Installing LED Gauge Lights - 1979 C3 Corvette

- In this video I install LED gauge lights on my 1979 C3 Corvette. This install required some fixing an issue with the printed circuit board (PCB) for the dash gauges, and painting the dash gauge cluster so that both the dash gauge cluster and the console instrument cluster emit the same color of light. I ended up replacing all gauge bulbs with LED's except for the warning indicator lights, and the turn signal blinker lights. Those lights have a colored film in front that project the desired color, and leds that are a different color than the colored film will wash out the colored film, hence why I chose to leave those as normal incandescent bulbs.

Great Videos Guy!!!!!
Thanks!
Very helpful. Thanks.
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Looks Great
Thanks!
Hey good video. What color was the ground wire or where was it supposed to go to. Went to replace some bulbs and now they wont work at all.
The ground wire is a black wire that attaches to the birdcage on the driver side. I believe in the video I show how I am giving it a ground for testing
Did you use the 194 led bulbs for the speedometer and tachometer? Did you leave the incandescent bulbs for the high beams, directional? I am in the process of taking my 1981 apart right now. Thank you
Yup! 194 led bulbs and I left the original style incandescent bulbs in for all lights that are behind a colored film. On the backside of the cluster I believe the grey bulb connectors are the ones that I left alone, and the blue ones are the ones that were replaced with leds
Hey just commented on your side pipe videos, but don’t know if you’ll respond in that one so I’ll ask you here again, could you tell me the exact hardware to buy to mount the side pipes, would greatly appreciate it thanks 👍🏽
I replied on the side pipe video incase anyone else is interested in that response :)
