Why would a snapring break when the rocker bolt is keeping the arm/trunnion in there? it sounds more like a manufacturing defect rather than a design defect
If you get yourself some Smalley Tapered section snaprings and replace the cheap chinese snaprings Scorpion uses and theyll be alot more reliable...Even the New Comp Cams full roller rockers get really loose as the clips have filed down to half their thickness in my application that doesnt have even 7000 miles on it..
I've been tempted but haven't yet. I just ordered a set of Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum XD Roller Rocker. They are very nice! I spent the extra money because it's for the circle track engine that sees a ton of abuse.
I’ve heard mixed reviews on the scorpions.. I thought I remember hearing there’s a couple different versions of them.. “race” set which is high quality and a regular “street” set of a lesser quality. Don’t quote me on that, I’ve got scorpions on my sbc I’ll have to pay more attention to them now.
Hey brother I just order the scorpion roller rockers for a 1967 Ford mustang with a 289 2 barrel should I not get those or should I continue to put them in the car that just ordered them from summit???
They work, I still run them on one build but bought replacements for the other. Basically they do great for awhile but wear out relatively quickly compared to say the Comps.

The bearings work loose from the housing and side load the snap rings until they break.

Have you used PRW Pro rockers?
If so, what do you think of them?

What's scorpion have to say about this?
Wear out items. I still use them when on a budget. The comps just seem to last a lot longer.
@@diyracing3049 thanks
Same exact thing happened to my Scorpion rockers
more moving parts, more problems. 12 hp gain isn't worth it. I'll stick with stamped rockers.

Performance engines there’s always a lot of variables, so is it more likely a manufacturer defect or builder operator? Something to ponder on.
