I am the complete opposite: I prefer single shadows to palettes. I organize them in a rainbow gradient in my adept cosmetics palette (getting another one soon they are so great). Then if I am making a look I can see all the colors I have an play around more
I do the same thing. I've got the double sided Adept palette, did a small declutter but, bought new shades. So now I need another palette. I've got to stop! Is there an Eye Shadow Anonymous?
Instead of arranging my singles within a brand, I arrange mine by color scheme. My greens (bright to olive to goldish), my blues, my browns, my darks, my lights...all grouped but I make sure to include a complimentary transition shade and darker outer corner (if one isn't part of that grouping). This way, if I want to create a purple or green look, I grab that scheme. Granted, a lot of my color schemes are within the same palette...it just helps me in my non-creative mind be able to put together a complete eye look. LOVE all of the shades and appreciate you swatching all of the Colourpop. I found some I NEED. ♥️
I feel silly because I'm wanting to go towards more singles and just sticking to them. Lol funny how we discover our tastes as we go into our makeup journey

Hey girl! I don’t know if anyone has commented this yet, BUT, you can also go through the colourpop singles and go through your colourpop palettes and see if there are any duplicates. I know sandbar (that you got rid of) is in the ooh la la palette. Glass bull I think was in that one or the it’s my pleasure palette. I know you love that one, but it means you don’t need the single shadow!
Yes I like declutters it helps me to get rid makeup I’m not using and to declutter myself. I think it’s different to see an influencer who doesn’t have an obscene amount of makeup in their possession because you know they’ll never use ALL that makeup. You have a more realistic amount. Great job! I also just decluttered my single eyeshadows. I have to arrange my singles so that I pair them so I know the color stories. For example, I wear purple with gold so I put them together, etc.

Yay!! I really enjoyed that! You did a great job designing that little MUG travel palette, and I think you’ll get a lot of good looks out of the other ones as well. I have that same Tarte leopard print magnetic palette! I’m not super talented with eye makeup and kind of “paint by numbers,” so I keep my singles divided into four sections: light, mid tone matte/transition, dark for outer corner, and lid shades. Then I play around pulling one from each group and seeing what combinations I like. It’s helped me become more confident with my singles for sure! Good work with this task, Samantha! Keep us updated with which looks you create!
I prefer singles, like i make sure that i give every one love. And when picking up a pallete, i go to every shade individually, and before buying it i have to be sure that i’ll use every single one of the colors, if not, its very rare that i’ll buy it
I was actually decluttering some single shadows while watching this. I love singles becuase i make small captual palettes that I am inspired by. It's a really good way to shop your stash.

Just a tip - if you have problems with creating looks using your single shadows, try to organize them somehow. Have a look at a photo of a palette that caught your attention but you didn't necessarily buy it. You can get inspired by that palette and rearrange your single shadows so that the final product is similar to that palette. I am not saying it has to be an exact dupe but it could help you with the color combinations and such. I for example build my own version of the Natasha Denona Gold Palette and now, I use my singles almost every day since the color story and layout make much more sense.
You decluttered everything so quickly (even with editing). I feel like I've been decluttering my single and depotted shades for weeks. 😂 Agree with you with the black shadows. Never reach for them. I'm always scared they're gonna break and ruin my other shades!

The small 9 pan palette from make up geek is what I always travel with. It's great deciding what shades you want to take before you go away. I often put a blush in too and take fewer eye shadows 😀💕

Girl I would take your declutter except the blues. I know how to use alcohol to sanitize. I have several pinned on pinterest to show how to set up a palette to help use color stories. MUG was my first purchases as well. When my daughter moved out she took 90% as she does freelance bridal. Think I need to do the same with mine as I've had for quite some time

I’m a creative person and love mixing looks across my palettes so that’s why I think I might enjoy the freedom of singles, but it feels like a lot of commit to? It’s a strangely challenging choice to have to make!

But I decluttered just a bunch of singles in bulky packaging, they can be gorgeous but it's so hard to imagine looks with those like which palette can I take to combine... Bought 2 palettes full of colourpop singles, one in the premade "here comes the sun" palette and one with only me colours. And I loooove them lol

Just curious as I have mine arranged by color, but I don’t have to list the products every time I use them - lol. You should keep your singles. There are instagram pages of people putting together curated palettes with a theme for inspiration! That’s what I try to do.
