I get obsessed with Loc number, trying to achieve a certain look. I watch tay ladawn and queen eleem and they actually measured their scalp space to determine how many locs to put on their head

Yes, those ladies took their time and were very precise in their approach to installation. What I have found out is that the number doesn't matter, 100 or 600 is going to look different on folks. It comes down to time and cost if self maintaining or paying someone. I say try out the look you envision if you can, and remember it's not permanent yet, you can change in the early stage.

I have 297 locks and think they are too small🤣 only because I feel I want the minimal time spent on my hair.

I know, we want to spend the least amount of time so that means bigger locs if self maintaining. I'm good with the size I have now.
