🥰

Dawn blue dish soap will help with fleas till you get to the doc.
Dawn blue dish soap will take care of fleas on a dog.
yes that was new to me but i saw that young guy with the urban animal rescue use it on raccoons never knew that also if they get sprayed by a skunk its like a degreaser gets all that oil stink off
It did not rain in nome, Tx. On Sunday.
With her back feet like that you really have to keep an eye on that dew claw so the toe nail don't grow into her foot.
You are a good daddy L E. Don't worry too much. You are doing good.
Unfortunately if she has fleas, all your inside and outside animals will probably have them and need to be treated
That’s cute kittie
Was eondering what you were busy doing while the rest of the hill was busy helping Lester eith the hay hauling over the weekend.
Hope you treat them for ticks and heart worm... both Rooster and Pheobe need their shots etc
Is Hope okay?
