Excellent video Barrett! Awesome choice of speakers. I LOVE that center channel. Those towers are gorgeous. Looking forward to hearing much more about those speakers!😎
I’m very excited that you chose the Aeris. I have looked at these for years and it’s great to see a serious review. Ultimately I’ve gone with a Buchardt A500SE system in the main room but these are still in my love tier 🥰 Legacy is old school cool with gorgeous cabinets!
Awesome choice! I have a pair of Legacy Aeris with the WaveLet Processor on the way! I auditioned some big brand speakers in the same price range as the Aeris over the past year or so. But in the end it was clear that the Aeris checked off all the boxes that I was searching for. Phenominal speakers!
Nice choice going with the Wavelet processor. From my understanding it is more user friendly, and does a lot more automatically for you. Let me know your thoughts after you get it all set up.
So glad you went with this setup!! Such a good call and thanks for addressing all the reasons why!! Don’t forget your heights ;) I can NOT WAIT for your thorough run down and testing of all the features these can do!! So cool they come with the processor and wires!! I had no clue they do that! I think it would be cool if you did a HT review and a separate 2 channel with and without extra subs review! Haha man these things are legit their own series of videos! Haha 🎉
Thanks brother! I am considering doing my heights in the future, but I need to lay low for a bit when it comes to buying speakers haha. I keep those suggestions in mind. It may be a good idea to separate the reviews based on use case.
Congratulations Barrett. I have looked at those speakers myself and thought they looked amazing. Great video and I'm sure you will enjoy those for many years.
Wow man, I am blown away. These are the only other speakers I really wanted to look at during my journey but these cost way more than my 9H's. Just amazing and happy for you! I forget, what subs are you running right now? I can't wait to see more content with these. Big boy speakers are so rad :)
Thanks brother, I have to admit, those 9H's were awfully tempting too. The pics that you have been putting out there of your system were almost enough to sway me to Paradigm lol. You take some incredible pics! Right now I don't have any subs of my own. I was running 3 CAP2400's, then dual CP2400's, but I recently sold them. I only have review subwoofers in my room right now. I have some Tonewinner subs and some Arendal subs, but eventually they all need to be sent back. I'm in the market for subwoofers, but lately I have really been curious about dual 15" sealed subwoofers. I currently have a prototype dual 15" sealed unit in gloss black, that has really impressed me. It doesn't have the earth shattering low end like some of the big boys, but it does have decent performance from 15-20hz. Above those ferequencies it just kicks you in the face in a good way. I am thinking 6 of those would do the trick. I'd stack them in 2's, so 2 stacked on the left side, 2 stacked on the right side and 2 stacked behind my seating.
Super excited for you! I never thought I'd live to hear you say you've settled on a reference speaker system but you have definitely chosen well. I'm also glad you survived the unboxing. I've been there with wanting to get something completed and fighting my physical limits to do so. My Focus SE's were a backbreaking task so I can only imagine what you went through. Interesting note on the Marquis XD grill. I've had mine for about a year and never noticed as, like you, I never use grills.
Capt Sparrow also declared his undying love to the Black Pearl. 😀 Amazing choices brother. I think you nailed it. Was honestly blown away by the 8in driver on the surrounds…then you pulled out that mammoth of a centre. On behalf of all of us, put on some gloves and hug those speakers on a daily basis 😀
Love it. They are hands down one of the nicest speakers I've seen. I bet they sound amazing. And ya way better looking than the 9H and jtr forsure. Congrats my friend
Thanks brother. I just wish they came in a midnight cherry like the Founders. The only thing that would make these nicer is a Black Pearl baffle with a Midnight Cherry veneer haha. But I still love the Rosewood!
@@jamiesmith8307 I had to decide if I wanted the center to match the Rosewood veneer, or the Black Pearl front baffle. I decided it would be best if it matched the Black Pearl front baffle, since that is what is facing the listener.
Frickin awesome Barrett! The Aeris ..... drool worthy! You couldn't have made a better choice in my opinion. Stunning. I looked south, your 20 mins away and there was a glow on the horizon! I don't think I have ever known a person as hard working, dedicated, and honest as you are. Congrats my friend, you deserve it! PS... I can't wait to hear them!!!! 👍👍👍
Thanks man, that means a lot. I appreciate you, all your support and friendship over the years. When are you coming down to hear them? You're welcome any time. I would recommend waiting until I tune them though. I'll get on that when I get back home from the great white North eh!
@@jasonsmith7874 Honestly, the sound of the Sonus Faber was good, but the sound of the Aeris is a whole other level. It's not really a fair comparison given the price difference and the fact the Aeris have an internally powered low end. The same goes for the looks. The Sonetto's looked great and had a nice unique aesthetic, but the Aeris are leagues above. The Aeris speakers are FAR more solid. The Sonetto's almost sounded hollow in a way when you knocked on them, the Aeris are like a solid piece of wood. To be fair, the Sonetto's shouldn't be compared to speakers in this price bracket though.
@SpecOfTech fair enough. I have not looked at the pricing of the legacy speaker line. I did have a chance to listen to the Sonus Faber Olympica Novas at a local shop and the blew me away. Both for sound and their visual appeal was something I've never heard. They retail at 18k a pair but definitely end game towers!
I have always loved Legacy speakers. I only ever owned a pair of 8 inch car audio subs long ago. They were incredible! I’d imagine 35,000 dollars worth of their equipment is breathtaking!
I can’t believe I’m 7 months late to this video. Your speaker selection over time is similar to how I would’ve approached upgrades. I’ve wanted an SVS build for a while, and have always fancied the Legacy Aeris, nice choice there. I also have interest and am hopeful at getting a chance to audition the Revel F228Be's and some of Perlisten’s towers someday. Just like u, I also value a speakers cosmetic presentation which is why if I had to choose from Paradigm’s lineup, I would go with the Founder Series over the Persona’s with no regrets. My left and right mains are bi-amped Paradigm Reference Studio 60 v3’s, with a Paradigm Signature C3 v1, and JBL S36ii’s as my surrounds, all being fed by a Marantz SR7002, with the bottom end being filled out by an SVS PC-2000. I know not the most ideal sonic match, but surprisingly the voicing between the Paradigm’s is excellent and the JBL’s sounded good from the start, but sound nearly perfect after very little correction.
Wonderful presentation and congratulations! It's been great watching your channel grow and become one of the best AV channels on RUclips. Best wishes for continued success.
Wow, thank you so much for the compliment. I still see myself as a guy with so much to learn, and just a small channel. I really appreciate the encouragement my friend, it made my day.
Hi Barrett Great choice of speakers. I have been looking into Legacy Audio since this video and really like what I’m seeing about the company and products. Do you have a possible date for when you will review these speakers you purchased? Thanks

Sweet speakers! Those Paradigms would have been nice, too. Congratulations! Looks are important, especially for your main speakers. That's one reason I chose the Revel Salon 2 over the Magico A5. The other reason is that they sound better, of course. Just bought them!
Hi, would you please be able to do a comparison with d4000 and starke ported sw15p?? I think those would probably be best in price range!! Appreciate your videos!!
Never heard them but watched tons of reviews they come out on a lot of top lists at their price point. Love their design and with the wavelet I think it would be an endgame for most
Great choice! I heard them at a show and was quite impressed with them. I also heard the Paradigm setup and found them too bright for my taste. I use an Aerial Acoustics 7 speaker setup and love them.

I have the Focus SE's and the Studio HD's...about to place an order for the Marquis XD after this video! Question: The Legacy system is already so resolving, I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the AVM 90 thinking it might get TOO detailed or top heavy for these speakers. Since pairing is everything, has the AVM 90 still been the best match with the Legacys? Or something else? You know those AMT tweeters are already sooo clear
I bet these are some of the best speakers under 100k. Look phenomenal too. I have Paradigm Founders in midnight cherry, Focal arias, Kef metas, Ascend Acoustics, rythmik and svs subs all in my house and different rooms. Eventually, my theater room will be legacy audio and jtr subs. Legacy is 2 hours away from me. There's a couple other brands i want to audition, and there's rumblings a Revel Salon replacement is upcoming.
I think Legacy punch above their price point. They offer beauty in appearance and in their sound. I have recently heard the same rumblings of the Revel Salon series. I hope they make appearance a priority, give us something that looks as special as they sound.
Very nice video. One flaw seems to be no link to the system you are using to play through these lovely speakers. Woops spoke too soon. Guess it would be helpful to is to have link in equipment list in the description.
@@SpecOfTech - Of course! Yah - That was a rewarding trip and good experience! I have Montreal coming next ..and Axpona after that. I'll be following the journey you have set here for impressions on the system tuning and balancing =) Im glad this all came around for ya =)
@@psyphonyxaudio Glad to hear you are getting out there and enjoying the shows. I hope to get out to a couple shows this year also, maybe we'll cross paths.
@@SpecOfTech - 100% look forward to a chance to meet and even better .. to listen to something together in person =) Enjoy the process .. im sure opportunities are coming.
Great video man! I'm planning on buying the Aeris towers. I just listen to loud music, dont need all the surround speakers. Do you power the Aeris with monoblocks or can you? If so, what are the best monoblocks, like Plinius?
Great choice, they are beautiful speakers. I am using the Legacy Audio IV-3 amplifier for them. You absolutely could power them with monoblocks. Asking what are the best monoblocks, is like asking what is the best vehicle lol. It depends on you as an individual, your wants, your needs and your budget. That said, I have been very happy with the IV-3 amp powering my speakers. A beautiful amp to go with beautiful speakers.
Looks great. Question, does the wave launch do room correction for all 7 speakers in your system or just the Aeris? If it’s just the Aeris, I wonder how the room correction in your main processor will work with the wave launch. My dream system will include the Lyngdorf MP-40 and using its Room Perfect DSP. I wonder if they would play nice together. It’s probably a moot point, because either the Legacy Signature SE or Focus SE are my realistic speakers in the near future.
if something overaccentuates the highs, that will make everything sound dull when you become accustomed to it though. absolute detail is not really reference, but a preference. nothing wrong with preference though. congrats on getting your dream speakers
The Aeris sound can be completely customized using the Wavelaunch processor. If you want accentuated highs you can have that, if you want the frequency response board flat, you can have that too. These speakers can sound EXACTLY how you want them to sound. Because they are using top tier performing drivers with incredible clarity, you can have absolute detail without accentuating the highs.
@@gaurd3 I feel for ya buddy. The desire to upgrade can be hard to fight off. I have pretty much given up fighting it haha. Good luck on the sales and the upgrades.
Nice! A while back when I was in Edmonton I wanted to go check out the local Legacy dealer and do some auditions, but they were closed that day. Which Legacy speakers do they have for demo?
It's a little early to tell, since I have only spent a few hours listening to the Aeris. I had to leave town for work shortly after they arrived. The bass is definitely more powerful, after all, the Aeris have 1500 watts of internal amplification powering the dual 12" woofers. I also feel the midrange is...bigger or broader I want to say. The midrange just seems to be better, I haven't been able to pinpoint why just yet.
Did you get a chance to audition the Sonus Faber Olympica nova or perlisten speakers while deciding on what you wanted to get? You did say you were considering the persona speakers, was there any other option that was a contender?
Unfortunately no, there is nowhere local that I could audition Sonus Faber speakers, or Perlisten speakers. TBH, there is very little high end hifi gear available for audition in my city. I was looking at KEF Reference 5's as well, but they don't have nearly the bass extension I was hoping for in this price range. JTR was also on the list, but I covered that in the video as well. My criteria was pretty strict, so there wasn't a whole lot that made the short list. I was leaning heavily towards hybrid powered speakers with full range frequency extension. That really limits your options.
@@SpecOfTech Aww that's a real shame, the novas are beautiful and sound amazing. The perlistens don't look as nice as any of the other options you brought up excluding jtr but I think you would really like the sound there as well. Faber doesn't do many trade shows but perlisten seems to be going all over so hopefully you get a chance to hear them at an upcoming audio show.
@@SpecOfTech I've heard the kef reference 5s but it didn't really do much for me, tons of bass and detailed but they didn't really pull me into the music or movies like Faber does
I have heard the KEF Reference center channel, but never their Reference towers. I have no doubt they are fantastic as well. The reason they didn't make my reference list is because they don't have great low end extension, and I wanted a full range speaker for 2 channel listening.
Haha, I can see why you think that. Arendal sent me 2 of their subs for review, they aren't mine to keep. I still have the Tonewinner subs in my system, but they aren't mine to keep either. Eventually they all need to go back, and I need to make a decision what subwoofers I will purchase for my reference system.
No, unfortunately there is no retail locations local to me that carry Perlisten. I wish there were, and I would love audition them. I'm not sure how the Perlistens would compare to the Legacy speakers. They have a very different design philosophy, so it would be quite interesting to hear the differences.
Sweet looking speakers dude! Congrats Barrett I bet they sound the business! My end game 110HT surrounds and dual RS1 subs arrive in a couple of days.....can't beat new av equipment delivery days 😂 enjoy mate
I’m curious about having a switch box to enjoy both a home theater processor and 2ch integrated amp on one set of speakers. I’m close to buying the 2ch integrated amp but wanted to know if a switch box would be the solution to enjoy both worlds on the same speakers
@@SpecOfTech Wow.. that's very impressive. Must check it out myself. I like wide horizontal dispersion when it comes to home theater and music setup. Thanks.
I haven't done a whole lot of critical listening on soundstage and imagine. From what I've heard so far they perform very well in both regards. I'm sure I'll cover that more in the review once I've had more time to do some critical listening.
The Sonetto speakers sound great, but these Legacy speakers are on a whole other level. I'd take these Legacy speakers any day of the week over the Sonetto.
The bass department is very impressive. Each speaker has dual 12" bass drivers with 1500 watts of internal amplification driving them. They have clean, accurate, dynamic and powerful bass.
@@SpecOfTech So they’re totally bass head speakers compared to the Focus SE which in your review from 2 years ago you stated the Focus SE was a great speaker but the two 12 inch drivers had you fooled about the bass department which wasn’t up to your expectations? Are the Aeris up to your bass expectations or exceeding them so far?
Hey buddy!! Please make some more content on your new speaker setup! Maybe how they with and without subs etc! 🎉 (living HT vicariously thru you! Haha) Ps. I was going thru some other RUclips vids today and your “room issues” regarding the frequency dips, came to mind.. have you tried everything m/anything to get rid of those massive dips? I have to imagine there is a way somehow, no? 🎉
I will definitely be making more videos on the Legacy gear. I just have some other videos to get through first. My out of town work schedule has a way of always keeping me behind on the videos I want to make. There are ways to deal with room modes yes. Changing subwoofer placement could help, but can also introduce different ones. Adding some bass traps may help as well. You can also use room calibration or a minidsp to help with room peaks and nulls.
Spech of tech If the Aeris XD speakers have an internal amplifier, and are fully active (powered) speakers, why do they have 4 speaker binding posts in the back?
They aren't fully active, they are a hybrid speaker. Only the 2 12" drivers (bass section) are powered. There are only 2 binding posts on the back for the upper and midrange.
lmao, I had a hard enough time finding an audio rack that could hold this beast. I wonder what the biggest and heaviest center channel out there weighs...?
I would love to review and measure one of their Goliath subwoofers. Maybe now that I have a full Legacy system, they will work with me and send me some gear to review.

Very nice video. One flaw seems to be no link to the system you are using to play through these lovely speakers. Woops spoke too soon. Guess it would be helpful to is to have link in equipment list in the description.
Congrats !! Happy for you !!
Thank you! I hope despite getting sick, you had a good time in Florida.
@@SpecOfTech - 100% look forward to a chance to meet and even better .. to listen to something together in person =)
Enjoy the process .. im sure opportunities are coming.
Nice Tonewinner subwoofer in back right. Love to see the review on it soon !
My favorite brand of all time!!
Same
Looks great.
Would love to see you do a review on the Aperion Audio T80 speaker
Awesome system Barrett. Do you use a Wavelet make a huge difference
And I think this was my favourite video of yours. Even beats the 24” Funk blowing out the candle from across the room 😀
Lol that was one beastly subwoofer.
if something overaccentuates the highs, that will make everything sound dull when you become accustomed to it though. absolute detail is not really reference, but a preference. nothing wrong with preference though. congrats on getting your dream speakers
Hi Barrett my name is Benjamin I also have the Aeris speakers. Congratulations, awesome set up.
How long have you had the Aeris? Did you fine tune them to your preference?
Wow loving your video and upgrades that you have 👏👏👏keep it going !
Thanks brother, I appreciate that.
Congratulations my guy , I have been watching some your videos nice choice truly reference speakers enjoy fellow enthusiasts
Thanks buddy, much appreciated!
Nicks picks. JTR are made to be hidden. What do you use to offload your old heavy stuff? FB?
I use FB marketplace, Canuck Audio Mart and Kijiji. I usually cross post on all 3.
@@SpecOfTech Ok cool. I’m getting the itch again and promised myself to offload the gear first. Itch always bubbles up.
@@gaurd3 I feel for ya buddy. The desire to upgrade can be hard to fight off. I have pretty much given up fighting it haha. Good luck on the sales and the upgrades.
Nice speakers, looking forward to the in-depth review 👍👍.
Thank you!
Sic set up ! Definitely gonna sound amazing once set up and broken in !! Love the “end game for now” lol😅
Thank you! Lol I try to be honest with myself. I have learned to never say never, because part of this hobby is the acquisition of new gear haha.
Awesome video, I’m getting the itch again 👀👀👀. Love the video!
Thanks bud, I'm sorry to your bank account if this inspires you to spend money lol.
Cool stuff. Listened to these at the dealer just 3hrs north of you. Heard chocolate chip trip by tool and it was super impressive.
Nice! A while back when I was in Edmonton I wanted to go check out the local Legacy dealer and do some auditions, but they were closed that day. Which Legacy speakers do they have for demo?
@@SpecOfTech they regularly have the aeris xd and calibre. I think the calibre they have is an active model.
I had a pair , amazing speakers!!!!!!
I demoed the aries and focus at the home office with Bill. Loved them both! However i ended up with the TAD evolution ones instead 😊
I have never heard the TAD's, but they have a slick classic look, nice choice!
Congratulations, beautiful speakers
Thank you!
Awesome Video as Always! Where can I listen to these ? Legacy (Audition) ? I'm in NY on Long Island. Thanks again for all your great video's
Thanks brother. Try Epic Systems: www.epicsystems.tech/epic-home-theater-showroom-nj
Talk to Stharling, tell him I sent you.
@@SpecOfTech Awesome, Thank you.
How do the Aeris compare to the Focus?
@@SpecOfTech I've heard the kef reference 5s but it didn't really do much for me, tons of bass and detailed but they didn't really pull me into the music or movies like Faber does
Very cool speakers! Were you able to audition Revel or Kef's bigger speakers?
I have heard the KEF Reference center channel, but never their Reference towers. I have no doubt they are fantastic as well. The reason they didn't make my reference list is because they don't have great low end extension, and I wanted a full range speaker for 2 channel listening.
Whispers of newer versions of Revel salons coming
Was that an Xilica XP or XD? The XD will do FIR filters.
Despite some praising towards Tonewinner subs, you are running Arendal 😉
Haha, I can see why you think that. Arendal sent me 2 of their subs for review, they aren't mine to keep. I still have the Tonewinner subs in my system, but they aren't mine to keep either. Eventually they all need to go back, and I need to make a decision what subwoofers I will purchase for my reference system.
Congrats on a remarkable system!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Did you ever take a listen to perlisten? Any comparison? Your new center is quite a beast. Wonder how it compares
No, unfortunately there is no retail locations local to me that carry Perlisten. I wish there were, and I would love audition them. I'm not sure how the Perlistens would compare to the Legacy speakers. They have a very different design philosophy, so it would be quite interesting to hear the differences.
Why not order Legacy Audio Valor?? Just curious.
Congratulations your system is amazing I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks brother, I appreciate that. I also hope I enjoy them for many years to come.
Excellent speakers , enjoy.
Thank you.
Sweet looking speakers dude! Congrats Barrett I bet they sound the business! My end game 110HT surrounds and dual RS1 subs arrive in a couple of days.....can't beat new av equipment delivery days 😂 enjoy mate
Haha, thanks brother. I love JTR too, their subwoofers are king for home theater. Enjoy the setup dude!
If u didnt mention in vid What was the cost total?
I’m curious about having a switch box to enjoy both a home theater processor and 2ch integrated amp on one set of speakers. I’m close to buying the 2ch integrated amp but wanted to know if a switch box would be the solution to enjoy both worlds on the same speakers
Absolutely it would. Here is a video I made about that exact subject: ruclips.net/video/rDOk-FP8Apk/видео.html
😮 Holy Schnapps Batman!!!! Those look glorious!!! 😮 Good for you man. I can't wait for your upcoming videos.
Thank you! I can't wait to make more videos about this set up. Legacy did a stellar job with all these speakers.
In terms of looks and your choices the Legacy is your end game.
I agree, I don't see there be anything else out there that will suit my needs and wants more than these do.
What is horizontal and vertical dispersion like if it uses two ribbons? Does it give wider dispersion?
The soundstage on the Aeris is very large. It fills the room and even sounds like it's behind you sometimes...very impressive.
@@SpecOfTech Wow.. that's very impressive. Must check it out myself. I like wide horizontal dispersion when it comes to home theater and music setup. Thanks.
How well do they communicate depth (behind the speaker)? My Whispers do depth extremely well, and yours should be better than mine!!!😊
I haven't done a whole lot of critical listening on soundstage and imagine. From what I've heard so far they perform very well in both regards. I'm sure I'll cover that more in the review once I've had more time to do some critical listening.
Very nice and very expensive. Ive never seen a center speaker that large before. Happy days for you :)
WTF CENTER CHANNEL!!!!!
That has to sound amazing!
Haha, it absolutely does!
Hey, love your videos! How do these speakers compare to the sonus faber sonetto. What speakers sound better in your opinion with 2ch music?
The Sonetto speakers sound great, but these Legacy speakers are on a whole other level. I'd take these Legacy speakers any day of the week over the Sonetto.
Understood!😊
I knew it was them. Congratulations!!!!
Thanks brother!
I want to say looks aren't that important to me until I see these beautiful suckers! I wish I could go back to being ignorant of how awsome these are.
Beautiful monsters! How’s the bass department?
The bass department is very impressive. Each speaker has dual 12" bass drivers with 1500 watts of internal amplification driving them. They have clean, accurate, dynamic and powerful bass.
@@SpecOfTech So they’re totally bass head speakers compared to the Focus SE which in your review from 2 years ago you stated the Focus SE was a great speaker but the two 12 inch drivers had you fooled about the bass department which wasn’t up to your expectations? Are the Aeris up to your bass expectations or exceeding them so far?
Great choice.
Thank you.
Congrats they looks incredible enjoy them and when you get the itch again let me know first..😊
lol I hope I don't get the itch for a long time now. These speakers are like Gold Bond anti-itch ointment haha.
Pretty cool speakers
i cant wait to see what subs are going to go with these
Me too! I am still undecided on subwoofers, I'm keeping an open mind though.
Hey buddy!! Please make some more content on your new speaker setup! Maybe how they with and without subs etc! 🎉 (living HT vicariously thru you! Haha)
Ps.
Are you going to try one of their subs also?
I don't have any plans to at the moment, but who knows.
I hope you do. It’s hard to find reviews on their subs. Man! They look badass though
Whoa, is that about $60k in speakers…?😮
I don't spend and tell lol. Let's just say it took a long time of saving and selling a lot of gear to get them.
Nice system but you need a bigger center channel. Just kidding that thing is huge.
lmao, I had a hard enough time finding an audio rack that could hold this beast. I wonder what the biggest and heaviest center channel out there weighs...?
You need a couple Goliaths now.
I would love to review and measure one of their Goliath subwoofers. Maybe now that I have a full Legacy system, they will work with me and send me some gear to review.
🎉wow amazing! 😎👍
demo's please :)
Thanks for zooming out a bit
I aim to please :).
Enjoy
