Your performance of "Don't Know Why" was sublime. Brought a tear to my eye, no joke. 👍 I'd love a thunderbird but I wish epiphone did a short scale version. After all, Gibson did.
Thank you! You are so kind! I often contemplate making a short scale thunderbird-style bass. It does something different than what I already have! But the body shape takes getting used to and the example I used to film this video was not at all comfortable to play.
Interesting that it sounds sorta like my Rickenbacker 4003. I've never had a Thunderbird--I wouldn't mind having one. They look cool and sound good, but I'm afraid with the strap button so far to the right and with me having short arms, it wouldn't work for me ergonomically (too long of a reach to the nut). Unfortunately, that's why I have a hard time playing Spector basses, which I love, but they tire my left arm out almost immediately.
It is a very big instrument. If you play sort of high, the neck drive won't bother you because your arm will rest on the body as a counterweight. But the body is slightly offset, which means it feels really big to play. It doesn't bother me too much personally. But it sounds so much like a "Jazz bass with humbuckers" that if you don't care about how it looks or how quirky the ergonomics are and prioritize comfort & ease of play, ...don't buy a TB

I'd really like to see that. No pressure 😎
One day! Not sure if it would soon though!
I have the Harley Benton TB version. ❤ It is heavy, sexy and plays beautifully. Rock on!
Right on! Thx for watching!

Yeah, this thunderbird is HUGE on me. Low Fs are pretty far away! It also neck dives like crazy. Having said that, it oozes character in it’s tone.

Very true, gotta be excited by the whole package. Thx for watching!
Nice job on the 'keys', love the shape, not a fan of ceramics pickups
Thx for watching! Definitely a cool shape. I want to try the dingwall version
@@jonathanwong458music The Dingwall version is very cool looking, I think it uses Neodymium pickups . . .
Doesn't it look cool??! likely similar to the T-bird, it will probably feel and look absolutely gigantic on me, haha.
Very deep muddy sound, but I still like it
Definitely has character! Thx for watching!
Can be, but can also be bright a ring like a piano. It really is a versatile bass.
@@DJFonzi Thanks for watching!
