Dear Olivia, perhaps one was born a few decades later, even long after you shone on this earth with your beautiful voice and all these beautiful songs so full of love, life and so pure. In life you were an angel who illuminated everything I sang and everything I did. And that you showed so much strength and courage in the face of your disease, and you beat it for almost 30 years and that speaks of what a warrior you were. In life you also went through happy and sad and strange situations, but you always knew how to move forward without falling into the bad. You were, are and will be one of all my favorite stars. I love you very much, your smile, your look, your kindness will never be forgotten. With love for you, simply Yuyo.
Ha! ha! ha! Very droll! At least Les didn't do his Cosmo Smallpiece (dirty old man character!) "knickers, knockers, knackers! ooh!" Anyway, certainly 2 great stars, both so much missed.
The much underrated and under appreciated multi-talented Les Dawson and the beautiful Olivia! That playful pat on the bottom would get you cancelled and sent to another planet these days!
Yeah i get that was kind of funny but wouldn't say it was a pat and she looked a little stunned by it i thought and when you think about what terrible things were actually going on back then with the likes of the sick paedos Saville and Glitter maybe she didn't really like that but didn't want to offend Les on his own show 🤔 but im sure they have made up in heaven R.I.P Les and Olivia 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😥😥😥
That was fun. Les made Livvie laugh so many times, and what started off as a send-up of the difference between generations ended up very natural and sweet.
A mate of mine who was very taken by Livvy got a ticket to the recording of this show. When it was shown on the television, nearly ten years before video recorders, he taped it through a microphone and played it to me, more than once. I have never seen the clip until now. Thanlks for putting this up.
You and me both. She was absolutely perfect. I really have never seen a woman so beautiful. There is nothing about her that is unattractive. Such a nice lady too. She was too good for this awful world.
Growing up as a kid in the 70's I can't remember this. These two are amazing together, She is a lot more amazing than Les, We all loved them both. Quality.
Beautiful person ONJ 🙏🏻RIP …. Les , my fathers friend sat in a hotel Bar with him in the late 70’s, he said what a great genuine person he was, had him in stitches all night,
Was there ever a lovlier girl? These two work well together. Les, 'I've never been so insulted.' 'Olivia, 'Oh, you must have been.' Les, 'Where have you been all my life?' 'Olivia, 'For most of it I wasn't even born.'
I miss the variety shows I watched as a kid growing up. Tom Jones, Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett, Flip Wilson, Sonny and Cher, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Donny and Marie, etc. Were they corny? Yes, a fair amount of the time. But they provided a respite from the seriousness of life. Just an hour you could watch and relax and be entertained by light fare before you had to get back to reall life and it's problems.
Surely the good old BBC will do a decent tribute show to Olivia as soon as they can? They should invite as many of her friends and fellow singers/stars as possible. It would be great if John Travolta, Abba, Barry Gibb, and (Sir) Cliff Richard could partake. Maybe Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Jeff Lynne (ELO), and John Farrar (musician/composer - of The Shadows) too?
Such an natural beauty. Sadly together with Les no longer with us. Not forgetting John Denver who wrote Country Roads. My generation are all disappearing leaving me with only the enjoyment of the memories of witnessing them.
So many positive comments here, the clip is clearly appreciated. For me, though I love both Les and ONJ I found this cringey. It didn’t work for me. I thought his back and forths with Dame Shirley Bassey was a much funnier version. Like I say, I love both of these collosususus though ❤️

For the most part Les plays the comic relief to Olivia's wonderful "straight act," singing. But Les was easily the equal of Olivia Newton John and considering Les Dawson's other multitude of talents you could almost call him superior. I Olivia was as much the all round entertainer that Les was and that wasn't her act anyway, even though it could have easily been.

what a gem of a clip. both legends. "where you been all my life"? "most of it i wasnt born"🤣
'Can you sing with a broken arm?' 😂
Olivia Newton John was such a stunner...
Olivia was so perfectly feminine and gentle. And what about that beautiful smile. No wonder so many of us young guys had a crush on her.
Such talent, such a sweet perfect voice, great timing with stage presence, Olivia wasn’t bad either…….
RIP you two amazing people🙏
Ha! ha! ha! Very droll!

She enjoyed it. How could one be offended? Olivia isn't daft, she's a great sport. I smiled and laughed through all that.
This is magical to watch Les was such a genuine down to earth talent and Olivia is just divine.
What a sweetheart she was a truly lovely person.
Kids these are from a time when the world was so so so so much better than the twitter days of today. You will never know what you missed xx
Never knew this existed. They were both class acts and sorely missed..
The much underrated and under appreciated multi-talented Les Dawson and the beautiful Olivia!
That playful pat on the bottom would get you cancelled and sent to another planet these days!
Can't blame Les for writing that in. Well played Les, well played 😄

She is so sweet. beautiful voice , beautiful woman. Sensory overload. Her and Les Dawson is just plain surreal and yet it worked
Grammar ... She and Les Dawson are just plain...
@@susanford2388 You're quite correct. It was a poorly constructed sentence.
@@johnvalentine4720 did not mean to offend. Thank you for being so courteous.
what a well-civilized conversation.

R.I.P. Sandy! You and Les Dawson will be remembered always and forever ♥️!
It’s lovely to hear Les singing. He had a beautiful voice.
Olivia was so fantastic.
That was fun. Les made Livvie laugh so many times, and what started off as a send-up of the difference between generations ended up very natural and sweet.

Beautiful person ONJ 🙏🏻RIP …. Les , my fathers friend sat in a hotel Bar with him in the late 70’s, he said what a great genuine person he was, had him in stitches all night,
This worked.
They looked so relaxed together, and it was a joy to watch.
Two of my all time favourite stars at their best love them. 😉
Beautiful Olivia RIP Sweet Angel 💔
This is so poignant watching this now.The interplay between them is absolute gold
Possibly more unlikely than Les's two spots with Shirley Bassey over the years. Fabulous.
Must be early BBC. Always wondered what the rhythm section was doing so thanks for turning them up. Nobody wants to hear ONJ right? Well done boys.
Was there ever a lovlier girl? These two work well together. Les, 'I've never been so insulted.' 'Olivia, 'Oh, you must have been.' Les, 'Where have you been all my life?' 'Olivia, 'For most of it I wasn't even born.'
They BOTH were “Lighting in a bottle” - So miss them both! 😔

Ah they were the days. "Country Roads" is new!!
The most unlikely team up but I just love it.
What a sweetie
funny and beautiful at same time such nice sincere people

An absolute joy to watch, and to listen to…..

She was sooo beautiful and funny !
September 1974, 4 years before the 'Grease' movie.
I would have just turned 10, and Olivia was 26.
Geniales!!!
I miss them both ❤️
Fookin' love Olivia Neutron Bomb.💜🇬🇧
Fantastic less is just great she has the voice of an angel
Wow that was awesome thanks 💖
Such an natural beauty. Sadly together with Les no longer with us. Not forgetting John Denver who wrote Country Roads. My generation are all disappearing leaving me with only the enjoyment of the memories of witnessing them.
Back in the days when you could slap someone playfully on the ass on TV and no one would be offended by it. Nice clip; bounced off each other well.
I envy that man's hand. 💗 Love Livvy. I find it impossible not to fall for her.
Solid gold entertainment!
Les always reminded me of Cliff, they danced the same.
Оливия - прелесть!!!
RIP both.
Wow great stuff here, (And a lot of work to get it this smooth)
Love them both 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Les Dawson only you could pull this off
Lovely!
Genius....and Olivia Newton John! Lol🤭 RIP to both!!
Can you imagine that being made now LOL . TV ain't worth shit now.
Wow never seen that before. Loved Les and his cheeky bum slap there set me right off. Both sad losses.
Les could sing... !
Was this after the Eurovision Song Contest, because she moved to the USA shortly after that.
Класс ❤
