Saying it now, Sims movie is probably going to be a Barbie clone (meta commentary) or Jumanji clone (isekai - "trapped in another world"). The only way they could impress me is if the movie is focused on a SPECIFIC game lore or creates new lore.

Or she's only involved in the background, as producer, not as an actor. It can also take time to really get things going, so while she's pregnant now that may not be a factor by the time filming starts. It depends on the timeframe they've set.
It's her production company LuckyChap Entertainment that's making it, so she is very much still involved! Also she may be more involved later, once she has the baby, she can if she wants be involved in the filming of the movie, plus she can still be involved in the writing and casting of the movie, being pregnant doesn't mean she can't work at all, lol! Usually it's only in the last month that an expecting mom might want to slow down and take it easy.
STOP BUYING GAME PACKS. Do not set the expectation that you need to pay for features that should have already been in the game. The only reason that EA continues to do it is because everyone buys it! In no way are they worth the value they are posted for. SIMS is GREED

The fact that people let them get away with "Cats and Dogs" instead of "Pets" (that included horses and reptiles) like in Sims 3, is exactly why they felt like they could get away with "My First Pet Stuff." In fact, horses aren't even part of the farming expansion pack. It has its own. If they finally make Sims 5, it'll probably have 1 vanilla map, and you have to pay for gallery items.
What's with all the talk of "innovation?" They keep trying to reinvent the wheel and that never works. They should be focusing on the IP in the franchise they have already released. Like...give us a modern reboot of The Sims 2 instead with the ability to create our own worlds like in TS3 CAW and have the ability for open neighborhoods like in TS4 but just larger. I'm tired of the shenanigans. There are so many things that are already great about different games in their franchise, they should be leaning more into those things rather than always trying to find some way to do something new that no one wanted or asked for.
It's easier to speak on innovation vs address how broken the game truly is. What's crazy is that people would be a lot more forgiving and understanding had they just been open about it from the jump.
I may actually buy the Creator Kits, thats so great to be able to get CC/mod like items for console players, especially if it's from non American and none European based players!
And no more having to worry about keeping the CC/mods updated! Seriously, I think this idea is perfect for console players and PC/Mac players who don't want the hassle of constantly updating mods/cc.

The creator program just sounds like a way to charge us for mods. So many people use mods to make their game more enjoyable, and sometimes even playable. I'm not a huge mod player but I will tell you I've used mods a few times in the past because that was the ONLY way something was playable. Like when MWS released and how DO is still broken... Even for a while DHD was unplayable so I used a mod to simply be able to play the game. So instead of fixing their own game they are now going to charge us for those fixes by making mods official releases....
I’m a Sims player and I still love the Sims (even though there are a lot of bugs, but they’re working on it) but honestly, I could care less about a Sims movie. Can’t say I’ll see it unless it becomes free down the line. Still can’t wait for Paralives and InZOI. The Sims is trying to hold their place as the head honcho. Competition is obviously what it takes for The Sims to progress and do better for their fans. If the other two games work out, I may still be playing The Sims less. Also can’t say that I’ll be buying Project Renee (aka The Sims 5). At this time, I’m enjoying just building w/o much gameplay.

Thank you for taking the time to give us EA's updates. But I'm not very excited about anything mentioned in this update. The only way to improve Sims4 would be to recreate it using Unreal Engine 5. And putting more resources into Quality Control before releasing new packs. I was excited about the pack refreshes, and they managed to do that just once. And so we get a movie before any true improvements are made that might make Sims4 fun again? Where the heck is EA going with this game? EA just keeps pumping out B/B and CAS stuff when all we want is more in-depth gameplay and bug fixes.

I recently played The Sims 1 again after 18 years. been on it for about a week, and I just added over 1 GB files (which you get A LOT) of CC to my game. No matter how messed up TS4, I'm still hoping that they'll continue the frenchise, and keep growing. I truly enjoy EA's art style, the lore, and how simple and straight forward it was back in the days.

I'm a sample size of exactly 1, I know, but, as someone who stopped playing The Sims and stopped paying attention to the franchise a couple of years ago? Not only am I paying attention again, but I'm *genuinely excited* to see this kind of energy. I will absolutely be reinstalling the game for Reaper's Rewards too, but that's just me being on brand 💀
Bro, I leave my house to go to the park loading screen. I want to go to my next-door neighbors house loading screen. Coffee shop loading screen got to go to work loading screen. The game is practically unplayable in my opinion. Where as every other game if it’s not open world, it feels extremely close to open world.
I just want to go into TS4 and just be able to play without bugs, glitches…etc. Can they make that happen first before making the movie because if the sims movie is more functional than the game itself….all hell will break loose.
Live mode is so buggy I genuinely can't play that part of the game half the time. I'm glad that live mode isn't prioritized because then at least I can play a portion of the game....
Can't say I am surprised. Seems like they know they won't be able to deliver on TS5 so they are just giving up entirely. They're going to ride TS4 until the wheels fall off and that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. They've conditioned the player base enough to accept whatever they shit out. Of course a lot of people are unhappy with the state of the franchise but not enough to move the needle. At least we have INZOI and Paralives, and we'll always have the older games (which maybe will get a remaster if we're lucky.)
I thought Project Rene was dead, abandoned! It was interesting to see LIVE move pronounced correctly. The game goes live, as in A-life, not to live as in we live. It always irks me to hear that. In all it all seems nice that they have not abandoned the game. I am a completonist, so I buy all they put out, but to be honest, I rarely play much anymore other than to build the occasional tiny home.
I struggle to understand how a company that can barely manage townie refreshes plans on running multiple games and expansion packs and media properties

This is a bunch of nothing. They found a new way to get money out of us. A movie sounds, well who cares. And if project rene is nothing but the Sims online. I will pass. Aa gameplay needs an overhaul. As a console player, this game is extremely dull and boring. The load times are unbearable. Still waiting on a next gen upgrade. I want free control of the character. So many aspects of gameplay need to be improved. And The photography in this game is trash. especially when compared to a game like inzoi. Which by the looks of it. Is where my money is going in the future.

I’m actually excited for the creator content! I can finally use really good cc in my game that everyone can use. Cities skylines content creator packs were a must have for me too so I’m glad sims is doing it.
Wow, honestly I though we were done with this last big patch... I am very surprised, because originally they said they would release patches every two months for a duration of 6 months with that new team... Hopefully they continu for a very long time because the game have bugs that are like 7 years old now... dating from season etc... this is a nightmare.
We got paralives and Inzoi and they are....giving us that..they will need to make it look good, work good and have way more then sims 4 did (thinking sims 2 with open world with more modern gameplay and creativness) ...we all know THAT isn't going to happen. Once paralives and Inzoi come out they are going to end up losing over half their fans..

Why does there need to be a The Sims movie? This isn't Clue. I like Margot Robbie. Death and Life better blow us out of the water, better be interactions with the grim reaper and so and so forth, because I feel like they're trying to butter us up with so much stuff(try to overwhelm us) that we may like or be interested in. I just hope things work, first achievement of any expansion, stuff, game pack, or kit should be: NO BUGS. They might have already opened up registration for Project Rene. I've been keeping up with it, and usually they say the name of the game, but last week the opened up registration for some un-named game under a lot of NDA's. No guarantee that's what it is, but it's possible

Project Rene is going to be a redo of The Sims Online. UGH... 😭 The only upside to the creator kits that I see is for the console players and if it's gameplay script mods then we won't have to update anymore, they will probably update with the patches each month. I figured it was a matter of time before they tried to corner the cozy Switch market. lol I'm sure it will be included in The Sims Online (especially if you can already play it on a phone.) That damn thing has killed so many good games.

This is a bunch of nothing. They found a new way to get money out of us. A movie sounds, well who cares. And if project rene is nothing but the Sims online. I will pass. Aa gameplay needs an overhaul.
As a console player, this game is extremely dull and boring. The load times are unbearable. Still waiting on a next gen upgrade. I want free control of the character. So many aspects of gameplay need to be improved. And The photography in this game is trash. especially when compared to a game like inzoi.
Which by the looks of it. Is where my money is going in the future.
All this is only being stated because they're having an investor day and it's all PR speak and hype to appeal to them.

Usually Tuesday updates or Thursdays wow they must of changed it though at least we are getting the game fixed thank god for that been waiting for this update fixed since day one which it's 22nd of July.

I’m actually excited for the creator content! I can finally use really good cc in my game that everyone can use. Cities skylines content creator packs were a must have for me too so I’m glad sims is doing it.

Wow, honestly I though we were done with this last big patch... I am very surprised, because originally they said they would release patches every two months for a duration of 6 months with that new team... Hopefully they continu for a very long time because the game have bugs that are like 7 years old now... dating from season etc... this is a nightmare.

We got paralives and Inzoi and they are....giving us that..they will need to make it look good, work good and have way more then sims 4 did (thinking sims 2 with open world with more modern gameplay and creativness) ...we all know THAT isn't going to happen.
Once paralives and Inzoi come out they are going to end up losing over half their fans..

Sims creator kits sound like Bethesda creation club paid mods in games like Starfield.

Why does there need to be a The Sims movie? This isn't Clue. I like Margot Robbie. Death and Life better blow us out of the water, better be interactions with the grim reaper and so and so forth, because I feel like they're trying to butter us up with so much stuff(try to overwhelm us) that we may like or be interested in. I just hope things work, first achievement of any expansion, stuff, game pack, or kit should be: NO BUGS. If they ever achieve this I'll give them a round of applause(I get that they're rushing with all that needs to go into the game itself, as well as release times).

They really need to learn to let go. It wasn't great in the first place but instead of admitting that they dug in their heals and refused to move on. What's more they are trying to trend chase and instead they are going to crash and burn.

They might have already opened up registration for Project Rene. I've been keeping up with it, and usually they say the name of the game, but last week the opened up registration for some un-named game under a lot of NDA's. No guarantee that's what it is, but it's possible
11:50 that’s… basically Bethesda’s Creation Club. It wasn’t great. Bethesda does also have console mods and I’m all for something like that. Only problem is I’m pretty sure console Sims is too different from PC/Mac Sims

Yeah, Project Rene is definitely not The Sims 5 is what I'm getting from this article. Oh well... here's hoping Inzoi lives up in gameplay to their graphics. Project Rene is going to be a redo of The Sims Online. UGH... 😭 The only upside to the creator kits that I see is for the console players and if it's gameplay script mods then we won't have to update anymore, they will probably update with the patches each month. I figured it was a matter of time before they tried to corner the cozy Switch market. lol I'm sure it will be included in The Sims Online (especially if you can already play it on a phone.) That damn thing has killed so many good games.
