Not just "meetind and befriending". Mitty was Nanachi's best and only friend, they always supported each other, imagine seing person who made your whole life better being tortured like that, and then seeing a dude who did it, but you're too weak to do anything. Sounds not funny.

The wondrous transformation of Nanachi vs the terrifying and heart wrenching transformation of Mitty is something the Abyss provided. Its the perfect example of its mystery and sadness. Its terror and its beauty. This scene captivates everything the Abyss is.

it's was a sad death but in a good way, What Bondrewd did to those children by tricking them with his white whistle status and lies was just sick, I really hope he gets what he deserves in the next season.
I interpreted Mitty's last moments differently than most I guess. I don't take her saying "kill me" as her own despair and fear of her situation; I think she understood Nanachi enough in that moment to give her closest friend one final hope. "You have permission to kill me. Don't feel obligated to keep me alive in this state forever. When you need to give up, make sure our souls can return to the Abyss together."
I wish it was like that, but it's more likely a desperate cry to end the suffering of the anguish she goes through as her body melts and shifts into something else.
"God... please save us. I.. finally found it. I found a treasure I hold dear... Please... Please don't take her away from me." God/Abyss: "Aight man, I'll turn her into an immortal blob. Take it or Reg it."
What makes me most sad is when I think about it, since Mitty was immortal, after Reg, Nanachi and friends die, she’ll be all alone just wondering earth

The fact this kind of transformation actually happens with the animals that live in the deepest pits of the sea makes it even more horrorfying. The Blob fish must have been the biggest inspiration for Mytty's transformation

Yeah that’s exactly what happens, it’s a normal looking fish deep in the sea, but when they get caught they’re forced up to the surface and go through this, turning into what you recognize them as, a fat blob with a weird big nose.
I thought since Tucker combining his daughter and a dog, the death of Conny in The Promised Neverland and Oden from One Piece, nothing could make me feel sad for a character... And here I'm. :(

Probably, but Reg can't use his powers all the time. It was pointed out in the manga that he has limited time to use his weapon and the more he uses the sooner he will die. Also they wasn't even able to kill Bondrew so he can just torture more kids even if reg kill them.

This scene is so fucking...i don’t think there’s a word to describe this because “horrifying” isnt enough You see this scared child who went from “it’ll be ok” to “kill me, please” We see her lost her humanity, go through pain as her own body mutilates itself, lose any semblance of thought, while crying and begging for death because of the excruciating pain
And on top of it all, you not only watch the other kid fecking terrified because his only and dearest treasure is about to be taken away from him, not only you watch the other kid beg for his friend to not die, you watch how his wish is fulfilled in the most fecked up way possible. Honestly, I did not think it could escalate more just 10 seconds before that.
I remember watching this and telling myself that I was never ever going to watch it, but unfortunately, I forgot all about it and ended up watching all 3 movies with my brother. I don't regret it though. The movies were good, but still traumatizing.... So many mixed emotions.

Yeah that’s exactly what happens, it’s a normal looking fish deep in the sea, but when they get caught they’re forced up to the surface and go through this, turning into what you recognize them as, a fat blob with a weird big nose.

makes what Reg said so much more powerful
In that moment only friend Nanachi ever had and person who she loved and who loved her the most was put into their own never ending hell
in that single moment her greatest joy of life was gone along with any reason for living she could hope to have, if it wasn't for Reg and Riko, Nanachi would fullfil last request Mitty ever had and probably kill herself along with Mitty once she found way to do it

Probably, but Reg can't use his powers all the time. It was pointed out in the manga that he has limited time to use his weapon and the more he uses the sooner he will die.
Also they wasn't even able to kill Bondrew so he can just torture more kids even if reg kill them.

You see this scared child who went from “it’ll be ok” to “kill me, please”
We see her lost her humanity, go through pain as her own body mutilates itself, lose any semblance of thought, while crying and begging for death because of the excruciating pain
And on top of it all, you not only watch the other kid fecking terrified because his only and dearest treasure is about to be taken away from him, not only you watch the other kid beg for his friend to not die, you watch how his wish is fulfilled in the most fecked up way possible.
Honestly, I did not think it could escalate more just 10 seconds before that.
