I'm looking forward to seeing how this knife stops back. This is all about practical use and that's what matters to me in my daily use of knives. Thank you for taking the time to keep making these videos. 👍
I think it will do very well, especially on wood. It is so responsive to stropping that using wood will be similar to conventional sharpening (stones). Unless your technique is perfect on leather, you will eventually convex your bevel and/or round your apex. Wood also cuts more aggressively, so it's possible that given a certain amount of passes, you will be removing more fatigued steel than you would using leather.
Steel and use depends on what strops I use. I prefer bass wood and that is what I'll use for this VG-10 tu see how long the service life can be extended.
I have been a fan of VG10. Always treated me pretty well. Thanks for sharing Gerald!

Good video man! I'm a fan of vg10 for the most part. Sharpens up crazy easy and still has decent edge retention
It did much better than I gave it credit. It does strop back nicely too.
Great video!
Thank you
Nothing wrong with vg-10 in my opinion. I have a few knives with it and they seem to hold up well. Thanks for sharing the info buddy.
You're welcome
