- I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in quarantine! Google Maps street view has been one of the ways I've been spending my time during the stay at home advisory period in my hometown of Boston. I highly recommend you try this out yourself!

Damn... taking screenshots on google map haha. I saw the notification and thought you’re about to use a long lens and taking pictures of people walking pass the street from balcony 😂
If you make it to Japan think about also visiting Viet Nam as flights from Japan to Ha Noi are only about $500 round trip. I'd visit Ha Noi for the amazing street photography, Tam Cốc for the nature views, Hue for street, food and heritage photos, Da Nang (where I use to live) to photograph a very modern city with many old charms, Hoi An which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, Da Lat for the architecture and finally HCMC for more street photography. Viet Nam is very cheap and very safe. Flights inside Viet Nam can be had for about $50 USD.

Great idea. Half the time I spent in-game in Marvel's Spider-man on the PS4 was taking street photos but of course all of them had Spidey in it hahaha

Editing images created by others is a very good way of exercising ones judgment. Plus, being responsible about others during that time in our history was the right thing to do 👏

Yeah. I like doing this for references in my drawings. But, leveling it up with photography sounds amazing. My brains going crazy thinking of all the compositions I want now. 2yrs late but great video! I gotta jump back in with this new motivation.

What a great idea! I did some street photography in Tokyo a couple years ago. I went in July. My advise would be avoid July and August. The heat and humidity really slow you down. That's really all I would have changed about my trip.

First of all, this is really creative and looks rather fun. I need to try it out myself.
Just a small suggestion about your facecam maybe think about putting on the bottom right corner instead of the left. The way it's now it looks like you're looking away from your screen. That might just be my personal preference though!

I did exactly this... I visited parts of inner Spain through Google Street View for several years (not joking) before buying a Nikon Z5 and going there to do my first photography project. I agree with everything you say; it's a good way to scout and train your eye.

I did something similar to this for a racing event I couldn’t go to. I watched it on my tv and took photos with my iPhone on burst mode, then cropped and edited the photos, it was fun..

Well I'm on the road and still able to work and going in people's homes all day making sure they are staying up and running in Florida. So besides just visibly seeing all the shots I'm missing it's a bit frustrating while seeing history being made. When the weekend comes we can get out on our bikes or go for walks but I've been more tired than usual from the extra stress of being infected going into homes so just haven't had the will to do it. Maybe today though?
