Wow! Great to find your video. We have a 1946 CJ-2A that is original and has an Auto-Lite regulator and when we turn on the headlights the Ammeter shows a slight discharge but not with daylight driving. This Jeep is a "one owner" as I was with my parents when they bought it!! Should I try to adjust the charge? Thanks for the video as it is wonderful to find someone who knows about such things. Best of luck! The Stokes family, Idaho Falls, ID
Reg Clement in Carmel, Maine is the gentleman in the video. He would be happy to talk with you by phone to help solve this problem: (207) 848-3404 He is very knowledgeable about old generators and has done great work for us. Good luck!
hi i have a 6 volt autolight generator with a cutout on it the generator works but how do you wire up the cutout it has 2 leads one marked b the other marked s i know the b to batery but the s has got me thanke Ron
I found an old motor in my basement that had been there for years. It has a plate on it that says Auto-lite with these numbers GBM4809BH5 12D. Would you happen to know anything about this motor or generator?
I didn’t get how to adjust the amps or the volts all I got out of this video is that water will get in a generator so make sure it drains......I can figure that so I wasted my data watching this.
He showed the process of polarizing the generator. This is accomplished by using a jumper wire across the cutout. Which is shown by the gen motoring. This should be done whenever the battery is changed out or disconnected. If not, no charge
Old enough to know what they're doing, but young enough to still be alive. A rare breed. God bless!
This information is priceless. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Also caught that familiar Mainah accent.
I knew he was a fellow Mainah! Greetings from Camden!!
