Saw Joe perform as Tobias a week or so after his debut. He was terrific. His voice was beautiful. A really nice video here captures Joe’s facial expressions, particularly his eyes, which are so sincere and vulnerable.
He really does a magnificent Tobias, I don't think people often recognize his story arc because it isn't really spoken, the world has used a child's values to make him a killer, ties back to Epiphany.
Honestly I will just say one word - WOW! You would not think he is having his debut. This is probably the strongest performance of this song I have seen for a long time.
Many people comment on Joe’s singing, but he also is acting the heck out of this character. His performance here is more nuanced than (dare I say it) Sutton Foster. You can feel a desperation in Tobias to protect Mrs. Lovett.
great voice, like I knew quite a few of the cast could sing well, but I didn't know he had such a clear and good voice like this, a perfect fit for some musical theatre
We saw him on Broadway a month ago singing this song. I have been a fan ever since season one of Heartstoppers and am so pleased with the talents of all of the Heartstoppers characters. I agree with comments that he needs more recognition, however I also want him peace and privacy.
You realize of course that filming on any device during the performance is prohibited right? Says so in all Playbill programs issued to attendees as they enter the theater. It's also displayed in the theater lobby and may be announced just before the curtain rises.
It's not allowed true, but it only a clip that probably generates more hype and helps with ticket sales, so I'm sure nothing much will happen now it's been done
His chest voice is stunning and his mix into his head voice is utter perfection! Like, wow!

Totally agree. If Joe's eyes were any more expressive they could stop wars.
being a joe locke fan is a constant battle between wanting him to get more recognition and wanting to gatekeep him forever
REAL OMG
So. Real.
Totally get that.
MY JAW DROPPED WHEN HE STARTED SINGING
His Broadway debut and he sings to Sutton Foster.
I KNOW!!!!!!!!
When he was talking to kit and said he couldn’t be in a musical because he doesn’t have the voice. Me when he started singing:😧😮
The voice of an ANGEL he's such a perfect Tobias!!!!!
OMG he can sing beautifully? Grr why is Joe so cute and talented
I don't know. He's amazing! I love his voice!
Honestly I will just say one word - WOW!

Saw this today. The whole cast is phenomenally good. A theatre masterpiece, performed by a brilliant cast.
The talent is through the roof girl.
I am in tears. This performance was immaculate.

HE CAN SING 😆❤
Poor Joe/Tobias doesn’t realize that Mrs. Lovett is one of the demons he’s warning her about.
Saw him Friday night. He was fantastic! Also Sutton Foster is a national treasure.
SO GOOD TOGETHER
It's good casting. Toby's such a sweethearted character. He just got the wrong end of the stick about Mrs Lovett.
He is so wonderful, nothing he can't do.
Trueeee
Well done Joe. Beautiful rendition of the song. Good luck with all you do. X

oh hush this is beautiful
Sadly no one cares any more, they feel entitled to video shows
This is true, however, these videos probably do more to boost ticket sales and create buzz than any paid advertising.
Secretly recording copyrighted material is a crime. You should take this down regardless of how you feel about the performance.
one of the least enforced laws ever lmfao if they don’t catch u the night of you’re fine
🤣😂
