I’m with you in regards to decorating. Most of my decor hasn’t changed in years! I do much better with “decorating” my yard-not as much pressure to get it right.
Not always. I need to quickly choose my items, then reinsert. I just bought a picture frame with damage because I didn't notice the crack. I should have known because it was in the wrong area...someone else had taken a good look and put it back. But, on the whole, the good outweighs the bad.
I always end up with stained things! I go over them in the store like crazy! I have started throwing them up in my photo area now to inspect before i even start listing. Saves me from doing all the work to find out that there is a stain under the good lighting.
I always do a double check on my cart items.I really do not want to buy and sell chip, cracked, broke, and stained. I use to just absorb the loss when I was a volume buyer and seller but now I don't. I find a bright window and pull out a loupe and check thoroughly. Don't laugh...but I even picture my items in the store since I have them laid out for inspection. The pictures process makes flaws pop.
Completely understand. Been there. Done that. 25 years of high volume sales and I'm slowing down. Now I am TRYING to take everything Ive learned and buy high ROI items. I want to sell less but make the same money. . It is/was exceptionally hard to stop buying everything that would make a good profit. Sorting my cart really helped me achieve my personal goal .
We sell a few sets every week. Sometimes some people just can't sell certain things for me it is ties. I see other people do it but I tried and no luck. I sell handkerchiefs well also and a few people have told me there's don't sell and others tell me theirs do
I am getting better about checking my stuff before checkout, but I do forget and end up with chips and stains too. I do a lot of estate sales and they don't like when you carry things around. Some want you to use a hold table.
Such great items...fun video. Love all bears. Thanks for the information! I do a look through before I check out.And like you...sometimes I miss chips or small cracks. Ugh. which reminds me to never rush out...thank you
Score on the Robert Raikes bears! I didn't know they were made without wood faces? I've only found one, so i'm hoarding it for right now. That seemed like a pretty good thrift store. I am a sucker for plush. Especially if they are jointed and have clothing 😅 ... like Boyd's & Ty. I use them to decorate for different holidays. I told my mom and dad, "I must not have had any plush growing up!" I do check my card before going to the register. It never fails... I get home and something is cracked or chipped. 😢
Yes, I have done that for a very long time, but after constantly getting stuck with a death pile and then pretty much donating back to the thrift. I have slowed down. If not keeping track of every single cent of all items you spent money on but didn't recoup cost. You won't know how much cash is just going down the toilet. We tend to convince ourselves oh I only paid a dollar but buying multiple items weekly for 8 years , it's more of a loss than you can imagine. Kat, I'm surprised you don't double check condition.
I forget the brand, but it was a vintage Shabby chic type, ( shower Curtain )that the line had made all kinds of matching items, no longer sold. Paid $4.00 and sone sold it for $80.00 plus s&h. W/O a liner that would have come with it
I double check my entire cart next to a bright window (if I can) before checkout and I still miss stains. We live off 301 in north fl and have been to a lot of the same church thrifts you’ve shown. I love the St. Theresa Catholic Church Thrift Shop, and Humane Society Thrift Store in Ocala. Anytime we are down that way I have to stop in.
Unfortunately, I don't usually have a lot of time when thrifting because I have a 4 and 1 yo so I either have them or need to get them. Because of this I generally end up with items that have some flaws. I don't like that because I'm generally much more careful, but right now I don't check my cart as much as I would like.
Yeah for me I go to 4 or 5 stores in a day and am a hour from home so not much excess time either and if Dalton is with me he wouldn't tolerate it for sure (I also can't go to that many if he's with me LOL)
You should hear me over here! To the right.... no.... to the left! Lol. Great haul! You know what I love about you? You interact. Makes me feel like a pal!
Love the linens! That store was great. I just can't imagine traveling so far for a haul. Long rides are not good for my lower back. Thanks Kat! Your videos are always educational and entertaining.
Those bears were everything...I've worked for a retail furniture store for many years & have a background in art ,so decorating is easy for me... Love you ❤
I always check and double check my cart. I enjoy your thrift with me videos. It's great how you tell the thought behind each pick up or put back. I've learned alot from watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
I do re-check my items before I purchase them. It helps me make sure I didn't grab something as an impulse buy that really isn't that great. Also, I've found the lights near the checkout area are often better and I often find chips or flaws I missed while shopping.
@@katstreasurehunting Hoping to broaden the radius of shopping soon. Really want to go to Madison Bouckville in August but not sure we can make it happen
I would too unfortunately there aren't good ones within a hour + of me most times (I check) So I go when they are worth it but if none I hit up the thrift stores :)
I didn't know anything about these bears so thank you for the info. I have learned to check my items for cracks, stains or seams coming apart, but I still miss some. At least you have some we basically don't have anything LOL A few things here and there, but not much
Love you Kat!!❤
Thank you

Yeah I agree it's luckily not a high percent I end up with too much issues
Love the bears!
Thank you
Just an idea- you should research vintage cookbooks - easy to photo & Ship + amazing ROI !
Great idea!!

I’ve listed cloth napkins and matching cloth place mats many times and for me they just sit and sit

With having to go to 3 or 4 stores in a day a hour from home I don't have time. I also sell most items with flaws it's very minimal what I discard

I like decorating, but my problem is I have way too much of an eclectic style, so my house ends up looks cluttered.
My house is cluttered without decorating LOL step 1 for me is probably de clutter so I have room to decorate!
You n me…linens and nightgowns. Addicted!
Hahahaha yes
Yes i take my cart to where i can find good light look over clothing for flaws and look up any brands i dont know

LOL if I tried I'm scared what it would look like but I might give it a try LOL ;-)
Yes ! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 A new video!!!!! And my favorite kind!
Glad you enjoy!
Holy moly bears! I've learned the painful lesson to "recheck" my items before checkout. Also, a blacklight will show glue repairs.
Lol lol I've still not learned enough apparently

ohhhh nice!
I liked the valances! I would definitely use cottagecore and maybe even kitch as keywords for them.
I definitely double check my cart before checkout
Thanks for the tip :D
I usually check my cart again before checkout and there's STILL stains on the clothing... I swear it's the lighting in there!
Lol lol yes most do have pretty crappy lighting
I agree lighting is not good in those stores!

Yes I recheck at stores. Not garage sales.
Envious of all your thrift store options. I have never filled a cart at any thrift store near me. Just broken junk most of the time

Hi there :D
I didn't know anything about these bears so thank you for the info. I have learned to check my items for cracks, stains or seams coming apart, but I still miss some. I sometimes return them or else I donate the item back to the store. The chicken linens were awesome. I like to decorate and I can totally picture the kitchen that those would be great in. You're so welcome. Most of mine don't accept returns
I didn't know anything about these bears, will have to keep my eye open for them.
Yes do for sure some can be very valuable
I have no sense of style with clothes but I love to decorate! I'm also very guilty of not checking items before I leave. Great video as always.
LOL at least you got one, I have neither LOL
I often ask the sales people to check the items before wrapping at checkout
I normally have such a full cart and line behind me that probably would be a disaster lol
Great finds! Glad you went there. I do love to decorate. I do try to look over everything in my cart but sometimes I don’t have time or don’t have my readers
Yes it was a good store for sure!
